Name: C'vi, born Clirivi
Age: thirty one turns
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Weyr: High Reaches Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: Trader trained healer
Physical Description: C'vi has dark brown hair that has a slight wave to it. It's often in his eyes, but it's not yet long enough to pull back so he trims it himself. This leads to somewhat jagged waves in front. He has blue eyes, and a just-beginning beard the same shade as his hair. It's thin in places but he's quite proud of it. He has an easy smile.
Personality: C'vi likes to pretend things are all smiles and pies. They were once, anyway, before Thread came back. He's a cheery seeming fellow who smiles quickly and often. Through his grief at losing his family, he's always looked to the future in hopes that things will get better. He seems to believe that somehow, something good will come out of this pain.

He likes to help people; but sometimes a bit forcefully. Not everyone wants to be helped. His compassion for others helps him cope with his grief. He often focuses on one person at a time. The majority of his free time goes to spending hours at R'kesh's side. He knows drinking won't bring back the dead, he's tried telling R'kesh that; it doesn't really help with emotions, either. Things always looked worse through the bottom of an empty cup. C'vi tends to bury his grief in work, or helping others, whether it's wanted or not. While his current project is R'kesh, any small problem may become an interest. Is there a candidate's firelizard stuck on the roof of the barracks? Maybe someone's had an argument with someone they care about. C'vi speaks from experience when he warns that you never know what your last words to someone might be. He encourages kindness, at least thoughtfulness.

C'vi enjoys games with stakes. When he's with a friend, he might suggest a card game. It doesn't have to be anything of value; he just loves the thrill of chance. It could be bubblypies, it could be a plate of meatrolls. It could be that the loser has to take a dip in the cold water during Fall.

Not many people would would attempt to reason with the Weyr's drunks. C'vi heard of R'kesh's misfortune and immediately felt for the man. While R'kesh has pushed him away and made it as difficult as he could for him to help, C'vi has stubbornly persisted. He knows that sometimes bad things happen. But R'kesh still has his dragon, and he's still alive to experience life. Maybe...Maybe things could get better, if he dragged himself out from under that wine skin. He sees something in this man that he doesn't think he would have before Thread took his family. He sees a good man who's been forced by bad circumstances to try and wash those sorrows away.

That would make life so much easier, wouldn't it? If something could do that. Reyinath's constant presence has helped C'vi make it through the last two turns. He's opened up more to others, especially close friends. He's looking more to the future, but he rarely shares how he feels about anything.

Positive Trait List Acts cheerful, looks on the bright side, sees good in everyone, compassionate, self sacrificing, helpful.
Negative Trait List Sensitive, forceful about own ideals (things WILL get better R'kesh, stop drinking!) , panders to people, fails to see warning signs, stubborn, doesn't share own feelings
History: C'vi was born to two traders who drove a small caravan. He was taught from an early age how to navigate. Once he was older, he decided to study healing from one of the caravan's healers. He was never sure whether the man had received formal training, and while he considered himself an apprentice, he didn't feel it was anything to boast about. C'vi learned basic things such as how much felis to give someone, how to bottle numbweed, how not to get ones fingers numb when applying it.

He never expected to be Searched at sixteen. His plans to become a trader were cut short by his parents' insistence that he go.He'd been hesitant to leave them, but at his mother's insistence that they could, in fact function without him, and her reminder that being a dragonrider was a great honor, he agreed. He'd grabbed a bag and left. The Weyr was the biggest place he'd ever been; so many people! He'd been to small gathers, but this place... He hadn't had words to describe it. It'd taken his voice away, and his breath too, as he gazed down from dragonback.

He remembered the dragonrider's words then, during the hatching that happened only weeks after. "You'll have to get used to that view."

He Impressed the first time he stood at sixteen turns old. Reyinath had taken his time in deciding, having bumped into him twice during his rounds. The brown had played around the sands, knocking candidates over, pouncing on his clutchsibs. At least he hadn't hurt anyone.

Have you decided to play with me, Cliviri? I tried to get you to play with me, but you wouldn't. That's no fun! We'll have to make sure to have fun all the time now. Hey! Why are you wearing that? The brown had tugged on C'vi's robe, the teenager was too stunned to react. Had he really? He'd really Impressed?

Really you're mine, now, we have to pause in our game. I'm hungry! Let's play after!

Life was wonderful. Life was as bright as a gold dragon's hide during a flight. C'vi had never felt so happy in his life. It continued that way for a while. For fourteen turns, life was peaceful. He made friends, he learned how to gamble, he met other riders and learned his position in his wing. He didn't figure Thread would ever be something they would have to experience. Not in their lifetime, it'd been gone so long. He doubted it would ever come back.

He was wrong. That mentality broke him. The realization that he could have believed and warned his family, instead of knowing that they were gone... It broke his heart. He fell into a heavy depression. His whole caravan, everyone he'd grown up with. His teacher. He came out of that only recently, having focused his efforts on assisting a drunk. His heart went out to R'kesh. He knew what losing people felt like. He thought he could help. While helping R'kesh he's slowly begun to, with Reyinath's help, bounce back to his former self.
Other: Anything else you want to add?

DRAGON
Name: Reyinath
Age: Fifteen turns
Color: Brown
Size: 36'
Physical Description:
Personality: Reyinath is one of the gentlest, humblest dragons one could hope to meet, at least until they anger him. People may find this easier done than they expect. Despite being small, this brown's got a strength about him. He's a talkative fellow, but though he talks often enough, he doesn't seem to always get his point across. He tends to ramble without any particular meaning to his words, though he seems to put a lot of thought into them. That's alright though! He has C’vi, and he's sure he will always understand him.

That's part of the reason Reyinath chose him. C’vi is understanding and cares for others, even sacrificing his free time to assist others. Reyinath loves him for it. Not only that, but C’vi most certainly needed Reyinath to take care of him. C’vi is curious and creative, but he might eventually get himself into trouble with that curiosity of his. Reyinath knows better. He knows how to ask questions, how to see the world like the others do—and he prefers his own. Reyinath has a playful, curious approach to all things. Did C’vi see how blue the sky is today? It is very blue today. Bluer than even his eyes on a good morning. Reyinath wants to know why. Is it really blue? Does the ocean reflect on the sky, or does the sky reflect on the ocean? This brown has a terrible curious streak; and he will probably be asking questions as often as any young cretcheling.

This dragon is bubbly in addition to his eternal curiosity. He may cause more serious dragons to groan with his antics. He’ll bound over happily to greet anyone, especially his clutchmates; his love of life bubbles to the surface as he tries to infect all others with the joy that is living. Nothing could be more unsettling than the frowning face of his rider, and he’ll focus on making him smile until he has done so. The unhappy faces of others, well. He doesn’t have time to fix all of Pern’s problems. Maybe they should swim! Or sun! Maybe laying out in the sun for a few hours would do them some good. Or finding someone else to talk to—maybe taking a flight around the Weyr. What else could anyone desire?

Reyinath, however, knows when to stop doing something. Unlike C’vi, who does not know when to call it quits (for surely he would’ve stopped trying to get R’kesh to stop drinking by now!) Reyinath knows when it's time to flee. He may be stubborn, but he isn't all adventure, fun and games. He has a certain talent for self-preservation.

Dragon Art or Proof of Obtainment: I won Reyinath in the raffle Wish had about winter drinks.
