Ninaeleth Post 1

Nin ate the last of her crab that she had cooked on the small fire on the beach, her father was nearby, giving her a little alone time to be herself which she appreciated, for being a new Daddy he was adapting to it really well. She purred her pleasure at landing such a good adoptive parent. He had chosen her and she couldn't quite believe it still. She buried the carapace in the sand and patted it closed, It wouldn't do to leave a mess, she got up to go and comb the seashore for more edibles. Dad was cooking later but that did not stop her insatiable appetite now. She loved that he let her stay on the beach as long as he was nearby. Wouldn't do to be kidnapped no, but the orphanage had had so many rules.

Emiyn 1

It was another quiet day in which Emiyn felt the wind tugging him along. For others it was a subtle breeze that drifted from the ocean with it's hint of salt and sand but for Emiyn it was like a dotted line on a map. Just like any child gifted with a treasure map Emiyn decided to follow the trail and see where it led him. However he found himself distracted by a shell that gleamed with a variety of colors in the sunlight. Bending down the boy reached out a tentative hand before scooping up his prize. It would make for a nice present to someone surely or even he could add it to his collection at home. Smiling ever so faintly Emiyn placed it in his bag before standing again and glancing around. Now where should he go? His golden gaze scanned the beach before landing on something that was moving. Was that someone else out here? A very small someone at that...

Ninaeleth Post 2

She scurried off into the surf after a particularly fast crab, but it escaped her so she punched the water in frustration and crawled back out of the water to continue her search, one day she would be big enough to take the fight to the sea, then she would see what they would do then! Huzzah. She took deep calming breaths and started to stick her arm down clam holes, surviving she was good at. A bird cawed nearby and she looked up at the alarm. A boy...collecting shells, how nice. She wondered if he was going to make his way over or not. She wondered if her father would intervene. She could see him watching from the shore.

Emiyn post 2

Emiyn raised a brow in concern. Was the water so offensive that the child had to punch it so? Still he supposed it was nothing for him to worry about as she had already left the water to resume her beach activities. He just hoped nothing was waiting down in those holes for her. Shrugging at the thought the boy continued to move along until another whisper of the wind caught his attention and he found himself drifting towards the girl.

"Ah, excuse me." He spoke, his voice almost as quiet as the gentle breeze, "But may I reach around you? There's a shell I'm interested in next to your foot."

Ninaeleth Post 3
She froze then turned to look at the boy, he had decided to come after all...for a shell? She looked down at the specimen in question and remained still for him. "Go ahead, I won't move." It was a pretty shell. Decorative even. He had good taste. She inhaled deeply, catching a wisp of fresh scent from him. He didn't seem to have any aggression so perhaps he deserved a name. "My name is Nin, do you have any secrets on how to catch clams? Every hole I try seems to be vacant and yet I see the elders do this all the time.

"Thank you." He smiled sincerely towards the youngling before shifting so that he could reach over her and pick up the shell. Thankful to have found such a prize the boy gingerly stuffed it into his bag with the rest of the collection before pausing at the sudden introduction and question which followed it, "Nin?" He repeated blinking in surprise as he turned so that he could study the girl. He should have expected that request would have resulted in conversation, but the boy was still unaccustomed to doing such things in a typical manner. Yet he owed it to the girl considering her kindness just now in allowing him to pick up the shell and so Emiyn found himself concentrating on her questions, something rare for the boy who often had his head in the clouds, "If you see steam then it's a sign." He replied quietly as his gaze scanned the beach thoughtfully, "Sometimes they'll spit from their holes and the further out the tide the better since they prefer the muddier parts of the beach where the waters usually rest during the afternoon." He nodded before pausing once more as realization hit him, "Ah. My name is also Emiyn should you wish to know such a thing."

