Deme had been working so much on running track lately. That he couldn't remember that last time, that he took some time to explore the outdoors. Which was actually a big shame, since their nothing like the air you got when you exploring or seeing new land. It was amazing and it was like life stopped for a minute as you looked at beauty around you. While he loved running and doing tons of exercising. Doing track and baseball just didn't compare to actually being outdoors. Where everything was different from the building he went to class in and even the campus where he took part in the sports teams. Something needed to change so he could see that outdoors again.
Well today he was going to change that, being a Saturday and all. It meant he could take a break from all his school activities. Since after all he had heard of this beautiful mountain to climb. It was a few miles away from where he was, and they said the climb was to die for. Now since it was word of mouth there was no telling who would be there, but he wanted to be one of them.
It would be a first in a long time, but it didn't take long to pack his bag. He had a green mountain climbing pack next to his bag and he quickly threw all his gear in. Since he needed to be prepared, some snacks, water, and equipment. He tossed the pack on his back and walked towards the door. He slipped on his shoes and opened the door. Heading down the steps to the adventure ahead.

Normally this time of year was spent in doors, where it was warm, while still managing to participate in various activities and sports. That was normally how the fall, especially later on in the fall, and winter went for her. Today was different however - very different.
One of her friends, who she went rock climbing with often, had asked her to come outdoors for some rock climbing, despite the cold, and she had dumbly agreed. It was rock climbing - it was always fun! Except for when you were freezing and your friend calls you, once you've already arrived, telling you they can't make it because their daughter is sick.
She was left alone, there were other people there but she knew none of them, while she set up her gear and got herself ready. She might be alone but she was here and there was something to climb - she would climb. Despite the cold, and god was it cold, she was going to enjoy herself...even though her cheeks and hr nose felt a bit numb. [/size

Deme had arrived just in time. As he pushed his way through the last branch before he saw it. The other people had beaten him here. Not many but just enough to make him think maybe he should have left a little earlier. Now looking around he didn't know of them, but the one thing he did know is it was cold.
His long sleeves with the light outdoor jacket, might not have been the best material to wear. Since his body was a bit chilled to the bone. Though now that he was here, he had to climb it. Since he had never not climbed something he had set out to climb. To quit before he began was just not in his blood.
So he headed into the area, and while he was looking for just one spot where there weren't to many people. So he could get his gear out and ready. he noticed one person who was a bit away from the others. Probably was going at it alone like him. He took a chance and walked over to them, well them being a female. Which sadly nowadays he didn't have many interactions with unless they were his best friends sisters. So he took a deep breath and headed over.
"Hi there, I'm Deme. Mind if I get my gear together over here? Seems like they all came in a pack over there," he said with a kind smile and slight laugh. It was by far the worst intro he had ever given. Man he thought he definitely needed to work on his people skills, and not just his baseball swings.

"They did, I arrived just after they did." And they'd all been friends. Whether they'd come together as a planned way to spend the day or it had just happened she didn't know, it didn't matter really. Glancing over to the male, finally, she had finished checking out her knots, Keely took a few moments to glance the other over. "Keely, Key for short." As if her name could really get any shorter than it already was, she really wondered about those who needed or wanted to shorten her already short name. it wasn't that she minded though, she rather liked the shortened name people gave her, she just had to wonder about it.
"You came alone as well it seems." Not that she had planned to, it just had happened.
"You've climbed this before?" She questioned the other, honestly wondering. Her pale blue eyes glancing back to the mountain, a smile in place and a thrill in her blood. She couldn't wait to get to climbing, she had a thing for adrenaline rushes and would never turn down the idea of experiencing a rush of adrenaline - it was addicting really.

"Oh okay, well glad to see I wasn't wrong," he said kindly as he took his bag off his back and began unpacking his gear. He had climbed tons of times before, so his gear was all organized so he could take it out in a moments time. As soon as he had it out he began checking his gear. Every knot and making sure it was ready to go. Since he knew well enough you could never be to safe in this game.
He listened as she told him his name, it was nice and definitely short like his nickname. "Nice to meet you Key, mine's actually short too. For Demetrius, no one ever makes to say that mouthful." he said with an attempt to be funny as he checked the last of his knots before beginning to put his gear on.
He quickly put on his harness by slipping his leg loops through to his thighs and over his clothes. He then pulled it securely on to him.
"I did, I got really excited about climbing and just rushed here. Forgetting to really see if anyone was able to come with," he spoke which was different since this was actually a first for him. he normally had someone with him. Though he couldn't wait the thought of climbing this made him so excited and pumped.
He looked at her and watched as she looked at the mountain before answering. It looked like he wasn't the only one excited about scaling that rock. Which was nice to see, since he didn't see to many others excited to climb in the cold morning like him.
Before he spoke, he made sure he was tied in tight. He responded, "Not yet, but I plan to conquer it today. How about you? Ever climbed it before?"Sleet Tempest Snape the long awaited tag, sorry i just can't keep sickness away it seems. or its the snow. xD

Laughing she nodded her head. "At least your warrants being shortened. Mine is already short." So for people to shorten was just...ridiculous but she wasn't going to complain, she did rather like it. "It's not a bad name though - yours I mean." She added after a moment. His full name wasn't bad but she certainly liked the shortened down version, it was easier to say and it sounded nicer really.
"Well, it's good than that there are other alone people here, though honestly I was supposed to meet a friend." Finishing setting herself to start climbing she turned a bright smile onto the male. "My friend backed out at the last minuet, personal reasons. I was already here so decided to just stay - why turn down climbing, especially once I'm here." Though with how chilly it was, and the potential for it to get colder, she wouldn't have minded indoor climbing more...just for the sake of warmth. She knew she'd build up heat while climbing but she would still be cold...and being sweaty and exposed to the cold, after the climb, was not always so good either.
With herself secured in her own harness she went to start on her own climb, finding a place to place her hands and one foot to push herself up. Gloved hands moving to seek new holds as her other foot came up and she was pushing up again.
"This one? Yeah, a few times. I normally don't climb outside once it's cold - I stick to indoors but my friend invited me." And then bailed...and she wasn't about to turn and go home.
