Sexual Orientation: Unknown
Craft: Weyrbrat - Studied a bit of Bakercraft
Rank: Candidate
Location: High Reaches Weyr
Physical Description: Lusialu is the youngest daughter of Alusia and (allegedly) Cahlumet. There's no real guarantee that the man is her father, though, and her mother isn't saying a word about the reality. Where Alusia is tall and thin, Lusialu is short, and delicately boned. Where her mother is fair skinned and curvy, Lusialu is darker skinned, and has less curve. She has large, grey eyes, and long dark brown hair, and certainly looks different than her siblings. She's in a bit of the awkward wherry stage, where her body is changing in to that of a mature woman, but she's still a bit in transition. She does hope one day she'll come out looking just as lovely as her siblings and mother (she will), but right now, she's very much in doubt of such a miracle.
Personality: The first thing people notice about Lusialu is that...they don't notice. Having grown up with the mother, sister, and brother that she did, this young girl was both spoiled, but also (albeit unintentionally) overshadowed. Her mother raised her like she did Alumet and Cahlusi, but unlike her older siblings, who essentially were raised primarily by Alusia in their home, her mother was also resettling their entire life, and healing from an abusive relationship. While the young baby wasn't neglected, she did spend more time brought up with other weyrbrats and in the creche than either her older siblings. While some children did well in the creche, Lusialu was a bit too quiet and reserved. Where others jumped in immediately to play, this young girl would keep more to herself; when volunteers were needed, Lusialu would often hesitate. It wasn't that she didn't want to join the other children -- but she was quite shy, and never seemed to know what to say. Additionally, her gentle, caring heart often meant she wanted to give others an opportunity to be in the limelight. Growing up in the family that she did, Lusialu learned from an early age to defer to her siblings, and in turn, grew up learning how to defer to other, more boisterous and needy personalities.
Not because the girl didn't like attention, no, but because it was simply the right thing to do. She adored her siblings, and would much rather hear their stories, than speak of her own. Besides which, her mother always told her her time would come; so she waits. Where she might not look like Alusia, the girl certainly inherited her mothers endless patience. She is never one to be in a rush, and has no problem letting others go before her. If she misses an opportunity, but friends and family are able to experience it, then that's just fine for her. She is an overly giving young woman, and that can be as good as it can be bad.
While Alusia always instilled a healthy dose of confidence in her children, and supported them however they needed, young Lusialu was always a bit more of a mystery. Where Cahlusi and Alumet were open and gregarious, the dark-haired girl was more shy; where Cahlusi and Alumet grew up to take the world by storm, Lusialu simply stood back to watch. She never wanted to get underfoot, or in the way of their attention. Thankfully, her siblings were close, and never neglected her for long -- much to her inner delight.
A good child, the young girl was always helpful -- she would help with the chores, or do what her elder siblings said, with little objection. There is little fuss or fight in her tender-heart, and she follows orders and commands well. She is not the sort of girl to fight authority, and will do whatever she must to ensure a job well done. Lusialu loves, more than anything, to make her family proud. She wants, above all else, their attention, and of course, their approval.
Where they are able to light up a room, Lusialu is more of a wall-flower. She prefers to watch, to listen, and to observe. If she notices someone down, left-out, or otherwise rejected, she is the sort to try to make them feel better; though she is often reserved, if given an opportunity to do good, or make someone's day, the quiet young girl will do so. She will remember your nameday, she will remember your name, and she will try her hardest to make you smile. If she can care, and nuture others, then she will, whether they want such attention or not. She does rather enjoy picking out a project, to help them succeed in something Lusialu might feel they're lacking.
When around family, or friends, while not entirely less reserved, she does tend to open up a bit more. Her loving nature is present; she enjoys physical contact, and craves affection, similar to her brother and sister...though not yet on such an adult level. She isn't nearly as flirty as anyone in her family. Not because she's disinterested, she just... hasn't found anyone to turn her head. It's safe to say Lusialu is far more discerning than either her sister or brother, and far too young!
Ah, but one thing the young girl did inherit, is a strong sense of envy. Though she would never admit it, part of her is terribly envious of her siblings, and even her own mother. The way they ease through life, head high, and without fear; how they take to lovers without worry, how beautiful they all grew up... She doesn't feel beautiful -- especially at this age -- and she certainly feels like she has all the grace of a watch-wher! Her sister is now a gold rider of High Reaches -- how is she not supposed to feel a bit jealous? There is no way she will ever live up to that.... and she can't help but feel a bit, left out. To have them both Impress, to have them both find their place in the Weyr... Ah, but the young girl can't help but fight that envy. What can't her siblings do? And what now shall she ever accomplish to stand out on her own?
All she wants to do is shine, and it's a goal she hasn't yet quite figured out how to achieve.

History: Lusialu was born and raised in High Reaches Weyr. She was Alusia's youngest daughter. Her paternal line is questionable, though for the moment she's assumed to simply take more after her father, Cahlumet, then her older siblings. Raised in the creche, with a heavy-dose of her mother on the side, Lusialu stuck close to her mother's skirts, or following her older brother and sister around. As the baby, she was coddled, and spoiled immensely -- but unlike Alumet and Cahlusi, Lusialu also grew up in the creche, and not simply under Alusia's sole care. While this meant she got to grow up fully supported by the Weyr, it also meant her time with her mother, brother, and sister, was more limited.
Unlike her more outgoing siblings, Lusialu was a bit more reserved. She was always a gentle, tender child, who was sensitive to criticism, but also sensitive to the desires of others. While she tried to emulate Alumet and Cahlusi, she also was the first to defer to them; if there was a fight, she would usually, quickly, let one of the others win; if there was a squabble for attention, Lusialu often let her siblings speak up, or more vocal children in the creche. Overall, she was known as a good girl, a sweet child, and she seemed to prefer hanging out with her mother in the kitchens than anywhere else.
For the most part, her life has been rather unremarkable. Part of Lusialu doesn't mind -- she wasn't a trouble maker, she didn't find herself in the wrong circles, and she stayed well out of trouble much of her life. But as she's grown, another part of the girl cant help but envy the ease with which er siblings stormed the Weyr.... and can't help but start to wonder when she might find their confidence, when she might someday get to shine. She isn't asking for the world's attention, but Lusialu has a jealous streak a mile wide, and though she hides it, she can't help but envy.
Her brother is a blue rider, who never lacked for attention or company, and always seemed to live life as if the world were his. And her sister had always been so popular, and never without friends; and no she had a gold! On the eve of her standing as a Candidate, her sister was now a gold rider. With Alumet in such a coveted position, it wouldn't matter what she Impressed, if she Impressed at all...
Though she would never, ever, admit such feelings, she still can't help having them. Is it wrong to want attention and live a glamorous life? Or is it better to accept what she cannot change, and simply be glad that her family is still all in one place, and alive?
Once she turned ten, she began to help in the kitchens, just like her mother. While her real passion is in scents and perfumes -- she loves anything that smells good, and adores playing with her mothers perfumes -- she also has a fondness for good food. Baking and cooking was something she grew up watching her mother do, and took to helping her from a young age, whenever she was allowed. Little things turned into bigger things, and more important steps; and as she aged, she began studying and training under those more classically trained.
But Candidacy called, and most recently, she officially took her right to stand. She isn't sure what to expect, if to expect anything at all. Her mother never Impressed, and Impression could mean an early death.... but Pern needs its fighters. If she can at least help give Pern another day, then it would be all worth it, wouldn't it?
Other: No idea who her father is. Could be Cahlumet, could be someone else. By the time Lusialu was conceived, Alusia had long-given up being faithful to Cahlumet.
