Quote:
The line for Santa is miles long and doesn’t seem to be moving. At the front, it appears there isn’t enough help to keep everything running smoothly. Suddenly you are tapped on the shoulder and turn around to find a woman dressed as an elf looking at you with panic in her eyes. “There you are! Where have you been? Why aren’t you dressed? Hurry up! We need more hands up there!” It appears she has mistaken you for one of the missing elves. Do you go along with it? Set her straight?

Michiko was really depressed this winter, her parents had yet again decided to stay overseas on business so weren't coming home for the holiday since they didn't feel it was an important holiday for their family. Michiko disagreed she missed them and want to spend time together as a family. She called Bluebell to meet her at the mall, she was looking for something to cheer herself up so she figured she would get her picture taken with santa and that would be cute and fun, even if a bit childish.

It was great to finally get a break from school, plus she did miss living at home with her parents just a small bit. Bluebell did quite enjoy the advantages of living on campus, mainly because it was fairly easy to avoid the whole 'where are you at night' conflict with her parents this way. She was totally free to continue her Senshi adventures without anyone having the slightest clue. Of course, they both still had to work all day. So it was rather boring wandering around such a large house on her own.

Thankfully she got an invite to head out to the mall. After their spooky encounter together Bluebell and and Michiko had kept in contact with each other. They didn't get to see each other two often, going to different schools and all, but Winter break meant they both had time to spend with each other.

"I think some people are staring at us." It wasn't really all that weird for them to take a picture with Santa. She was sure people older than them were lighting up their instagrams and twitters with their own pics. So many memes would be born this month alone.

Michiko blinked when she heard Bluebell say people were staring at them, she was wondering why when a frantic woman came up to them asking a lot of strange questions. She couldn't bring herself to say anything and lost sight of Bluebell as she was dragged away and given an elf outfit. What on earth had just happened? Michi was so confused but she couldn't bring herself to tell them they had made a terrible mistake. Dressed as an elf she went back out and smiled as she saw Santa and the children this was good actually this was the feeling she wanted. She looked around to see what had happened to Bluebell perhaps she would come help Santa and the children too.

Michiko was definitely a little bit out of it today, which she could understand. Bluebell would be disappointed if her parents weren't coming home for the holidays. It was hard enough for her to have to live in a dorm, though she had been the one to request it, but if she couldn't see them on Christmas? That would totally suck. She was trying to keep her friend cheerful when some mall woman approached Michiko and started accusing her of being gone too long and such nonsense.

"She doesn't work here!" The woman seemed to be ignoring her completely though and was already dragging her friend off toward the front of the line. Bluebell followed after them, though some people in the line were complaining. "Why would I cut in line to see Santa? I'm seventeen for goodness' sake!" Though, she had to admit her height didn't make her look like a teenager. Everyone probably assumed she was some preteen still in love with Santa Claus. When she got to the front though and saw that Michiko and the mall lady had disappeared somewhere, she could only assume the girl had went along with her silly plan.

When Michiko came out dressed as an elf, Bluebell could only give her a silly smile. Although, what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than dressing up like an Elf and working for Santa? She decided to wave down a staff member and ask if she could volunteer to help. These people must have been desperate, because they were all to eager to loan her an outfit and set her to work as well. It was a shame she wasn't getting paid to do this, but oh well.

She walked over to Michiko once she was dressed. "You think they'll keep us here until the mall closes?" The mall was even staying open later than usual due to Holiday hours. People needed plenty of time to do their shopping after all.

Michiko blushed at Bluebell when she saw her in her silly elf outfit, she was short so she kinda looked like an elf without the outfit's help, with the red and green and the bells on her shoes. Glitter on her face and a hat with a bell on it as well. She was sure she did look a little silly, but this was better than being home by herself. She smiled brightly when Bluebell decided to join her in her crazy elf situation. They were both short so it was no wonder they had been mistaken for elf workers. "If they do I don't mind."

She let out a sigh and said softly "My parents aren't home anyway." Then she went to guild another child to Santa and then went to the other side to give the child getting off Santa's lap a candy cane. This was a much better use of her time than sitting at home alone pouting that didn't solve anything after all. All it did was make her more depressed. Seeing the light in the kids eyes as they saw Santa and told him their christmas wishes make her feel so much better. "I like it here." She said softly to Bluebell.

Bluebell wasn't sure how she felt about being stuck here for the whole day, but at least Michiko seemed to have cheered up quite a bit. She looked happy for the first time today really. No way was Bluebell going to take this away from her. Besides, most of her shopping was done anyway. And if she came back tomorrow with a hat on, she probably wouldn't be spotted and dragged away to be Santa's helper again. The outfit was cute and honestly she could see why either of them would be mistaken from some elves. Neither of them was exactly tall.

"It's not so bad..." She was in charge of putting together the paper reindeers antlers to give out to the kids as they finished up with Santa. They looked so happy to put on the little headbands and she smiled at them all, wishing them a merry Christmas.

Michiko smiled she was glad that Bluebell had gotten roped into this too, it wouldn't have been as fun if she had been in this situation by herself. It might have still been fun but not nearly as much fun as having Bluebell with her. "Thank you for coming after me and not leaving me in this situation by myself," she said softly as she helped a little girl onto Santa's lap. It was getting later and the mall for only be open for a bit longer. She couldn't help but wonder if they would get paid for this or if it would be volunteering since neither of them had actually been hired by the mall. Not that it matter Michi had all the money she needed to go shopping for Christmas.

They had been working hard for a few hours at that point. It was sort of crazy to think about ust how many kids lived in the city, or even just this area of the city. The line was never ending, even as her stack of paper antlers started to get smaller and smaller as she handed them out one at a time. She was worried she was going to run out, until some other Santa helper dropped a brand new box of them down next to her. Wonderful, she had sort of hoped it would be over early if she ran out.

"I would never leave you alone to do this." Bluebell did sort of wish she was being paid to do this, but she had volunteered after all. Whoever Michiko had been mistaken for was probably going to get paid however. Unless they made things clear with the staff after this. Maybe their missing elf had gotten sick of her of her job and run away? There was probably know way they'd ever know for sure.

Michiko smiled shyly in her elf outfit when it was all over she was happy and it was nice to get paid for something she actually did rather than money her parents gave her to replace them not being around. After she had changed into her normal outfit she waited for Bluebell so they could get out of there and do something else before it was time to head home for the night. The day hadn't turned out as she planned but it had turned out really great.
