Name: F'ell (formerly Farimell)
Age: 17 (3558.) july 28
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Demisexual, with biromantic tendencies

Weyr: Western Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: Sr. Apprentice Harper/Painting and Sculpting

Physical Description: There are many common ideas for what a painter should look like, a sort of romantic dream of a handsome man who is thin yet toned, a perfect image to match his craft. That is not F'ell, will never be F'ell, and you'll never even find someone like that in his paintings. He is tall and strong, his height easily topping 6' despite still growing (likely a perk from his father), with muscles that clearly show beneath his clothing. Turns of working with hard materials such as stone or heavy clay have turned his hands rough and harsh, but tempered his body into its own work of art. Of a sort.

His hair can only be described a bird's nest, with thick and dark brown-black curls often puffed up around his head and covering his equally dark brown eyes. Usually he wears his hair pulled back into a ponytail or bun, which gives the appearance of having a massive, hairy ball stuck to the back of his head. It's not uncommon to see something sticking out of the hair puff, as F'ell likes to place paintbrushes or anything else he "might need later" into the mass for convenient storage. Overall his general sense of attire is not much better, as the teen doesn't care about his looks. Often dirty from work, or from his hobbies he keeps up during his off-hours, F'ell doesn't take pride in his appearance and doesn't bother to try.

When asked if F'ell has any clothes that don't look as though they've never seen water or soap, the teen doesn't know.

Personality: From a young age, F'ell has never really cared about the thoughts or opinions of those around him. While a blessing in many cases, as it allowed him to shrug off bullies or taunts or any sort of negativity, it was also in a curse in that he failed to make any lasting connections with others. He simply never cared what they thought, and in turn those who liked him were always treated the same as those who hated him. The result of his neither-here-nor-there attitude has caused F'ell to be a slow bloomer in relationships of any kind, and apparently he doesn't mind. Companions aren't high on his list of wants and he'd prefer being alone to having to hold a conversation. His conversational skills have severely been hampered due to his lack of use, and when he talks he stammers or stutters as he tries to keep his words in line with what his brain is thinking.

As a result of his dismissive attitude towards others, and his innate desire to not care about anything, F'ell has actually developed a rather positive outlook on people. His refusal to look too deeply into a person's background or personality makes him perfect to work with nearly anyone, allowing the teen to nearly seamlessly slip into any role asked of him. He get along rather well with others, in his own opinion, as he doesn't try to improve his value their eyes nor does he weigh theirs in his. He's not doing what he does to make friends, but rather to get the task done. This level of non-judgmental also has him come in handy when a neutral party is needed to break up an argument or decide an outcome, as F'ell is never invested enough to be biased.

There is, however, a time when F'ell is not biased or nonchalant, and that is when something his absolutely adores comes into play. Excessively passionate about his hobbies (not enough to stop and talk about, sadly), anything and everything that can manage to snag F'ell's attention is treated as though it's the only thing that matters. It would taste a lie to say he was the type to pick someone up and swiftly discard it once it became boring, as F'ell is the type to devote his entire being into whatever he starts. As a result of this he's quite skilled at whatever he puts his mind to since it's the only thing he actually wants to put effort towards.

All that effort and passion mixed well with the boy's creativity, as he uses what he knows to try and solve problems long before they can actually become issues. While not entirely altruistic, if his problem solving helps someone else, F'ell prefers to live an easy life that doesn't involve too much thinking and too much worrying. He prefers to do things outside of the box when able, though he's perfectly capable of following a step-by-step process. He's always first to (silently) volunteer to figure out a solution to something, or the type to try it on his own, and his unique approach has helped him along the way.

Positive Trait List Creative, selectively passionate, non-judgemental
Negative Trait List Thoughtless, slovenly, apathetic

History: The result of a union between the Brownrider, V'mel and a worker in the creche of High Reaches, Farimell came about during the aftermath of a Gold Flight - or so he'd been told. Raised with love and caring by his mother, who spoke often and fondly of his father, Farimell lead an uneventful and charming early life. He helped when asked, caught glances of his father at work now and then, and grew up to be a silent, but useful, child. His love of arts and crafts manifested at in his very early youth, with drawings on the walls leading to mud statues in beds. With an interest slowly becoming more than a hobby, his mother made a choice.

