Another successful hunt, like always. Aquila grinned around the mouthful of fur and neck of the stag that she just caught. Her mouth was salivating at the thought of a good meal. It wasn't typical for her to miss one, but the female was always up for a good meal.

Especially if her company wasn't as successful with his catch. Aquila snickered, light eyes filled with mirth. She dragged her kill towards Miro before plopping down beside it. "You're going to starve at this rate. There's enough for two." Technically, in her case, enough for one. The glutton was a bottomless pit unless sick. Miro was lucky; she was in the mood to share. "Eat up, beta". How he was so high up in his pack was beyond her. Miro was always so pathetic.

All the more reason the male was hers.

Miro had been unsuccessful with his hunt, so far. Mainly because of idle thoughts, but he wasn't about to use it as an excuse. The urge to leave was always there, always present. But... he wouldn't.

And so, time passed by without a single kill. Without even realizing just how long he had been idly thinking, Aquila pulled up with her kill. A stag. Miro gave her a peevish look, not quite glad that she was able to hunt this efficiently by herself.

"No thank you, loner," he growled, turning his nose away from the proffered meal even as his stomach twisted in protest. He was hungry. He was still injured and his slight limp scared off potential prey. A steady diet of berries was no way to live.

An eerie grin creeped up on Aquila's maw. Loner. He was going to have to try better than that to insult her. Being alone was better than being with a pack who---well--- most likely sustained themselves on feelings like "unity" and "togetherness" rather than actual meals.

The more she thought about it, the more she was surprised that Miro survived this long without her. Then again, he was as stubborn as a mule.

"What else are you going to eat, beta. Grass?" She let out a bark of laughter at the thought. How pathetic. She nudged the stag further towards him an impish smirk taking hold of her lips. "Or are you too old to get past the fur? Do I need to chew it up for you?" she flicked her eyes to the stomach and back towards Miro. The idea of humiliating him was too hard to pass up if he said no.

”I don’t need your food or help,” he growled, keeping his eyes steadily away from her.

It was really hard and embarrassing that his stomach was practically crying out to Aquila. He nearly bit his tongue to prevent a groan, his ears twitching uncomfortably. Perhaps he should try fishing… Maybe the water would even help his injury. ”I’m fine,” he told her stubbornly, stomach still twisting. Oh, he wanted to eat so badly.

He stood up unsteadily, intent on finding food on his own. His legs wobbled, his throat tightened. He felt sick. Perhaps… perhaps he should just meekly eat.

But the idea of giving into the female repulsed him even more. Yet… there was a tinge of crave to obey. He may have been a beta in a pack but he was the omega to her. She had made sure of it. His head hung low, ears twitching downwards. ”I’m going for a walk,” he mumbled towards her.

A stark and brash laugh left her maw. It sure looked like Miro needed her help. The fool was too stubborn to accept it. Aquila's grin widened, eyes glinting with mischief. She loved it. There was never a dull moment with the wolf.

She dragged the corpse closer to him. "You sure you don't want some? Take in that scent. Look at the stomach. Nice and fatty." Well, in all honesty, the deer was more muscular than fatty. As much as the others were easier to catch, she liked a bit of a challenge. Killing the slow, elderly or injured just wasn't her cup of tea. Not because she was sympathetic. They deserved to perish if they weren't going to make it in the world. Rather, they were too easy, too boring.

Miro was always the exception to this rule. Someone had to take care of his a**. And she derived too much enjoyment out of him to leave him for dead yet.

Aquila nipped at his ear, quickly getting in front of Miro, blocking his escape. She wasn't going to let him go that easily. "You can't walk like that." It was a surprise that he could even stand. Miro just didn't know when to quit.
