Cybele was out wandering as well. She wouldn't have admitted it. She would've said that she was hunting, but had that ever really been true? The Negaverse was full of dedicated, merciless hunters, and she was nothing compared to them.

She did hunt youma, when she could, and dusting them usually made her feel a little better. At least after those hunts, there were less of the feral kind of monsters walking around town unchecked. Tonight, she didn't feel any chaos auras of any sort around, however, so what might have been a hunt was just a walk. Cybele paced through the streets, letting herself feel the bitter cold through her summery skirts and grinding her teeth out of frustration that she couldn't do anything.

Every once in awhile, patrols yielded something interesting that wasn't a fight, and when she rounded a corner and saw a tiny movement, she began to hope that today might be one of those days. She took a step forwards, and-- yes! Fluff! A cat! While cat youma had been a nasty surprise once or twice, this didn't feel like that. She knelt down and held out a hand, rubbing two fingers together and clicking her tongue softly. "Here, kitty."

When the cat actually talked back, Cybele's eyes widened, her expression showed the mild surprise of someone caught a bit off guard, not the utter shock of someone who had never run into a guardian cat before.

"Oh, you're a guardian," she said, her surprise turning into flushed cheeks and a strained smile. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean any disrespect, but you're very good at hiding. I couldn't tell at all!"

Cybele shifted from her squat into a sitting position with her knees on the ground. She gritted her teeth as the cold concrete sent goosebumps up her legs, but it was worth it to get on the same level as this cat. This... kitten, really. She'd never seen a guardian so little before, or so soft looking, or with such big eyes. She seemed a bit nervous, though, so the senshi didn't reach out towards her any more. "Well, it's nice to meet you. I'm Cybele."

There was something else different, something not quite as cute. "Your star's a little dark. Are you all right?"

Cybele gave a little smile. "Well, it must be a useful skill," she said. She knew that there was more to these little cats than met the eye, but the city was still so dangerous at night. Being hidden and safe was better when it was possible.

"Bellalunae," she repeated. Beautiful moon, she was fairly certain. She'd met Tama, named after the stars, just the other day. She was sensing a pattern. It made sense when they were giving senshi their celestial powers, or even if they simply liked pretty names.

She hesitated at the question. "I wouldn't say I'm an expert on guardians," she said, self consciously drawing out the words. "I have been around for awhile, though, and it's impossible to be a senshi without knowing at least a little about guardians, as far as I know. Then of course I talk to them when I can." She didn't add, and I love cats, all right?

The next question had her even more flustered. "I'm sorry. Usually the stars are yellow, but of course you're a black cat, that was," she grimaced, "Rude."

Of course black brought to mind chaos but this was such a sweet kitten, so that concern just stayed floating in the back of her mind, unspoken.

Cybele pressed her lips together as the kitten smiled. She really wasn't sure if she should be encouraging this. In fact, she very well knew that she shouldn't, and that fact only became more and more clear the more that Bellalunae kept talking. She only knew other dark-starred cats? That very much sounded more like something that had to do with Chaos than something that had to do with fur color. Still, she wasn't about to squish the little kitten, so maybe she could try gently talking it out for once.

The question about how long she'd been around got an internal grimace. She didn't really mind getting questions like that individually, but it seemed like every single person she'd been meeting recently just kept bringing it up and after awhile it was just making her feel old.

"Let's see," she said after a moment, and counted under her breath. "Six years. Even in all that time, I haven't seen all that many cats. Maybe five, and..." she squinted as she tried to remember. "A few yellow stars, I think some other pastels." She paused with a soft smile hiding a pounding heart. "But then again, I am with the White Moon."

She stretched, all casual, and then asked, "And what about you? How long have you been around?" It was a genuine question. Thinking about it, she didn't know much at all about how magical cats ended wandering the city in the first place.
