Pyrophanite was a captain that was out and about usually only at night time. It made it easier in the winter (GOD HE HATED THE COLD, as he bundled the jacket closer to him) because not many people cared to look at him.
His civilian glamour was only three hours long, as he tested it every night to see how long before the brown red scales took over his face again. He never regained the right sight though and that was a bummer.
But not during the winter because it was the easiest way to grab his quota's especially from the almost half dead homeless. They had weaker heat signatures in the cold and it was easy to slip his hand in and take their starseed and move on.
They were dying in the cold anyways, he was doing them a fair mercy kill. One starseed was popped in his mouth as energy flowed through him.

Hermes did not appreciate the cold, either.
He was a creature of warmth, without the actual creature part; someone who was much more suited to climates above seventy degrees rather than ones that involved too many layers. The cold permeated everything, sinking into bones and body until limbs were frigid and breath was visible and the air was a bright, terrible thing around him.
His uniform was thankfully long sleeved, even if it did look a painstaking mess to take off. Not that Hermes had any inkling to take it off anytime soon, his booted feet making muffled thumping noises as he strode along the streets, snow falling gently around him. Everywhere around him was quiet and muted, the only sounds that of the soft rustle of snowfall and the occasional sound from a late night building.
And - footsteps. And a power signature, a strange one, warped somehow. Hermes slowed his steps, eyes narrowing, and felt it grow stronger as he rounded a corner. A figure stood a short distance away, hooded and dark in the yellowish lighting from the street lamps.
Oh my god could they come up with anything better for a greeting.
Pyro turned and looked over the young looking senshi of basic level and snorted.
A hand came out and started to shoo the thing away.
"Go away little boy. Adults are doing work here." Pyro snaked his free hand in an almost already half dead homeless man, lifting them in the air to pull his seed out.
The body hit the concrete with a loud crunch and the snake boy was moving on to the next one.

Hermes did not appreciate being shooed away. He appreciated even less the insinuation that he had no idea what he was doing, or that he wasn't worth even the lowest of attention, and that this man was pulling starseeds out of chests like it was a normal, everyday occurrence.
He basically appreciated none of this, but most of all, the patronizing attitude.
"I beg your pardon," said Hermes icily. He still couldn't see much of the other, but the voice was rasping and low and grating. "But I don't believe I asked you whether or not you were an adult doing work. Give me that starseed and get out of here, you reek of Chaos."
He made a grab for the starseed, Hermes's fingers grappling at the other's wrist.
The minute the senshi touched his wrist though, Pyro let loose his gas*, stepping in really close so Hermes got the full effect of it.
"Hope you weren't REALLY trying to get me like that kid!" Even though Pyro is a kid still too.
"Hasn't your mommy ever told you not to talk to Strangers?"

*Pyro breathes out a large cloud of poison, that remains stagent in the air. It causes mild dizziness and paralyzing of limbs up to at least 30 seconds. The haze is a thick black smog, and can be inhaled or absorbed through skin. Only Pyro can move through the haze without being effected.

He had no idea what on earth he'd stepped into.
One second he'd been simply trying to stop this moron, the next, a haze of smoke was curling around him, black and thick and toxic. Hermes let out a gasp of surprise, which only dragged more of it into his lungs, a terrible, nauseating stiffness sweeping throughout his body.
"What - on earth - "
It came out sounding half strangled and hoarse through dry lips and a dryer throat. Hermes swayed unsteadily, fingers loosening instinctively around the man's hand.
Pyro thought the only one that was a moron here was Hermes. The senshi took a full whiff of smoke and that made this captain's life super easy.
"Oh man." Pyro caught the senshi around the waist, and then casually tugged at the chest bow. "There, there. It's all gonna be over soon." The captain grinned under the mask, and then pulled it up. Surprisingly normal blue eyes looked at Hermes.
"Just your friendly neighborhood Snake boy." He waited, "with a real hunger for starseeds and energy."
One more pause.
"So, Hope you don't mind me getting all frisky here for a second." He was really after that chest.

He felt his lungs constricting, trying to drag in air, the blackness swirling around him. Hermes had never felt anything like it before, dizziness washing over him in waves, making his head spin, bile rising in his throat; he clamped down on a strong urge to vomit, but just barely.
A hand rose and pressed against his mouth, Hermes' icy blue eyes snapping up to meet the other's.
He wasn't human. He couldn't possibly have been human, not with those scales crawling across his face, not with everything about him reeking of Chaos and slithering and creatures underneath a rock. Hermes sucked in a sharp, startled breath and coughed, gasping.
"Get away from me!" he snapped, shoving at the other's hand, trying to get himself away, but whatever the fog was doing was making him sway unsteadily, his body refusing to move. "Don't touch me!"
Pyro grinned. He loved when the weaker ones struggled and stuff. They asked for this, what did they expect?
"Aww, Don't touch me, boo hoo." Pyro mocked, "I came over thinking things were gonna be easy and I could just stop the bad guy." The snake curled inside his head, telling him to bite. to take. to feed.
A starseed from a senshi would be so yummy right now.
"But its not always easy, is it." The boy's voice sunk and slithered and deepened.

