This time of year, snow is common. What’s uncommon is the single, strange snowfall that glistened like tiny diamonds. Everything about the snow seemed normal—it’s cold, wet, and melts just like any other snow, it just also happens to look like tiny little gems are falling from the sky. Depending on who you’re with, it’s either incredibly strange, or incredibly romantic.
Tiberius lay in one of the windows in Stroud's flat, watching the outside world with his front legs stretched before him to take up as much space as possible and his rounded, fluffy butt shoved against the sill. His tail twitched lazily in the space beneath as he watched the snow falling without much interest.
At least, until the light caught some of the 'flakes' properly and he noticed that they weren't actually flakes at all. They were actually minuscule gems that glittered and fell with the same weightless pattern and manner that actual snow had. Which was weird.
The Mauvian narrowed his eyes a bit, then scrambled to his feet. He had to get samples. He had to know - this was not normal, this meant something important! But he'd have to get outside for the samples, he'd need to transport them safely - would they melt? Perhaps dry ice? And inspection! That would require a microscope - the HQ would be best.
Damn his not having hands.
"Lazaruuuus!" Tiberius launched himself from the window, leaving a cat-shaped cloud of foggy condensation from his body heat; he loped through the flat to Laz's room, calling the man's name the whole time with a wild sort of glee.
"Something's weird with the snow!" The Mauvian shoved a paw into the partial open door, shoving it wider so he could slip the entirety of his body through, tail a straight-up plume of interest and excitement. "I need you. Are you sober enough to do detail work or do I need to call someone else?" He could not stop dancing about the floor, making patterns between the human and the now wide-open door.
