Nereid was feeling a bit better now about going out and patrolling and doing all the work for the order side of things. In fact, besides the lime haired corrupt senshi, Nereid's battle phases had resulted in her fleeing after losing a couple hit points (Or severe blows to the physce looking at you Carnelian).
Sedna had carried bats around but the waterfall senshi didn't think that was nesscary so she continued her patrolling with just herself.
When she felt the chaos order, her gaze whipped around and she pulled her senshi phone out to play some incoming enemy music.
for dramatic effect.
"Hey you there!" Oh boy another corrupt! She could tell by the long hair and...antlers??????

Fighting was almost certainly not in Almandine's strong suit.
He had little experience in anything physical, especially involving combat. And her certainly didn't have a lot of experience in those of the opposite faction, barring Arachne and the others that came with Arachne. He wasn't used to any of this powered life at all, if he was being completely honest with himself.
Which was possibly why he just stood there and squinted at the senshi he'd run into when he did, in fact, run into her.
The battle music continued to play between them for a long - overly long - moment of silence while Almandine just stared, and the world around them kept going about its daily business, and possibly an imaginary tumbleweed or two rolled between the two of them.
Finally, he said, "Who...are you?" in a very slow, concerned sort of voice.
Maybe he was hallucinating.

'I'M VERY GLAD YOU ASKED!!!" Nereid shut the music off and smiled at the corrupt senshi. "Its important to know your enemies when you are intitiating a battle phase! It's to bad you don't have one of those stat seeing tools, but we make do!"
She took a breath, "My name is Nereid! I am the senshi of Waterfalls, and I'm here to stop you from doing your...uh....MISDEEDS!" She pointed at the corrupt and gave him double finger guns.
"Oh, uh, are you ready to battle or do you need a minute?"

Almandine had no idea what she was saying.
His mind was a slow thing, working carefully to sort through important details and unfolding questions and figuring out responses, all of which took a considerable amount of time and effort. It explained the sometimes prolonged silences while he stared unblinkingly at people, less so that he was staring at them to be creepy and more so that he was just figuring out how to respond.
Like now.
It was at least a full minute until Almandine spoke again, painstakingly trying to understand and failing completely at it.
"By misdeeds, do you mean the Negaverse?" he asked, and then took a step forward, the bells of his uniform jingling a little as he moved. "I haven't done any misdeeds yet, tonight, I suppose you could say, but if you really would like to battle, it's likely inevitable."
Almandine's gaze moved up and down her form, frowning a little.
"What are you?" he asked, because tact also wasn't exactly a thing that Almandine had learned to use well.

Wow he was kind of slow on the uptake.
That was okay, maybe it was a loading thing.
She waited patiently as he spoke and then answered as he asked.
'Yes of course! I mean not all negaverse are bad I'm sure." She stopped, and then cleared her throat. "I mean I don't wanna battle but thats how you get the EXP and stuff! Plus you said you haven't tonight so if I beat you, then you can't do it for the rest of the night right?" She moved closer.
"I just said. I'm a senshi! Of waterfalls!" She nodded, "So are you ready?"

It was indeed a loading thing. If Almandine had been a console, the loading screen would have been slowly going in circles while someone smashed their keyboard in impatience. As it was, he did at least manage to process that she was a senshi and that she was someone who was going to fight him and something about "expee" which made no sense to him, but seemed important.
"Ye..s?" Almandine said, because this seemed the right answer. "I suppose so."
Maybe.

Nereid was actually kind of worried about this senshi.
Like a little bit worried.
"Man are you sure?" She supposed if she had too....."Well okay here we go! My special move...Waterfall Wall!*"
Not that it would do damage but well.....Kuropeco *Nereid calls the name of her attack, and holds out her arms. A thick circle of 6 feet water appears over her intended target's head and then comes crashing down. It acts as a wall between the target and everyone else, and last for 25 seconds. Anyone in the circle of 6 feet cannot move outside of it until the attack is over, and vice versa, anyone outside the circle cannot force themselves in. She can use this attack twice.

