Quote:
This time of year, snow is common. What’s uncommon is the single, strange snowfall that glistened like tiny diamonds. Everything about the snow seemed normal—it’s cold, wet, and melts just like any other snow, it just also happens to look like tiny little gems are falling from the sky. Depending on who you’re with, it’s either incredibly strange, or incredibly romantic.

Leaving early for work had been a rather good decision, Melody found herself thinking as she stepped from front porch of her home and onto the snow covered grass. Sure she probably should have used the walk way down that had recently been shoveled for safety but who was she to deny the thrill of the crunch of snow beneath her shoes. Especially since the roads and sidewalks would be cleared of snow on her way in.

Snuggling a little deeper into her coat, a large and hooded thing lined with fur and colored a dusky pink, because though she loved the cold weather her body didn't, she closed her eyes to just let herself enjoy the feeling of the world around her until she made it to the street. The clack of heels on the sidewalk forced brown eyes to open, so she wouldn't run into anyone now that she was no longer on her own property, and for a moment she was sad.

The tranquility of the moment had been ruined a little now that she couldn't just lose herself to the world around her but in the process a new moment had been made. The sun setting slowly in the distance, since the nights grew darker sooner, the light seemed to glint off of something in the sky.

It was like tiny gemstones in the sky, shifting and swaying in the wind, as a new layer of snow began to fall again. While the sky didn't entirely call for another wave of snow just yet it wasn't unheard of, and like she was going to complain about such a sight.

She didn't know that snow could look like that, the crystals that made up snowflakes were supposed to be too small for such a thing? But rationality was blown away by beauty and the blonde was quick to stop and watch the show. She'd even gone so far as to try to reach out and touch one, though it melted just as easily as snow did.

In the odd serenity of twilight Melody stood to watch as the diamonds, if only because they looked as such. It was a shame, really, that there was no one there with her to witness the stunning display along side of her. A piece of fantasy admist the reality of the world around her.

If you ignored the fact that her reality could be considered a sort of fantasy if talked about.

It could almost be considered romantic in some ways, came the thought out of no where. It had sounded almost supisciously like her mother when she was trying to sweet talk her into dating and she couldn't help but find the moment almost ruined. Until Zachary's face flickered in her mind and her cheeks burned bright as she quickly pulled the hood of her jacket down in case some one was watching.

Darn her mother and her constant pressing for Melody to find someone to marry (or at least date!). This wasn't the time to be dwelling on any sort of mysterious feelings she may or may not have for her most recent friend! Groaning to herself, the blonde hurried her on her way to work in hopes of getting the whole situation off of her mind.

Not that it was going to do any good now that the thought had been put there. He probably wouldn't have cared much for the sight anyway... Not to mention she was wary about attempting any sort of relationship with anyone after the way she'd handled Azzo's feelings way back when (she really should forgive herself for that, he was better off now), afraid to hurt someone else.

But... maybe there wouldn't be any harm in at least thinking about it though, right? Indulge herself in her little crush, if even just for tonight? It was going to be hard to not after such a lovely display anyway.

Of course now that she'd accepted to herself that she was indeed crushing on the Senshi of the Lost she was going to have to do her best to never let Itsuki know ever. She had one match-maker in her life, she didn't dare give the small cat a chance to do the same.

Mostly in fear of him accidentally spilling to his owner.

Passing under a streetlight, the last vestiages of sunlight caught the snow again and she paused to smile once more at the glittering diamond-like snow that fell. "Just for tonight."
