Cor Caroli could have gone without powering up today, but it was becoming That Thing He Did when he felt too fidgety or unsettled. He was a good mixture of both today, so he decided to patrol. He was kind of hoping he wouldn't find anyone from Order today; in fact, if he found a Chaos signature, that'd serve two purposes. Three, really- he could clobber, be clobbered, or get a good talking to. All of those things would blow off a sufficient amount of steam. However, lo and behold, there was a teeny little Order signature in the distance, near a park. Maybe near the trees? As much as Cor wanted to ignore it, he felt it would be irresponsible to do so. So, he headed off in the direction of the signature, wondering what poor sap he'd find this time.

Nix was still getting his legs, so to speak, with being a senshi, so spent a lot of time each day rather literally just running around. It was terribly exciting, and he hadn't had too many bad encounters yet. At least, not since getting powers. Before that, well...best to not dwell on that. He decided today to practice...jumping. He was rather unquestionably frog boy here, so figured that made sense. Those feet were pretty unmistakable. Maybe he could figure out how to stick on stuff like a treefrog? It wasn't actually intentional, but he did kind of stick. His sash thing got snagged in a particularly large branch of a tree he'd jumped into, and was flailing to get that off when he sensed...something? He thought it was an order signature, but honestly, he didn't have much experience, so paused and waited, to see what came up. Granted, if anyone looked up, it was hard to miss his almost shiny white self.

Huh. There was a senshi hanging in a tree over there... "What?" The reaction slipped out of Cor Caroli totally by accident. He was speechless for a moment. This was quite an interesting senshi trick. Once he found his words, he found himself laughing (again, by accident). "Oh man, what happened to you? Did a Nega hang you up there after he was done with you, or what?" He began to size up the tree and the area where Nix was snagged. "Hang on a second, I'll try and get you free." And so, one senshi stuck in a tree became two once Cor jumped up into the branches.

Nix blushed some when the guy on the ground blurted "what?" as he looked up. The dangling senshi waved somewhat awkwardly and smiled. He was very glad this wasn't someone actually dangerous to him. "Well, you see," Nix started to answer, waving a hand lightly, "I was practing, uh..." he trailed off then when the other senshi declared he was going to get him free. His mouth hung open slightly, a little startled by it, so he didn't declare he could get himself free before, well... Now there were two of them. He couldn't help but let out a mirthful little laugh. "Well, that makes me feel better!" he said, and swayed some to try to end up a bit closer before sticking out a green-gloved hand. "I'm Nix! Hang out here much?" He was pretty sure he could dislodge himself alright (he'd done it at least twice already, in similar situations), but since they were already both dangling, why not say hi first?

Cor Caroli didn't even realize he was snagged until he felt his sash tug on him. "Oh crap." Soon he was hanging and flailing and being just as awkward as the guy he tried to release. "Welp. Uh, so... hi." When Nix extended a hand to him, he tried to reach forward to return the handshake. "Nice to meet you. I'm Cor Caroli." He couldn't help but chuckle at the hanging out quip. "Well, I hang out here sometimes, but not always this literally." He glanced at the branch he was dangling from. That thing had to be crazy sturdy to support his weight (not that that was a big deal; he'd tried to take better care of himself these days). "So, uh... got any ideas? I'm pretty sure that if you take your pants off to get off the tree, your transformation will drop, so let's try to avoid that."

"Nice view, though," Nix replied cheerily. "Lots of...leaves and stuff." He nodded, and looked critically at Cor, rubbing his chin. "Well, if you hadn't come up, I was gonna start swinging until I broke something in the tree or popped off..." He reached back, and flailed his hand around a bit. "Something will give sooner or later!" He paused, looked back. "Or I guess I could try to climb back up. I mean, I've only been stuck in a tree a couple times. I was sort of trying to jump up here, ya see. If I can jump like a super sayan, I might as well be accurate about it, right?" He rocked and very tenuously got a grip on some tree above him. "Still needs work." This whole situation was actually really funny to Nix, but he didn't wanna upset this new senshi--he thought this one was older than all the others he'd met. An actual grown-up! Couldn't make a bad impression right now...Not that starting off stuck in a tree was a good impression, but he was certain laughing at having a tree buddy would be a worse one.

"Huh." Cor Caroli nodded and smiled awkwardly. Even with the grumpy phase he was in, he couldn't ignore the comedy of the situation. Two senshi, sitting in a tree... nah. "Jumping practice, huh? I remember when I used to do that. Though, I think buildings are easier to practice on than trees. Less pointy parts, in most cases." That really was a long time ago. He almost couldn't believe he was that hedonistic college kid at one point anymore. So much had happened in the span of a few years. "The swinging thing isn't a bad idea. Let's try gathering some momentum? Maybe we can fling ourselves off. Or... do you have any offensive attacks? You could break yourself free." That solution sounded simple, but a newer senshi might not have thought to use their power.