He was sort of prepared, for the most part.
Sort of.
Maybe not.
The water came sweeping towards him in a rush of cold, and Almandine let out a small sound of surprise, staggering backwards. He twisted around, wiping water out of his eyes, and tried to figure out what had happened, but there was cascading water everywhere, and he couldn't move past it.
"Oh - Reindeer Ride - " he gasped out, somewhat belatedly, feeling his heart thud in his chest as he thrust out his arms in a random direction. Whether or not it actually was the right direction was a different story.Pixie Nyxie Reindeer Ride - Almandine calls on his magic and shoots a beam of light towards his opponent. They will feel as though they are being pinned to a surface by antlers - they do not actually need to be up against a surface to experience this, it is just the sensation of being pinned. This feeling will last about fifteen seconds, and feels weaker if the opponent is stronger. It is possible for this to lightly bruise but less likely if his opponent is of a higher power level.

well now what did she do? Battles were hard. After all she wasn't just gonna go upright and punch him?
right that's not what you did right?
"Er are you WHOA!" The attack hit her shoulder and she felt the breath get knocked right out of her, it felt like she was being pinned by something heavy even though there was nothing here.
"Ouch ouch ouch." She pushed at air until the pain disappeared and then looked at the senshi as the waterfall barrier disappeared. "What was that???"

He heard the senshi yelp and felt a small surge of relief that his magic had hit - and then felt a secondary sense of guilt that it had, because Almandine was not used to injuring anyone else. It felt somehow wrong, but he pushed past it, trying to push past the water that was still surrounding him.
"Reindeer magic," Almandine called over the sound of rushing water. He pressed a gloved hand to the stream and felt a resistance, an invisible wall. "It's supposed to feel like you've been run into by a reindeer."
The water dissipated in a splash of magic. Almandine staggered forward, crashing into Nereid without actually intending to, feeling his feet skid on the ground beneath him.

Nereid caught the senshi but the weight and unexpectedness of it sent them both crashing.
In response though, she wrapped his head so he didn't get hurt!
'Whoa!" She hit her own head though, hearing the painful smack and feeling it. "Ouch."
Wow look at those stars and reindeers circling her head.

He felt awkward and ungainly as he collided with the senshi, Almandine trying to extricate her from her grasp and failing at it. He also probably somehow managed to accidentally shove a knee or maybe an elbow into her stomach; there were too many limbs and not enough space, and everything was very confusing.
"Apologies - ouch - "
His antlers - that damned crown, or whatever it was - had gotten tangled in her hair, and now he couldn't free himself, Almandine's hands rising to try and tug himself free.
It was not working very well.
"Ow."

While her head ached, and elbows and stuff where digging in, she just held a hand up and made small movements.
"Hold on there buddy boy." She huffed a breath, laying still underneath him. "We keep struggling and ouch...my hair...look if we keep struggling then we are just unnecessarily beating each other up." She reached up too, working her fingers where her hair had been caught and tangled.
It put their faces dangerously close, but she was focused on the task at hand. "You know in otome's, this is where the hero kisses the heroine." She said as if that was such a natural thing to say in conversation.
"wait..almost..got it...." She reached down and patted his cheek as hair and crown finally came untangled.

Almandine was not used to being called buddy boy and was concerned about whether or not this was going to be a recurring nickname. The other pink haired corrupt had called him something like...Prancer or Dancer or some other such thing he couldn't recall at the present moment.
Not when his antlers were still stuck in Nereid's hair, but he stopped struggling so much and just let her move around to try and free each other. Her hands at least seemed more nimble than his own.
The close proximity went largely unnoticed. Almandine's brows furrowed together, blinking owlishly over at the senshi. "What's an otome?" he asked, frowning slightly, more out of thought than anything else. "Is it a movie genre? I haven't heard of it before."
They finally came undone. Almandine straightened, running a hand through his hair. "And I'm sorry, but I can't kiss you, I have someone else I kiss," He informed her somberly.

It totally was gonna be.
"Otome is a dating sim game! You just like...date people. It's complicated but some of them can be really fun! Some people like them because they can't-" She widened her eyes and then laughed.
"You're funny!" She sat up and crossed her leg, fixing her hair and replacing her hair clip in it. "I wasn't asking for one. I also have someone else! Sort of. I mean we kissed a couple of times...."
She waited, "I mean that makes her important to me right? I MEAN I GUESS I SHOULDN'T TELL YOU." She got up. "We can call a truce yeah?" She waved a sleeve.