Out in the way, Altais could feel the clash of the stronger chaos aura, matching his own and one smaller weaker aura of order. It had been his month of rescuing other senshi from captains and made him worried that he might not make it.
"Hold on friend!" The shockwaves senshi shot through the night, moving quickly towards the two warring aura's.

He had no idea what he'd gotten himself into, no idea who this creature even was or what he was. Hermes was gasping for breath, but he could feel the magic beginning to wane - magic, or whatever it was that had kept him so dizzy he could hardly move.
He threw out a hand, trying to shove the other away, feet sliding on the ground. Hermes was dimly aware of another aura pulsing nearby, a distant shout that turned into faint footsteps, but he was absolutely not going to die here, he could not let this happen.
"Fool Me Once!" he shouted, breathless and hoarse, coughing.

Fool Me Once: The opponent experiences an unnerving black shadow, disorienting and confusing them. It's nothing more than wispy vapors, but the shape is vaguely and alarmingly familiar (i.e. it FEELS as though they should know who it is, but don't), and Hermes holds no control over his illusion's actions, either at this stage or any other. This attack lasts for 25 seconds and provides a distraction for the opponent three times per battle.
Pyro started pulling his hand back to shove in the senshi's chest but he summoned some weird magic and the snake half youma hissed in response.
At first he was like...what is going on? There was not many things that effected him usually and magic that effected vision usually didn't really....do anything.
But out of the corner of his eye, his attention was drawn to a moving blue blob. It swayed left and right and he narrowed his eyes before looking back at Hermes...
And then the blue shape.
"Whoa did you like summon a ghost?" Apparently the shadow of his magic

Altais moved quicker until he was over the pair of aura's, dropping down.
"Oh." He looked at Pyrophanite signing, "It's you again.

"Uh oh, pretty boy again!" Pyrophanite frowned, "Don't come any closer shockwaves nerd. Or this weakling gets it!

He was gasping for breath again, still trying to get his lungs in working order. Hermes twisted around, trying to free himself from the creature's grasp, and leveled a malevolent look in his direction, blue eyes like chips of ice in his flushed face.
"Let - me go - "
There was someone else there - he could feel the stronger power signature abruptly close now, Hermes' head swimming. A senshi with sandy colored hair was staring at them, looking somewhat resigned - which made little sense, all things considered, because this was a monster.
Hermes twisted his elbow around and tried to jam it into the creature's side, which, considering how little he participated in any sort of physical activity, likely did very little, but still.
Altais clucked his tongue and casually stepped over anyways. His gaze was on Pyrophanites, but it did drop a moment to Hermes who was doing his best to struggle away from the snake half youma.
It was like looking at a hamster in a snake's grip and everything about Pyro's aura seemed to swirl and spread over the senshi in possessiveness. Each step he took closer to the half youma, was returned with a step back and hiss.
"I do not reason with those who do not reason." The shockwaves senshi slammed his fist on the ground, summoning his magic. "Shockwave Crumble!*" The ripples caught both of them and Altais used the shock to snag Hermes as Pyro dropped him, falling to his knees.

"Son of a b***h!" The monster did let go, as Hermes elbowed him enough to hurt AND his legs turned to ******** jelly. HE HATED Altais so much, HATED him.
"You piece of s**t...." The half youma started to release the poisonous gas but as Altais scooped Hermes away from him, they were to far away for his gas to take effect.
The only thing left was to teleport away, as Altais ONCE again stopped him from taking his prize.
"I'm gonna remember this pretty boy." Pyro teleported away, disappearing from them and taking his gas and aura with him.

Altais calls his name and forms fist with both of his hand, bringing it down on the ground. From his hand, There is a more visible effect as the ripples form on the ground, sending out a large wave. The ripples spread out in a 9 foot circled radius around him, for 30 seconds. Everyone caught in the radius, feels as if their legs have turned to jelly, making it hard to move at all. Uses: 2

The shockwaves were - well, to be ironic, a shock, mostly because Hermes had yet to see anyone that actually had as powerful magic as this senshi did. And to his own surprise, his elbowing of the creature had resulted in - besides a throbbing pain in his own arm - a release of himself, Hermes staggering forward out of its grasp.
He was mobile for only a split second before the other senshi caught him, and then they were airborne, and the snarling snake was gone, along with the foul, poisonous order.
Hermes, being Hermes, managed a grudging thank you, but spent the next several moments trying not to be violently ill.