"Oh, magic?" Nix asked. "Hadn't thought to try! Guess I could, but...I dunno that it'll help here much." He looked around for a moment, considering, then twisted to properly face Cor Caroli. He grinned and said, "Watch this!" before opening his mouth and...shooting a long slightly ethereal tongue out. Well, it actually appeared directly in front of his mouth, but it sure looked like he went "mlem!" and a tongue shot out from that angle. The tongue went forward, hit a branch above Cor with a BAP, and then it went taut as the tongue strained against the branch, until it broke off with a crack, and sailed back at Nix...who actually managed to grab the stick before the tongue disappeared. "Yeah! Woo~! Though, uh...I guess that didn't actually help much, did it? Heh..." He rocked in place, considering his options. Yeah, definitely just wiggle free, it'll totally work. "Oh well, frog tongue's still cool~ Now to do it the hard way!" The rocking grew more deliberate...

Cor's jaw might have dropped when Nix made a magic tongue appear. He had to hold back the bad jokes for this, seriously. Well, it slipped out anyway, oops. "Whoa, got a girlfriend? Or a boyfriend? Heh, sorry, never mind. Aaaanyway, you were supposed to fire the tongue at the branch you were stuck on, not just any branch." He chuckled to himself a bit as he tried the rocking thing too. "All right, let's build that momentum, and hope we don't crash into each other on the way down. That'd hurt." Cor Caroli didn't know physics that well, but he figured that maybe tucking in his arms would help? So he did that, and tried to make himself swing.

"No, I don't have one," Nix replied, apparently not getting the tongue implications, as he frowned quizzically. "What's that got to..." he trailed off, and shook his head. "Whatever! I don't think my tongue is strong enough to break this branch, and this lets me..." he paused his statement to rock forward, and wedge the branch in a split out further from him. It slipped, but it let him pull himself at a better angle to swing. "Do other stuff!" He grinned triumphantly, and did that a few more times, before actually getting lose from what snagged him! He let out a triumphant whoop, which quickly turned into an, "Ohcra--" as he nearly toppled down below, but snagged a still-attached branch in his hand this time, losing his branch assistant in the process. With a big sigh of relief, he said, "There! That wasn't so bad! Your turn!" then gave Cor a thumbs up.

"Don't worry about it," Cor said, waving dismissively. The subsequent detachment fiddling the frog boy did was pretty clever, all things considered. "Hey, not bad," Cor called down. "Now try hitting the ground!" He still had to free himself, though, and he reached up to try and unstick his sash from where it was caught. Apparently that was all he really needed to do, and he got sent tumbling, hitting a few branches on the way down with ungainly noises till he managed to stabilize himself on a thicker branch. "Ugh, talk about falling from the ugly tree and hitting every branch on the way down. Well, I guess the ground is our next step?"

"Oh no!" Nix gasped as Cor started to tumble down. He was a bit too far away to do anything, although he did try doing another frog tongue grab. Missed, though. Not that it would work, no way would it hold a senshi's weight. He winced with each bounce in sympathy, although held on for the moment. "Yeah," he agreed. "Time to go down! This part's easy, if you aim right!" He hesitated a moment longer, looking down, then sprang into action, hopping off one branch to land on another below, then again, at level with Cor. "Glad I don't have a huge ribbon like another Senshi I met," he said with a laugh. "This would be even harder!" He continued his way down, only missing branches, well, about half the time, but managed to not shout his surprise each time, and didn't get stuck or face-smacked again!

As fresh and new as this senshi seemed, he had a decent grasp on his coordination now that he was unstuck, which stirred a small joy in Cor Caroli's heart. Not exactly hope, but something like it. "Oh yeah? Do you know who that senshi was?" Partly so he could laugh at the poor soul when he saw him, partly out of a passing interest. Who got saddled with such a huge ribbon? Heck, after some folks Cor had seen, he was thanking goodness that he had pants. (Shorts seemed to be fairly common among guy senshi, especially ones who were just starting out.) "All right, you're doing good!" Cor called down, then sucked in a breath as he prepared for some platforming. Thankfully, these branches were still quite sturdy, so he was able to follow Nix down in something resembling a decent sync.

It was only a hop or two more before they were on the ground, and Nix hopped (the height of a normal human) up and down a few times and said, "Yeah! We did it!" He considered a moment and said, "It was...Minchir, he has, uh...daylight powers? Yeah, that's it." He nodded, as if confirming to himself that he was right. Nix hadn't seen too many senshis just yet, all he really knew is that his senshi outfit was a bit different from the others he'd seen. The idea was there--but nobody else had quite the...close-fitting getup that he had. He stood triumphantly, fists on his hips and froggy feet slightly apart. "No tree will stand in my way for long!" Goofy, sure, but he was entertained...and this was definitely a senshi who was not disillusioned with the world.

"Whoa, hey, rein in the jump a little, or you'll be back in the tree," Cor said on his way down. Maybe he hadn't been paying attention, but he was pretty sure the senshi jumping could be turned off, sort of. Then again, it probably required more concentration than a total rookie could muster. "Daylight powers? I bet he sets a lot of vampires on fire." Not exactly an Order thing to do, but it was fun in theory. Once he made it to the ground, he couldn't help but smile a little at the froggy enthusiasm. He was trying way too hard to be cranky in the face of freshness. "The trees are a good start, but what about youma? And Negaverse agents? You're going to have to get good at evading those." Tolin Kalin WHOOPS sorry botched the quote