Farimell came to Haper Hall at a rather young age, sent by his mother when she asked if he'd enjoy putting his talents for painting to use. The answer was fairly simple, he'd like to get out and away from the crowds in the Weyr more than anything, and thus he was bundled up and sent on his way. The Hall was far more crowded than the Weyr, much to Farimell's horror an reluctant acceptance, and he failed to thrive upon initial arrival. Too many people wanted to talk to him, too many people wanted to know about him and his life in the Weyr, and Farimell just didn't care enough to deal with all of it. Ushered quickly into lessons, where smaller groups and less people meant less having to talk, the youth slowly came out of his shell. Or as much as he could, given he didn't attempt to become the life of the class or anything in that vein.

It wasn't too long before Farimell was introduced to, or rather found himself in the sudden company of, a young man named Samorakel. Unsure of just why the gitar-player seemed to enjoy being around him, the pair became a duo commonly seen about the Hall. They seldom were apart, and over the Turns something akin to a friendship developed. Farimell never quite went out of his way to tell Samorakel whether or not his presence meant anything, and the older teen was taken off to High Reaches to stand for Impression. When the man didn't return, having been claimed by a dragon, Farimell wondered if what he felt was actually loneliness. Having never expereinced it before, or at least not to a level he could understand, the younger teen kept in touch as much as he cared to do.

It was shortly after that he found himself called away on Search, offered a chance to stand and Impress to a clutch at Western. With the promise to return to the Hall should he not find his lifemate, and with the threat of Thread looming, Farimell went. Something inside of him made him feel like being a rider could be worthwhile, and so he sent a note to his childhood friend to come and watch. At the very least it would allow for a temporary reunion, and at most perhaps a ride back to the Hall.

His first time on the sands ended up also being his last, as the teen Impressed near the end of the clutch. With most all eggs hatched and the Sands emptying, Farimell was finally able to relax in the crowd. He'd been silent the entire time, an opposite of most of the other candidates on the sands, and while he wondered if not talking would hamper his chances, he was proven wrong.

I heard you. A soft voice poured into his ears, and it was as though Farimell could taste and hear and see colors all together, all for the first time. I can hear you, Farimellmine, even when you dn't speak. The voice grew stronger, closer, and when Farimell dared to look down he was met with the rainbow eyes of a tiny brown dragonet, one who still held shell about his body. Can you hear me? Will you talk to your Teth?

And Ferimall decided he would talk to Teth, and let Teth in return talk for him. The pair made an exceptional match from the moment they bonded on the sands, with the little brown giving the newly minted F'ell something to devote his passions to, and the little brown becoming a voice for his rider. F'ell's extreme motivation for his interests served to further his bond with Teth and their advancement together, while Teth's lack of shyness in communicating prevented any misunderstandings within their weyrling group. They thrived on the lessons, though the brown did cause some strife with his excessive affections at time. Still, they learned and learned well, preparing themselves physically and mentally for the threat of Thread that they would fly.

Other: Is the child of V'mel (ShinosBee, with permission) and an (as of now) unnamed HR woman. Samorakel is allowed in history with permission by Prism Shine.

- F'ell does have a stutter, though it is more self-imposed than neurological. (I equate his type of stammer to a person who stammers/stutters when they talk too fast/are anxious about talking)

- F'ell has never (properly) met his father, but has often been told about him. His mother speaks fondly of V'mel (always and forever), and thus he harbors no grudge nor ill-feelings about him

DRAGON

Name: Teth
Age: 1

3572.07.18
Cituvath x Argoth
22 Eggs
0 gold / 2 bronze / 5 brown / 9 blues / 6 greens

- This clutch was open, and I asked Chaos for permission

Color: Brown
Size: 42'

Physical Description: An extremely large brown, Teth is probably a bit thicker than he should be and far less muscular than he needs to be. Long in length, but short and stocky in height, it would not be out of place to compared Teth to something like a tank - just solid. With a pale brown hide that resembles creamed klah, he has several darker brown spots about his body that resemble beautiful bracelets or cuffs.

