She woke into darkness. A bit of light streamed in through the window, but the normal glow of electronics was absent. Alex groped around for her phone and unlocked the screen, bringing the room into stark contrast. It was not yet seven in the evening, according to her phone. Even if Rene had let her sleep ( she had vague recollections of coming into his room to nap after spending the day beating her head against game development on his couch ) there would still be light somewhere.
Alex climbed off the bed and shivered. Seven hells it was cold as s**t. Using her phone as her lamp, she wandered out of the bedroom.
"Rene, is the power out? Is that why it's so ******** cold" she asked, looking around for her dork. Her dork. Wow, Alex. Lay a claim why don't you.

Rene huffed quietly as he dug around in a closet. "It looks like it..." He mumbled, illuminated by a small candle. "I don't know how long it's been out... We both kind of dozed off. Rene made a small noise as he hit his head against one of the shelves, but pulled back to reveal a box of flashlights and candles. He glanced at the box before looking at Alex. "You're gonna find out I have a lot of odd habits and you can one hundred percent blame my parents for about ninety percent of them." Rene said as he collected his candle and stood. "I have heavier blankets in the closet in my room.... Unless... you wanna hole up somewhere else in the house." Again he glanced at the box sheepishly. "I uh... I'm not gonna lie... When I was younger, and I was home alone when a blackout happened, I use to just nap through em until the power turning back on woke me up. I still do it every now and then, depending on whats going on..." He wasn't sure what else to do right now. They could always try going out, but, the black out looked to be a little.... wide spread. "I'd say we could just... power up and wonder explore but uh... Mine kinda looks like it does outside so I think the illusions been broken." He joked.

Alex smirked at him, walking over to take one of the flashlights and set it up like a lamp on the table.
"I mean... there are ways we can keep warm," she suggested, a slight tilt to her voice and a swish of her hips. There certainly were ways they could make sure the room was very warm, very quickly. She was mostly joking, to a point. It wasn't always clear the line and comfortableness with that sort of stuff, but the invitation was out there.
"Otherwise, I could take you to my Wonder on Uranus. The sands might still be warm," she offered, giving him a more platonic option if he wanted.

Rene nearly dropped a candle on his foot as he watched her hips in the dark, taking a moment to process what she had said. "A-alex! Oh my god." He chirped, suddenly thankful for the darkness hiding the blush that rapidly spread over his cheeks. What was he going to do with this girl? "It's your fault now if we wake up later and I'm having certain issues again." He grumbled, despite the lack of any irritation behind his words. "Though somehow, I get the feeling if I was, neither of us would probably complain about it..."
Then he paused. "What do you mean 'might still be warm?' Do they cool off?"

"What? Don't say you wouldn't want to at least have some fun in the dark, Rene," she quipped, a s**t eating grin on her face. Man, it was just so damn fun to tease him. She couldn't help herself, he just opened himself for it. And she could almost see the blush on his cheeks, it was gold.
"If it's nighttime, the sands have probably cooled off. You know, like a normal desert."

Rene huffed playfully with a roll of his eyes. "I'll... admit that I've thought about... it." He mumbled. "But I wasn't sure where the line was. I also, didn't want to move to fast and ruin what we have now, especially when we're so new." Rene said quietly before shooting her a grin in the dark. "But... You seem to be happy with seeing me turn into a blushing tomato." If Alex was happy and having fun, then Rene was alright with it.
"I've never been to a desert before. I think the farthest from the city I've been was.... back when my sister and I were younger. We lived near some woods. Then there was one time where mom tried to live on the beach but... I doubt either of those are the same." He laughed.

Alex walked over to him and playfully nipped at his jaw with her teeth, before finding a spot just under his jaw to linger at. A hand trailed down his chest and then lingered. There was almost no sound from her except the rustle of clothing and small sounds of her lips on his skin.
Then she was gone.
"I mean, you've been to your wonder, right? Or at least to Olympus when the Code demands our attention. That's pretty damn far from the city. But... we could go, if you wanted to," she said over her shoulder as she moved towards the bedroom again.
And now, to wait to see what Rene would do. Would he be stunned, would he pounce her, would he faint from lack of blood flow to his brain?!

Anything else Rene had been about to say was replaced with a choked noise as Alex began to n** at his jaw. "M-my wonder is c-covered in ice..." He stammered, the end of his sentence trailing off into a hiss as he tried to focus on his words and not her hand. "Yes." He groaned out, with a shiver. "I've been to both. You know I waa- Hey!" Rene choked as he watched her get up and leave.
That tease. She'd done that all on purpose.
Rene groaned again, scrubbing at his face with a huff. Well, there was that aforementioned issue again...
"I want you to know you're absolutely horrible." Though there was no bite to the words. He glanced at the box of candles before snorting. Guess they knew where the line started. Rene stood, before slowly prowling after her. "Is that how you want to be?" He taunted. "Well then Sweetheart, two can play at that game..."

Alex grinned like a Cheshire cat in the dark of the bedroom. She was perched on the end of the bed, a stream of moonlight falling over her extended - bare - leg. The light from the window illuminated the floor and her leg, but little else.
"I suppose that was a little mean..." she said, smirking in the dark. Alex leaned forward, pushing down on the corner of the bed with her hands, and made a come-hither motion with her finger. "How ever will you get me back for it?"
She shifted ever so slightly, letting the light reveal her to him.
And the distinct lack of most articles of clothing.

"A little..." He agreed, matching her grin. "Well, I could just go back to the other room and handle my issue myself, leave you here in the cold." Rene said, stalking closer. "I mean, I'm a big boy, I can handle things myself if I need too. Never said I needed your help." He was sure he could figure some other way to torment her too, if he really thought about it. "Though, maybe if you ask nicely, I'll consider letting you help."
