Holidays meant that his mistress's stupid boyfriend got an abundant of treats that were sent over the house. Some were from old business partners from the tech company, others were from eager to please employees from the coffee shop, others from rich relatives who sent impersonal gift, or they were sent by people wishing to schmooze to do business with the wealthy young man.

It was the cat with a sweet tooth's dream come true to have nothing but glorious gift baskets filling the kitchen that went mostly untouched until someone, usually Miss Prissy, undid the ties of the cellophane and allowed all of the cats access to the goodies inside.

For the most part he made it a point to avoid the rotten black cat that looked like a turd gone wrong because he had grace and standards the kitten could never live up to.

BUT today he had used the fancy new communicators to reach out to the little crying kitten because Miss Prissy had told him he needed to play nice even though he was her cat, Lace was apparently a friend.

Ugh.

So he invited her over to partake in the goodies with him.

If Silk insisted on joining he would Deal. If someone else showed up...weeeeelll....

It was really by pure chance that Silk happened to waltz into the kitchen at this time, looking over at the large orange cat beside him. He had invited Bob over because, well, yeah, he did like the older cat. Since it was the holidays and some s**t too, he figured he could offer the cat some awesome food, since Chase always kept the fridge stocked.

"So, Bob, how come---"

Silk immediately cut off though as he caught sight of Theodore.

"You---" He hissed, but his narrowed eyes suddenly bulged as he caught sight of another cat who had not expected to ever see in this house. "YOU!" He exclaimed, staring at his sister. "What are you doing here!?"

Lace had arrived as expected and while it was difficult Theodore managed to avoid looking down at her. Well, besides the fact that he naturally looked down at her because he was an adult sized cat verses the pocket kitten she was.

And she'd brought him a gift, which was unexpected but definitely the smart choice for the black kitten.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's put that past us, for Miss Prissy." He waved a paw dismissively because he didn't want to get into another fight about how he was so much better than her and that Miss Prissy clearly loved him most.

That wasn't trying to be the bigger cat in this case.

Now, his eyes had gotten wide, pupils taking up most of the pink, when he was given the gift, immediately - because Silk and that garbage cat had arrived - he drew the gift towards him and was prepared to bat at anyone that attempted to take it from him.



At the sight of the two male cats he turned his nose up. "I invited her." He huffed, scooting his bag closer to him. "I see you brought more garbage inside with you."

It was actually Lace's lucky day that since Theodore was here, the cat was the lightning rod for Silk's bad temper. He also wouldn't be dishing out much to Lace, since he felt this really weird urge to look out for her from Theodore---not that he'd ever admit that. No.

The kitten bristled though as that fruit cake had the nerve to call out Bob.

"This trash is better than the pile of s**t I'm looking at." He hissed. "Even if you put a stupid fancy hat on a pile of s**t, it's still s**t." He was so sure he could glare holes into Theodore, but then his mind finally back tracked enough to remember what else the cat had said. Immediately his look grew suspicious.

"Why did you invite her?"

Pink eyes went from black cat to black cat, settling on Silk in the end.

"Oh, I see you caught sight of your reflection in the tiles, what a pity for you." Theodore quipped back, edges of his mouth curling up in a strange cat sneer that didn't have the proper effect considering his maw was not designed for such feats.

"You can take a cat off the streets but you can't change the where he came from." He rolled his eyes before looking back over at the meeker kitten. To her he said, "It's for us to share. They weren't invited."

But Silk also shared the manor as a home and he couldn't do anything about that.

The hat-thief was blabbering and he squinted at him, knowing that the insult was directed his way but he made no comment about it.

Tentatively he inched forward and licked at it before snatching off a small piece and retreating back over to Lace.

"What an accurate description of yourself, Theodore." Silk sneered right back. "Something to be walked on and over."

He grumbled to himself after that, as Bob tried to be the adult here and reign them in. Man this sucked. ******** Theodore RUINED his day. It didn't matter now that Bob had taken the effort to drag the cake all the way here, and that it did smell divine. He didn't want any part of whatever the other cat was having.

"I'm not having any of that. It looks like condensed PUKE put into a cake tin." Silk settled where he was, hunched on his fours and glaring at nothing in particular until he snapped his attention to his twin sister. "He hasn't been mean to you, has he!?" He demanded of Lace, of course talking about Theodore.

"You're getting repetitive," Theodore drawled, not bothering to glance up at the kitten as he chewed on the cake piece he had swiped over to partake in. If he noticed that Silk refused to enjoy the cake with them because he had, he said nothing.

But he did seem a little more smug than before.

The cake, after all, was terribly delicious and he found his nose twitching after he finished eating each wonderful bite while he debated if he'd try for more. Pink eyes flicked over to the largest cat in the room then over to the cake as he debated.

Deciding that he deserved the cake, he scampered over and took another piece before running off to enjoy it from possible thieves.

"Rather be repetitive than a tool, Theosnore."

Yes, he did pass on the cake still, and would. That's how much his little big pride mattered to him. He was just even more cranky because he wanted to eat but didn't. Silk settled for the time being as they ate, hunkering down, and staring at nothing in particular---right up until Lace seemed to be acting...weird. Like weirder than usual. Call it the twin instincts.

Silk's expression furrowed as he got up and moved over to Lace, staring down at her. "...Lace?" He asked, and reached out to paw her forehead. "Why are your eyes so big?"
