Quote:
This time of year, snow is common. What’s uncommon is the single, strange snowfall that glistened like tiny diamonds. Everything about the snow seemed normal—it’s cold, wet, and melts just like any other snow, it just also happens to look like tiny little gems are falling from the sky. Depending on who you’re with, it’s either incredibly strange, or incredibly romantic.

With delicate steps, Chalcanthite wandered through the falling snow as he searched for another target to drain. The flute had become quite useful as well as his recent promotion to the rank of General. Gone was the time for coattails, they would get in the way of his arrows. His quiver now lay bare for the world to see on his hip. His heart was still aching though as he felt himself floating farther away from his sister and into his work. It was then as he walked in silent contemplation, that he saw a group of people standing at the end of a nearby alley.

Now was a time for action, he withdrew the flute from his breast pocket and began to play. An alien sound echoed through the narrow alley, carrying its odd and beautiful melody to the ears of those at its end. At first they may have thought it odd but, Chalcanthite smiled as they slowly fell under the music’s trance. With the dexterity and speed of a cat, Chalcanthite quickly drained some energy from the group as he continued to play. Once enough was taken, he left to look for the next targets. The melody echoing through the network of alleyways as he walked past each intersection.

What was it that drew her out this night? She hadn't set it as a regular night in which she patrolled and yet she found herself creating an excuse to get out of the house and just away before stomping around the streets. Perhaps it was the smartest decision to stick to the areas that were well lit but Izobel knew in her heart that the enemy often lurked unseen. The snow was drifting past the redhead as she moved with purpose but she didn't really take much note of it. Something else was on her mind and truth be told she was feeling sort of lonely.

Ducking into an alley that was definitely abandoned (she was getting better at picking them out) Izobel used the cover of darkness to bring out her henshin pen and transform into Lacerta, the senshi of bandages. In a feat that would have probably created problems for anyone who did not possess magical powers Lacerta easily sprung off the ground and landed smartly on the roof of one of the buildings that framed the alley. Pulling out her phone Lacerta fiddled with a few of the buttons before sighing and putting it away. She was never sure want it was that she was supposed to do now. Casting a glance towards the sky and the snowflakes that continued to fall Lacerta caught the extra glimmer of shine that surrounded each flake. How ... odd.

Perhaps she would have spent more time observing the flakes if it weren't for the sudden strains of a faint melody rising up from down below. Frowning at the distraction Sailor Lacerta went to the roof's ledge and peered down, searching for any sign of the source of the mysterious music. It wasn't hard to determine that it was coming closer to her location and along with it ... something that seemed familiar, and yet not familiar at the same time. Leaning over the ledge Lacerta's purple eyes scanned the street below, trying to pinpoint exactly what it was she was sensing.

Chalcanthite felt a familiar aura, one he had not felt since Halloween. She was close, perhaps listening to his music as he played. As he looked up towards the rooftops, he noticed an odd aura to the snow as it fell. It almost looked as if the snow itself were crystals falling from the sky. After a moment, he returned to playing his flute as he progressed forward through the streets. If she wanted to speak with him she would probably do so soon and he could see how the strange flute effected her as well.

What was this familiar tickle at the back of her scalp? Her keen gaze still refused to remain still and momentarily the bandage senshi was taken back to another rooftop meeting (or two) around Halloween and suddenly she came to the realization of why the feeling was so familiar. Pausing in uncertainty for a moment Sailor Lacerta shook her head before finding the ladder in order to descend to street level. It would be good to see Coll'arco again if only just to check in and see how he was doing. The senshi felt bad for bailing on him after their battle with the spiders but she'd figured that after too many close spider encounters that she had earned a break, and she had suddenly become very bogged down with schoolwork.

Reaching the last ladder rung and placing her feet on the street Lacerta listened closely for the musical strains and wondered if, just possibly, it was Coll'arco who was playing the instrument. If it was him she would have to compliment him on his musical skills afterwards. The music was enchanting really. Closing her eyes for a moment Lacerta just took the time to let the music surround her before she grinned and opened her eyes once more. She'd have to amend her earlier statement to exceptional musical skills.

Taking very little notice now in the snow that continued to fall as it still melted on contact with her bare arms Lacerta trailed thoughtfully in the direction she believed the magician was heading, following the music as it got louder and louder.

Chalcanthite felt her slowly close the gap between them, it was odd though. Playing the flute without any ear protection always left him a little dazed. Hopefully in time he would gain an immunity to it or find a better way around the trance for himself. With a smile he turned to face her and put the flute away in his coat's breast pocket. His hair had small clumps of snow stuck to it from where he had stayed still for too long. The crystalline appearance of the snow was quite charming as an accent to his hair as he waited for Lacerta to return to her senses.

"It is nice to see you again young miss." With a slight bow, he gestured for her to come closer after calling out to her. She looked well, given the events of Halloween. Inside he was a bit worse for wear but in time it would pass, there was always research to be done and work to do.

sorry on delay, and odd reply

Was something else at work? Sailor Lacerta was pretty sure she had followed the sounds of music in an effort to find Coll'arco but was there something else pulling at her? Shaking her head the redhead paused as the musical strains died away and she rounded the corner to spy the magician who looked none the worse for wear. She herself was only slightly worn down but had picked this night for a patrol. Letting her gaze flick around at the still falling snow the senshi of bandages let out a soft sigh. Her life was so complicated now that she was willing to follow half-strangers around town. Coll'arco was still a mystery to Lacerta but she was willing to let the intrigue stay for the moment. "It's good to see you again as well. Battled anything of interest lately?"

She only really asked that last question out of jest as they'd made an interesting team against the bats and spiders from Halloween. Coll'arco had mentioned trying to battle other creatures so the question was certainly valid too. Her gaze turned to the sky for a moment tracking the trajectory of some snowflakes before gazing towards the magician. What was his full story?

She had not changed at all since their last meeting, where he had gained a rank and a greater burden, she looked the same at least in attire. It looked like something bothered her now though, that she maybe had her own burden. He question piqued his interest, had she finally put two and two together about his alliance.

"In all honesty, I have been busy with sort of a musical adventure. Composing things and looking into some things regarding all the oddness that seemed to occur last season. Swamp monsters and the like but nothing came of it and it simply dissipated. How have you been, I hope you are well and free of things that go bump in the night." The flute rested heavily in his breast pocket as he adjusted his stance. His attire had slimmed down since her previous rank. While it was useful for his archery, it didn't assist with the winter weather in the slightest.

Swamp creatures? Hopefully he had been careful in doing so. To hear that he was busier in regards to musical adventures was interesting. Lacerta wasn't much into the music scene and basically was content to have music on as background noise when it came to homework or tending to things around the house. As odd as it was she had actually enjoyed listening to the music that had been drifting around the alleyways earlier. "I've been relatively free of things that go bump in the night. There have been some odd things here and there that I've encountered but nothing really dangerous," Lacerta paused for a moment and then shook her head, "nope, that is a lie. I did get caught in one of those freak icicle storms. That wasn't fun at all. I still have moments where I think I'm doing too much at once."

But besides that she had been relatively fine. Patrol was routine most nights she went out and she was certain things would get better. They just had too. Maybe spring would see more people she could interact with coming out of well, hibernation.
