Quote: This time of year, snow is common. What’s uncommon is the single, strange snowfall that glistened like tiny diamonds. Everything about the snow seemed normal—it’s cold, wet, and melts just like any other snow, it just also happens to look like tiny little gems are falling from the sky. Depending on who you’re with, it’s either incredibly strange, or incredibly romantic.

Now that he was at high school school Briar generally didn't have as much time to hang out with Kirra. It had been easier during his Knightside days when the two of them had been at the same school, even though he had been several years ahead of his shorter friend - but with the switch to High School had come homework and class assignments that were much longer and took more time to complete than the ones that he'd had to do at Knightside.
Briar had done his best however and the two of them had managed somehow even despite that–
As it happened it was how he found himself out today and bundled up in scarf, coat, gloves and boots as he trudged through the lightly falling snow towards the park tree that was their meeting point.
He had almost reached the tree when something glinted in the snow, distracting him, the snow crunching under his booted feet as Briar stepped forward to take a closer look.LokisRose Hope that this works as a Briar & Kirra start Loki. I thought it might be fun for them to do the snow one again :3

The thing about snow, thought Kirra, besides the coldness and the fun-ness and the general awesomeness, the thing was that it was reaaally hard to run fast in it, no matter how much of a hurry she was in to finally see Briar again. Even though it wasn’t a heavy fall, the walk to the Secret Meeting Tree took forever, her boots sticking and slipping as she kicked her way through. There’d be time to play in it later - Briar came first. He was always so busy now, so when he did have time, she didn’t want to mess things up and be late. At last she made it to the tree, to see her friend already waiting. Oh no, did he get even taller in the last few weeks? She was never going to catch up! As always, she raised her arm to wave a greeting, but he wasn’t even looking her way. Weird. She crunched the rest of the way over. “Whatcha looking at?” she asked, bending to see what had caught his attention. litian Hope you had an amazing Christmas!

Briar couldn't help but frown at the snow because the snow was sparkling - almost as if tiny gems were falling from the sky–
And he was trying hard not to think of how much they resembled the starseeds that he had came across during his time in Negaspace - the ones that he, Oberon and all the others with him had rescued.
He was still frowning slightly as he reached out with a gloved hand to touch some of the snow in front of him, but his hand dropped away at the sound of the familiar-sounding voice from slightly behind him - Kirra.
"Hey Kirra" he said, the frown falling away as he gave his friend and senshi partner a small smile "Sorry I was looking at the snow" he pointed towards some of the glistening pieces of snow as he spoke "It looks like it's sparkling" and whilst the little gem-like bits was kind of pretty, it didn't make it any less weird.LokisRose Christmas was pretty good :3 Also Happy 2018 <3

“Ohh, pretty!” Kirra was not yet a connoisseur of snow, but she could see immediately what Briar meant now he’d pointed it out. The snow was falling not so much in flakes as in little glittery diamonds. It kind of looked more hail-y than snowy, but hail never fell so very gently, in her experience. So it was snow-hail? Snail? She shook her head, discarding that idea. It would need a better name since it was so pretty. Snails were slimy, not shiny. She knelt down in the glitter drift, examining the little sparkly shards that had settled over the more normal snow-covered ground, then turning her eyes to the sky to watch them falling. It was like something out of TV. Or like magic. Her delighted smile dimmed a fraction. If it was magic, it had to be good magic, right? “Is it okay?” she asked, craning her neck to look back up at Briar. “It is just snow, right? But isn’t snow supposed to be never all the same shape? ‘Cos snowflakes are always all different.” Briar would know. He was in high school, after all.

Kirra's words almost seemed to echo his thoughts, although Briar wasn't about to admit that he thought the snow pretty, at least not out loud he wasn't, and it being pretty didn't make it any less strange - because glitter snow wasn't exactly normal.
He knelt down in the snow himself at Kirra's question about whether the snow was okay, a thoughtful frown on his face as he reached out to poke at it with a gloved hand as he had been planning to do earlier before Kirra's arrival had interrupted him.
"I think so" he said at last, because apart from the sparkles it looked like snow and it certainly felt cold and wet like snow.
He carefully poked at it again before looking at Kirra "And I haven't seen any bunny-like things so yes I think it's okay - just glittery."

A little grin tugged at the corner of Kirra’s lip as her friend dropped down beside her in the snow, reminding her that though he was tall, they weren’t that far apart. They weren’t superheroes right now, but Briar looked like a detective, the way he poked at the snow with his face all serious. Looking for Clues, she decided, and ever the faithful sidekick, she leaned in to examine it too. After he pronounced it safe, she reached out her own gloved hand to play with it, but froze at the mention of last year’s bunny-snow. She could almost still feel the unnatural chill that superhero adventure had brought on, seeping through her clothes and into her insides. Her cheeks puffed out in a pout. “Bunny snow was meeean," she said. "I like this better.” And she flicked her fingers through the drift, sending a little spurt of cold wet glitter in Briar’s direction.