Nin Post 4

Nin tilted her head and considered the information she had been given about the clams and the boy himself. His speech patterns seemed a little odd, but that could be explained easily if he was simply from a different region of Matori than she. She wondered what Isolder thought of the boy. It appeared that he simply wanted his shell and then to go. But she was enjoying meeting a new person for once. "Ahh I see that makes sense then I think, I don't think they like to dry out which may be why they stick to the surf..I must be looking in the old holes." She slumped a little. Oh well, she liked crab meat better anyway. "Have you figured out what you want to be yet? Perhaps a mage?"

Emiyn 4

Emiyn was prepared to flit away as her question was now answered but seeing the slump of those shoulders made the boy pause. Perhaps he was too sensitive to the needs of others but it simply didn't feel right to leave such a youngling looking so defeated, "Perhaps. Sometimes I hear you just have to be patient enough to sit and wait to hear the clams stir. I can try and help you if you would like me to do so." He offered a small smile before her next question made his expression halt and the boy found his gaze widening ever so slightly in surprise, "I'm sorry?" He blinked as the words processed, "I uh never gave much thought to it and am not certain about my future goals." He paused once more before finding himself asking again, "Why ask about magic though?"

Nin 5

"You would help me? That would be fun." She fiddled a little with the ends of her hair. She looked at him pensively. "Because you seem gentle and serene and I don't see you diving into full melee with a sword in this lifetime." Something in him would have to change drastically in him...or at least she thought so. She could be wrong.
"Which leaves the non battle classes, healing and magic..and you have a certain something that makes me think maybe some kind of magic would like you. But don't mind me I'm still awfully young to be trying to read people."

The Matori boy nodded, "It honestly doesn't seem right to simply leave you on the beach like this when I know I can help." Her compliments made his cheeks flush ever so slightly and the boy shook his head, "Most would just call me absent minded rather than that." He chuckled softly, "But thank you. I suppose I would be quirky enough to be a mage, but I'm not certain of that either. Who knows what the future holds after all?" A small smile lit his features as he shrugged his shoulders at her, "I don't mind when others speak their mind and it seems you're rather open about things which is nice. I'm not offended in the slightest and for someone so young you seem to have a good grasp on others or at least on me."

As he finished speaking he raised a finger to his lips, "Now let's be quiet and see if we can hear some clams whistling in the mud." Emiyn sunk down so that he was crouching on the sands and he tilted his head to try and get a better grasp of the whispering winds that gently flowed about them. If anything he could hear them as long as the breeze was in their favor.

Nin 6

She crouched down as well her small hands placed right in front of her small feet as only a youngling could do. She hadn't thought that clams whistled but you learned something new everyday. She stared at one of the holes inquisitively wondering idmf this was the one. It seemed so quiet on the beach except for the flow of water whispering over the wet sand.

She could only read him so well because she felt so similar to him. A deeper thinker..sometimes a bit more serious than others maybe.

Emiyn 6

As they waited Emiyn found himself closing his eyes briefly, "Sometimes if you mute a different sense you can feel with the others more." Now without sight it was like his hearing was slightly improved - he knew it wasn't going to be an instantaneous thing but he could only imagine how keen one's hearing must be should they lose their sight. His thoughts halted, however, when he finally heard the faintest whisper of noise. Emiyn's gaze shot open and he pointed a few feet away, "Let's check out that area for any clam holes, okay?"

Nin 7

Nin closed her eyes as well and focused on the area he said befire she moved to try and understand how he knew. There were so many sounds to focus on she couldnt pinpoint one in particular that felt clam like.

So she moved over and started to dig feeling rather industreous now that she had made a friend. Or at least she thought she could call him a friend. He was a pretty cool guy. "Hey! I found one! Thank you for teaching me."

Emiyn 7

"Oh you did?" Emiyn smiled as she found the clam before pulling up one of his own from an adjacent hole, "You're welcome. I know it seems silly but maybe if you practice with your eyes closed and listen more it'll help. That or just wandering closer to the muddier areas where the tide goes in and out." He nodded slowly before handing his clam over towards her, "Though I wouldn't recommend doing such a thing without supervision since it is dangerous." The tide could easily sweep away a small child after all and that sacrifice was not worth a few clams.