Due to his length and girth, Teth is far more capable of endurance rather than speed. He is best at handling long flights, both in time or distance, and it has been noted that even after a long run he still has enough energy to continue on to more tasks. He is oddly dexterous for a dragon his size, though it can be attributed to his love of flying and chasing others that he's slowly learned how to handle twists and turns.

Personality: Teth loves you. Teth loves you a lot, and therefore you should probably kiss him. F'ell does it all the time (when prompted), so why not everyone else? He wants you to kiss him and he really wants to kiss you, so why not go for it! Super affectionate to the point of being smothering, the massive brown doesn't quite grasp the concept of personal space and that maybe, just maybe, you don't want to be as close to him as he is to you. Humans, herdbeasts, whers, dragons - everyone and everything deserves to be kissed and should kiss him back. Not being kissed or being treated in a negative way does cause Teth some distress, though he quickly rebounds and soon forgets whatever bothered him in the first place.

His unfortunate need for affection can often be taken to extremes, with Teth being overly clingy and emotionally needy. He can easily find relief among the more friendly dragons and riders of the Weyr, though his dependence on F'ell to fill the rest is very heavy. Thankfully he is easy to calm down when assured that someone is not going anywhere, or if he's distracted into a task, but from the time of birth until the end of his life Teth will need some constant form of emotional appreciation to ensure he understands he's a good boy.

When it comes to flights, Teth always gives it a go. He isn't interested in winning, he simply likes the chase and having the chance to fly. He will fly for gold or green, colors do not matter, and win or lose he always comes out of the "race" happy and contented.

There is, however, a small raincloud in the eternal sunshine and spotless sky that is Teth, and it is not pretty. While almost always chipper and upbeat, Teth does not like to be backed into a corner. He doesn't mind being pushed, as he can handle more than his fair share of things due to his size, but even gentleness has a limit. When pressed beyond what he can handle, beyond what he wants to handle, it's as though a switch goes off and Teth no longer thinks of happiness. A terrifying sight to behold, he is aggressive and violent towards whatever may have caused the issue, and has no hesitation in inflicting injury or harm on another if it means solving the problem. He would never attack a human, of course, but another dragon is not off limits.

- It should be noted that these outbursts are extremely rare, and as of yet (in current RP canon) Teth has not experienced such a thing and F'ell has not borne witness to it

Positive Trait List Eternal optimist, affectionate, friendly
Negative Trait List Clingy, overly talkative, faint beserker, dim

Why Me? For F'ell, Teth is everything he needs. Sometimes it's not a matter of a dragon finding what they want in a rider, but rather what they can give to the rider instead. Teth wants to be F'ell's voice, his way of expressing himself to others when words just don't want to come. While F'ell is silent and lets his actions speak, Teth is more than happy to broadcast it across Pern to let everyone know just what his rider is thinking or feeling.

And in the case of Teth? F'ell is everything he wants. There are no lies between dragon and rider, and F'ell is more than willing to provide the emotional comfort that the brown dragon craves on a constant basis. F'ell also acts as a temper against Teth's more exuberant moods, always there to remind the dragon to calm down or hold back, but never in a manner that would dampen the true heart of his lifemate.

Approved!

They'll fly in Bahrain's Wing!

One thing to note is he's more like 1.5. He'll be 2 this year whenever 07.18 rolls around. :3 Since we're in 3574.

One other minor note -- it's fine to put them in that clutch -- but it isn't actually up to players or even the folks whose clutch it happens to be. Because clutches are first come, first serve, based on character approval -- folks need to run their desired clutch through me via PM, currently, as slots might unknowingly already be taken.

I am making a thread for folks to post so I can add in bulk but that's not quite open. Just a friendly reminder! gaia_star
