Miscellaneous/electronic information- The CEPNR series of weapons are commonly used by Russia and various eastern European countries, as well as the middle east. The weapons utilize caseless ammunition, similar to that of the American LSAT program, and ranges from a 5.45mm Carbine, 7.62mm x 54mmR, 8.6mm x 70mm, 12.7mm x 109mm, and various grenades, the 43mm x 30mm, 43mm x 51mm, and the 30mm x 54mm.
Basic Information
GSh-12 5.45mm Revolver- The GSh-12 5.45mm revolver utilizes caseless armor piercing 5.45mm rounds, that are approximately 28mm long and 9.5 grams. The modernized gunpowder allows for a substantially shorter and more powerful cartridges to fit in the revolver, which is substantially better at piercing armor than most cartridges. The round is a 3.63 gram cartridge that reaches 750 m/s from the revolver, producing approximately 1,020 joules worth of energy (with a maximum of 1,600 joules from a full sized rifle). Each cartridge is approximately 1.6 inches long, roughly equivalent in size and weight to the 5.7mm x 28mm. The revolver itself is approximately 2.5 pounds and has an 8 inch barrel; it is designed fundamentally different from most revolvers, with the cylinder loaded in the back, a guard for the hand to prevent the cylinder gas from escaping and burning the hand, and is spring powered, with the trigger simply releasing the spring to spin the magazine, which allows for the revolver to have a much lower trigger pull weight of 3.5 pounds, and hold between 10 and 12 rounds. The weapon has the cylinders replaced when reloading, instead of a magazine, which allows for speed reloads, but is more expensive than traditional magazines. The weapon is unusually powerful and reliable, easily piercing light armor at close ranges, well past level III-A armor. The weapon utilizes a heavy muzzlebreak to help reduce the recoil of the weapon, which is roughly on par with a .45 colt revolver without the muzzlebreak.
GM-94 D4- The GM-94 is a shotgun grenade launcher hybrid, firing 40mm x 30mm caseless grenades, designed for close-range room clearing, capable of firing a wide variety of specialty cartridges, from door-breaching rounds, to thermobaric cartridges, and shotgun rounds. Incredibly powerful for it's size, it can launch a standard 40mm grenade roughly the same distance and with roughly the same sized explosive as a standard 40mm grenade. Each round is approximately 130 grams, which is a fair bit lighter than a standard 185 gram cartridge, or 225 grams in the case. The weapon is designed specifically to be used with the thermobaric grenade, for closer quarters room clearing, where the thermobaric grenade excels, but can use a wide variety of specialty cartridges as well. The weapon is based on the GM-94, and is pump action to save on recoil and size, as well as allow for a variety of different types of ammunition. Each round is caseless, which makes them lightweight and they are roughly identical in size, to help with feeding in semiautomatic and pump action weapons. Smoke, flashbang High explosive, armor piercing, shotgun, thermobaric, flachette, incendiary, door-breaching, tear gas and a wide variety of other cartridge exists for the weapon, but it is largely relegated to shotgun, door-breaching, high explosive, high explosive armor piercing and thermobaric rounds. While useful in room clearing due to it's door-breaching capabilities, thermobaric grenade and flashbangs, it can also be used in the light anti-vehicle role, penetrating through 2 inches of RHA steel armor with the standard 40mm grenade, making it a very effective multiple use weapon.
Ak-108 - A-17M Abakan II- The weapon is based on the Ak-108 with a long stroke gas piston with a counter balancing weight designed to mitigate the recoil of the weapon, however it is chambered in the caseless 7.62mm x 54mmR round. The muzzle break and recoil reduction system, as well as the recoil reducing mechanism in the stock, the hydraulic recoil buffer, helps to reduce the recoil even further when the stock is extended. The weapon comes standard with a 16.5 inch barrel, but can also use a 20 inch and 23.5 inch barrel as well. This comes down to a 30-33, 33.5-36.5, and 38-41 inch overall length for the weapon, with a 760, 820, and 850 m/s velocity for each barrel. The weapon is substantially lighter and has less recoil than a weapon typical for it's size, both due to the caseless rounds and recoil reducing mechanism, as well as other weight saving techniques. Due to the shorter barrel the weapon does not always have the same range as the standard 7.62mm x 54mmR, but is much longer than the 7.62mm x 39mm and it's high power blurs the line between assault rifle and battle rifle. The official designation of the firearm is the Ak-17 Abakan, but typically is refereed to as the Ak-108 caseless.
Pecheng LMG - RP-15- The weapon is based on the PKM pecheng machine gun with a long stroke gas piston, chambered in the caseless 7.62mm x 54mmR round. The muzzle break, dual-spring recoil buffer and recoil reducing mechanism in the stock, the hydraulic recoil buffer, helps to reduce the recoil even further when the stock is extended. The weapon jams approximately once every 6,000 rounds and has a specialized fluted barrel, heat sink and cooling mechanism which helps to reduce the heat build up, and the weapon is belt fed, which increases it's rate of fire substantially over most magazine fed weapons. The weapon can realistically fire 100-120 rounds per minute before overheating, compared to about 40-60 with the Ak-108.
