Amocat was one of the earliest Mammalien settlements seized outside of the SeattleTacoma megaopolis region. During this purge and raid, many humans and mammaliens died, or were captured, or seemed to disappear. Several captured were killed or subjected to further experimentyation. The very young were used for experimenting, including several conversion tests to see if an organic to reploid conversion could go Maverick: Including but not limited to Laxo and Forza. After a point, several mammaliens, with outside assistance, revolted, resulting in Maverick Hunter intervention. At this point the reploids created on for Lewis-McChord were considered rescued and released by Maverick Hunter and summarily disappeared.

Mammaliens whom survived the Hunter raid on Lewis-McChord via lesser forms escaped to the Seattle/Tacoma Megaopolis. In order to cover up the escape, a mechaniloid was planted to begin razing Tacoma... And once the desired number of civilians escaped, the entire section of the Megaopolis was bombed with non-nuclear weaponry. Being a 'Slum' district, Tacoma was not rebuilt by the Government, leaving the land and ruins open to wildlife to claim. However, the Mammalien and Reploid occupants hiding survived thanks to 'Glitch', one of the Experiments operating in S-Mode combined with G-Mode and several users of SHOSHA technology to manufacture a shield to keep out the bombs. Hiding in the center of Tacoma, the human and reploid settlers soon created appearance of vagabonds and homeless along with hologram technologies to create the illusion of citizens of Tacoma banding together to rebuild -- not entiurely untrue, however, it allowed the forces under Maalis and Grunn to believe all Mammalien resistance was wiped out.

The Tacoma settlement does not communicate outside of itself often beyond contact with the Reploids -- most children sold by human or mammalien parentsd to the pair in exchange for safety or money. Not bearing the Maverick branding, most operate outside of the settlement as needed to smuggle supplies and goods not already easily collected in Seattle, and several serve as plants in organizations like Maverick Hunter to observe activity and watch for other settlements.

While SHOSHA is a technology employed, the Tacoma settlement enjoys the fruits of having survived Lewis-McChord: secondary technologies include bio-weaponry, especially chemical, and the Reploids whom reside dominantly enjoy experimental technologies, such as Glitch's G and S states, or the weapontry associated to project Wyrmblood in creating a Dragoon-based Reploid for direct meleee-rooted combat. While many prefer trying to live close to organic, most know well to remain in practice.

To note, Tacoma bears two elders - Alexandria Ciudini, a human, and a Reploid known as Soprano, a bridge developed using stolen data from Stark Industries.
