While Nix still didn't think 'patrolling' made a lot of sense, he was starting to feel at least somewhat confident about being out in the world at night, powered up.
And confidence, of course, can lead to carelessness. Like not even realizing that his path was taking him more or less straight at a pretty unmistakably chaos aura--he was too busy thinking about how to pull off a jump he'd come up with earlier in the day.
It was only when he was right on top of her (giving her plenty of time to prepare, certainly) did he realize his mistake, and he skidded to a stop. "Oh crap!" he breathed out, looking around quickly. It was a side street of the city, fairly wide open, but very little traffic, and only the occasional street light to keep things lit. He thought getting away might be workable, but he wasn't ready to just run...he put on a brave face after his brief flash of panic.
This time, he was sure, wouldn't end up like the last time he met a negaverse agent--and there was no question that's what he'd just run into.

Most of the time patrolling was something she did because she had quotas to fill, but now...Marcasite had been spending more time patrolling trying to get rid of the restlessness that was building with in her. Levi had been distant, hard to pin, and kept blowing her off.
Porsha was busy.
Cerisse was entertaining a friend that might be something other than a friend.
She was feeling lonely in the way that someone who knew a lot of people but wasn't close friends with them often felt when their plans seemed to fall through over and over again despite the gaggle of people populating their lives.
So she took to the streets of DC and when she felt the aura approaching. Then, she set her sights on whomever had been unwise enough to fall on her path.
"Come out, come out, where ever you are~"

Luckily, it seemed, the negaverser hadn't seen Nix...though obviously she knew he was there. He considered his options quickly, then dashed out of the open, to maybe ensure he wasn't obviously seen.
Of course, with a white and lime green outfit like his, not being seen tends to be an extremely tall order. Stealth wasn't his strong suit at all. And once he'd come to a stop again, he realized this was the truth, so he just said, "Over here, inspector Clouseau!" and then wiggled the fingers of his open left hand with his thumb placed on his nose.
Antagonizing a negaverse agent he knew nothing about? Maybe not the best choice, but it would at least tell him something about his opponent.

Things became so much simpler when the senshi revealed themselves, the white and green automatically attracting her eye. Adrenaline pulsed in her veins and she reacted the way she'd been taught.
A blink and a teleport later put her directly beside the senshi and she held her weapon fans in both hands, choosing to tap a closed one against the boy's shoulders.
"Surprise," she cooed in a dark, sultry way. The metal fan in her other hand snapped open, pointed mustaches visible in the lighting of the street.

I'll just let her approach some, and then, Nix was thinking...then BIP, no more Agent. His eyes got wide, and then there was a tap, causing him to yelp in a most unheroic fashion, and duck to the side. They teleport! He suddenly remembered.
Not a great thing to forget...
After his momentary panic, Nix continued his ducking into a roll away, and twisted to face toward the woman and her odd mustache fan (A question, What's with those mustaches? intruded on his thoughts briefly, but there wasn't time to reflect). In the moment where he was lined up toward her, he opened his mouth and stuck out his tongue, to fire his own magic--the magic of large, ethereal tongues--straight at her chest.
It probably wouldn't slow her down, he knew, but a sudden distant punch to the boob was hopefully enough to distract her a moment so he could recover and get back to his feet in a more useful defensive position.
Sailor Scout Attack: Tongue Bash
Nix rocks forward, opens his mouth, and creates a large ethereal frog tongue which shoots out up to 15 feet away. It strikes with pretty decent force, able to knock things back, hurt like a hard punch. The attack may leave a bruise if the player chooses to take any lasting damage. Though the tongue is ethereal and can only hit one target per cast, if he hits a small, light object, it may stick to the tongue as it retracts. As soon as the tongue has fully retracted, it disappears. He can do this three times.

The thing she heavily disliked about senshi, y'know besides the fact that her first personal encounter with one had almost ended with her dead pre-negaverse, was that they had a pesky thing called magic.
Magic that never did the same thing and was nearly impossible to predict without proper observation.
That meant that when Nix used his magic, Marcasite had little time to react before a long ethereal tongue connected with her chest and sent her skidding backward. While managing to stay on her feet, the wind was knocked out of her with enough force that she was coughing and distance had been created between them.
Wearing a scowl, the captain threw one of the fans at the senshi.

It worked! That in itself was heartening. He was able to get fully upright, and back from the lady with the…mustache-fan-knives. In spite of the success, he was starting to realize he was pretty outclassed here—she was radiating an angry aura of strength.
And then knives! His eyes went wide as the thing was tossed at him, and he dove to the side. He spared a brief glance at it bouncing off the ground. After a brief consideration of grabbing it, he concluded that wouldn’t work, since he was pretty sure she could just make it appear back in her hand.
He decided to keep his distance for the moment, waiting to see what else she would do. That’s not to say he was idle. As he watched her movement, he tried to subtly shift his position to be nearer a place where he could duck away out of sight. It would take some doing, of course, but if he couldn’t beat her, he definitely wanted a way out.

For a moment, Marcasite stood there to try and catch her breath. Her fingers tapped along the closed fan still in her hand and blue eyes were narrowed, focused on the senshi and his careful movements.
She stepped closer once, then paused. He was up to something, she could tell that much in the way he was holding himself and the not-so-subtle way he was edging elsewhere.
Boots carried her forward, fan snapping open when she moved to close the distance between them and try and get another hit.

It occurred to him that it might be best to get this lady to at least think twice about chasing him if he was gonna run away. What he'd do if somehow he won was something that he couldn't answer.
But this lady was coming at him with throwing knives on a fan! As she barreled down on him again, he shifted slightly to get ready and either duck out of the way or knock her off her footing if she got close.
But before then, he breathed out, sounding every bit as worried as he felt, "Jeez, lady, what're you trying to do? Kill me?" Obviously, she was...but he still wanted to ask. "Those Mario staches look nasty..."

Marcasite merely flashed the senshi a grin. "You can say it's payback for an earlier incident with one of yours." Her arm swung, but if Nix was fast enough it was an easy duck and dodge.
Truthfully it wasn't just that, but it certainly affected her immediate fight response when she came across a senshi. There was training to account for, the fact that her general was fist, and murder, happy, and that the organization that paid her salary and integrated itself into the lives of the important people in her life
"Now if you just...." She used her empty hand to try and reach towards his chest. If she could just get his starseed....

The Captain swung, Nix gasped, and he ducked to the side...the blades of those staches grazing against his glove. It left a mark, and he yelped in surprise more than anything.
He didn't have time to reflect on that, though, as her hand was coming in close. His eyes went wide as he realized exactly where that hand was going...Her fingers got close enough to actually start to press lightly against Nix's chest before he stuck out his tongue at her...and a very large tongue emerged from nowhere (well, really, right in front of his mouth) and swept upward, giving the woman a rather forceful lick to the face, intent on sweeping her up and away.
Hand going for his starseed was enough to convince him: This wasn't a situation he wanted to hang around in... "Bye, Clouseau!" he declared, and lept for all he was worth back and way, into the nearest side-street, intent on ducking out of sight so he could power down and hide without aura to give him away...fight another day.

Due to her close proximity, the tongue hit her hard and sent her sprawling back. It even had enough force to knock her off her feet, balance already thrown off by her attempts at taking the senshi's starseed.
Hitting the ground knocked the wind out of her, breathing hissed through clenched teeth while she tried to push herself up. It took a minute but by the time she was back on her feet the senshi was gone. <********, Marcasite took her leave.