The F5- The F5 is a shotgun grenade luncher hybrid, similar to the GM-94, only it is semiautomatic or pump-action and capable of firing 40mm x 30mm caseless grenades, designed for close-range room clearing, or higher pressure 40mm x 46mm rounds. Capable of firing a wide variety of specialty cartridges, from door-breaching rounds, to thermobaric cartridges, and shotgun rounds, it also can fire these rounds at substantially higher velocities, although with a large increase in recoil as a result. Incredibly powerful for it's size, it can launch a standard 40mm grenade roughly the same distance and with roughly the same sized explosive as a standard 40mm grenade, or 2.5 times the range with the higher pressure rounds; this gives the weapon an effective range of 150 meters and a maximum range of 400 meters with the standard rounds or, 400 meters and roughly 1000 meters with the high pressure rounds. Each round is approximately 130 grams, which is a fair bit lighter than a standard 185 gram cartridge, or 225 grams in the case. The weapon, given it's intent with use for higher pressure rounds, is much heavier, to help absorb the recoil, being 11.4 pounds, and utilizes a recoil reducing system as well as a muzzle break. The weapon utilizes a high-to-low pressure system to reduce the recoil substantially, but given the relative power of the round is tough to avoid. The standard 40mm grenade has a velocity of 75 m/s, and this round has a velocity of 180 m/s.
Dragnuv SVU KSV-16 Marksmen Rifle- The weapon is based on the bullpup Dragnuv SVU, only it is chambered in the .338 Lapua caseless cartridge. The round typically achieves a velocity of 940 m/s from a 27.5 inch barrel, and the weapon has an overall length of 41 inches and a weight of 13.2 pounds, roughly on par with a Peching machine gun, albeit it much less without the ammunition. This makes it viable to be used in the squad role, but is often replaced with a marksmen variant of the Ak-108, which is much lighter. The rifle fires a 16.2 gram cartridge at velocities of 940 m/s, and is semiautomatic, having a 10, 20, or 25 round magazine. The weapon is unusually powerful, with nearly 7,100 joules, twice as much as a standard 7.62mm x 54mmR, and has roughly the same range as the .50 cal in the anti-personnel role, although a much shorter range in the anti-material role. The weapon also functions in part as an anti-material rifle, as it can penetrate level III body armor out to 1100 yards, and penetrates common urban barriers, such as car doors or brick walls, with relative ease. Due to it's lighter weight and easier time in use in the infantry squad, it is widely used as a marksmen weapon, both to increase the range and power of the average infantry squad. Most marksmen are highly trained to take advantage of the incredible range of the weapon, but nonetheless practical range are around 1300 meters for most marksmen in combat conditions, instead of the 1800 effective range when used in the sniper role.
.50 Caliber KSV-13 Sniper Rifle- The weapon forgoes the traditional bullpup lay-out and goes with a recoil reducing version, using a hybrid bullpup type weapon, similar to the M1941 Johnson machine gun or M60 machine gun. This helps to reduce the recoil of the weapon substantially by causing the piston and bolt to go all the way to the back of the stock, like in an AR-15, which reduces the recoil substantially and makes the action slower and more smooth, thus making it easier to handle. By spreading the recoil out over time, the weapon reduces the felt recoil at any given point in time, making folllow up shots quick, and allowing the weight to be reduced partially. It is similar in length to the M60 receiver, however due to the much longer barrel is substantially longer and heavier. The stock has 2 inches of adjustability, but typically this is not used. The weapon is approximately 49 inches long and 26 pounds, roughly on par with the M240 machine gun, and has a 29.5 inch long barrel, achieving 940 m/s with an accurized 12.7mm x 109mm caseless round. The weapon is large and heavy, and used a 10 round magazine, making it impractical in the infantry role, but it is commonly used by snipers and in a more limited role by certain special forces units.
.50 Caliber KP-17 Machine Gun- The weapon, while mostly too heavy to be used by most infantry squads, is substantially lighter than normal, being roughly half the weight of most .50 caliber machine guns, with ammunition that's half the weight as well. The weapon utilizes a reciprocating barrel, hydraulic recoil buffer, dual recoil spring buffer and an oversized muzzle break to help reduce the recoil, and is similar to the XM312 in construction. Utilizing caseless rounds with a little under half the weight of a standard .50 caliber machine gun, the same technology which has miniaturized the other weapons, from the recoil reduction to the caseless rounds, the weapon is just barely light weight enough to be carried in a standard infantry squad, although this is typically avoided. In comparison, a 4 man team can now carry the gun, defensive weapons (typically the Ak-108 ), and approximately 1,000 to 1,300 rounds, at 125 pounds per soldier, in comparison to only 500 rounds for a standard .50 caliber machine gun team. The weapon is also highly accurized, using similar sniper ammunition as the .50 caliber sniper rifle (although not being match grade), and shares in the role as a long range sniper rifle, allowing it to fullfill a variety of different purposes and save on ammunition. The tripod is also roughly half the weight of a standard tripod (20 pounds compared to 40 pounds), which reduces the overall carry weight of the weapon by nearly 70 pounds. The weapon comes with an optional folding stock, that lacks a hydraulic recoil buffer in it as is normal for most firearms.
30mm AG-20 Automatic Grenade launcher- The weapon is almost entirely AGS-30, with the only exceptio nbeing that it fires slightly lighter, caseless 30mm grenades. This allows more ammunition to be carried per squad, although it is still somewhat limited given the high weight of each round, at roughly .6 pounds. The AGS-30 provides better mobility, longer range and better accuracy during firing in comparison to it's previous design. Significantly lighter than its previous version but far more advanced and powerful, the AGS-30 weighs 30 kg loaded (66 pounds) meaning it can be carried by one person, and weights 16.2 KG, or 35 pounds unloaded. Using a specially designed GPD-30 grenade, recently put into serial production, the AGS-30 can engage targets at 2100m, due to it's relatively high velocity in comparison to most grenades, and it's recoil reducing design which allows the energy to diffuse first, like the swedish 40mm grenade. Recoil is also lessened with a much smoother grenade ejection mechanism. An adjustable SAG-30 tripod mount (GRAU index 6P17) is also included, which increases the weight somewhat. Nonetheless it is easy to carry and very powerful, used heavily by special forces teams.
