Uvarovite was rather impressed with himself that he had managed not to laugh at Nitratine when the young man had gotten tackled by one of the mostly feral youma he'd been playing with. The lieutenant had made a wonderful squeaking noise when they'd gone down and Uvarovite had used all his willpower to not laugh. Thankfully for Nitratine no one else had been around but the young man had stormed off rather quickly to find one of the portals back to town. Uvarovite on the other hand still had a few things to do around the lab, not including catching the offending youma. He assumed Tourmaline would be by at some point if only because he hadn't seen her in a few days. She had started checking in on him if she didn't see him at home for a long enough time.

General Tourmaline was used to going days without seeing many of her companions-- often longer, for some of them. As a 'stray cat' of sorts herself she did not let that worry her often. Checking in from time to time was an acceptable way of keeping tabs on one another, but things with Uvarovite were different. When Uvarovite disappeared he did so to the Rift. Tourmaline thought that things might have been different after Halloween; that once the holidays wove their way closer and Destiny City took a turn for the cold they'd get a chance to spend more time in. It had meant that, in a sense. She'd spent more time inside between training sessions with her brood and Wolfeite's and Uvarovite had spent more time in the Underworld of the Negaverse. It was there that she found him that evening, buried in his work again. Even with the nightmares howling not far from where he'd set up shop she could still follow the feel of the aura that was unmistakably him down to his lab. She rapped lightly on the door frame with metal clad knuckles. "I hope I'm not interrupting." She didn't care if she was.

He looked up from where he'd been feeding one of the youma he had caged up in his lap, smiling slightly when he saw Tourmaline. "Nothing vitally important. The youma can survive without food but they're so much nicer when they're well fed." Uvarovite dusted his hands off on his pants before checking the locks on the cages. With the youma secure he walked over to make a note on one of his calendars of when the youma had been fed last. "Do you have plans this evening darling?" He looked back over to her with a raised brow. She usually came down in the early when she appeared so he assumed that was what time it was up n the city. It could be evening already if she'd been out patrolling but he was ignoring that possibility.

"Are you sure you've got time for me, Captain? You seem to be fairly occupied with your pet projects." She made a vague gesture to the lesser youma he'd been investigating and experimenting with. Some of the small ones almost bordered on cute, depending on the creature they favored. "My plans for this evening involved finding you... So here I am. Dinner hasn't been worked into them yet, though, so if you're offering." He usually did, and he seemed to enjoy picking up the tab. He'd grow weary of it eventually, she was almost certain. It seemed as though they all did... "It was after six when I left my bike at your place and headed for the park." She'd only ever arrived at his home powered the once, and even then it had only been due to the circumstances surrounding her injuries from the fight with the Senshi of Lanterns. "I thought I might find you at home, but then I thought better and wandered down here."

"Good, I was hoping you'd join me for dinner." Once his notes were done he walked past his computer, shutting it down along the way, and paused a bit in front of her. "I should be able to get us a table, do you need to get changed or are you dressed for a nicer dinner?" Uvarovite was, mostly, ignoring the first comment. He had been spending more time down in his lab working but he hadn't vanished entirely and it wasn't as if Tourmaline didn't know how and where to find him. She had seemed to prefer he kept out of her life to an extent so he did. The younger woman wasn't one who liked someone else heaving control over her in that way. "I would have been home soon enough anyway. Everything I am working on currently will take some time to show results and my own bed is far more comfortable than anything down here."

"I hadn't dressed for dinner out, but I've a few things at your place I could change into easily enough." She'd started to leave things in each of the places she stayed at long enough to consider them residences; a handful of things were still left in her own apartment, but the rest had been split along the way between the warehouse owned by Lauri and Kian's home. Considering how many things he had purchased for her, or given her the means to purchase so she would have them for his viewing pleasure, it was only right that she'd left some of them there. "You know you just have to ask if you'd like a guest for dinner. I wouldn't mind the chance to make plans instead of wondering what you're doing down here..." Wondering if you're going to come back up for air. "Are you suggesting I simply wait for you next time as opposed to seeking you out, Uvarovite?"

"I would rather you didn't darling," He reached out to run his fingers lightly along her jaw. "I would hate to get lost in my own head entirely. Someone has to make sure that doesn't happen and you know Nitratine isn't that overly concerned with my well being." He knew he had been spending more time down in the Rift and with the way the Rift's time could flow different it was easy to spend more time down there than he'd intended. With so few people to help with his work as well it became harder and harder to care about things elsewhere. "Shall we go then? We both can get changed and I will make arrangements for us to have a table. Any preferences?"

"Lieutenant Nitratine isn't exactly concerned with anyone's well being but his own... Save for maybe Lieutenant Cornetite." She snorted softly as she drew her hand up to take hold of his, banishing her weapon so that when their fingers touched it was skin to skin. The Negaverse was important. His research was important, clearly. Other things were important too, however-- nourishment and fresh air only some of them. Tourmaline wanted him to have that human touch as well, a reminder that there were things beyond his creatures that required his attention. "Somewhere I can wear that little black dress you picked out for me? I finally found a pair of heels to go along with it." As she spoke she drew his hand away from her jaw, sliding it up so that she could rest her cheek against his palm to nuzzle lightly against his touch. He was important to her and she hoped that he knew that, unsure she could find the words to let him know that she wasn't willing to lose him to the Rift too.

She was right about Nitratine but the young man was ruthless and cunning so despite his self-centeredness he was useful. Having him work with Cornetite made both of them better as well so they had been good additions to their little 'gang'. "I do rather like that dress on you, fits just right." His free hand slid along her hip as he smirked, letting her nuzzle his other one. "Would you like to take us back darling?" It was always interesting to see the little ways she showed her feelings for him. Even more so given that she was far more likely to do that than to actually voice her feelings.

"You wouldn't have paid the price you did for it if it hadn't fit just right." A soft smirk touched her lips. She enjoyed the eye he had for things that suited her; the care he took in looking out for her. It was only fair that she return the favor in looking out for him, drawing him away from the things that might otherwise consume him. "To the park or to your home, Uv?" Her brow lofted as she looked up to him, the question lingering between them. She would leave the choice of whether or not to have a brief blip of power too close to home up to him this time.

"Home, we should be safe enough to do that." The feline he'd been able to 'borrow' had said they had yet to feel any power signatures near his home so while it wasn't recommended to teleport there doing so a time or two wouldn't hurt. It would be faster if they went to his home as well and he could call the restaurant he wanted to go to while he changed.

Tourmaline tilted her head up, brushing a light kiss to the Captain's jaw before teleporting the two of them back to his home. Once in the foyer she powered down, dropping her energy level from the range of detection. She'd dressed for the motorcycle ride across town to his house, clad simply in a pair of leather leggings, her favorite boots and a loose fitting shirt. She'd left her coat hanging in the hall closet, her bag sitting on the hall table. "I'll meet you back downstairs once you've had a chance to clean up and we've both changed." She brushed her fingers against his wrist before taking to the stairs so she could slip into something more suitable for dinner.

He powered down once they were back and when Katrina headed upstairs watched her as she moved. She did always look nice in whatever he had on and he did like getting to appreciate how good she looked in leggings. "Don't take too long darling. Pulling out his phone he called one of the french restaurants in town that he liked to reserve a table for the two of them that evening. He hadn't taken Katrina there before and he always enjoyed taking her new places. Getting to spoil her a bit was fun and she hadn't yet tried to take advantage of any of it. She appreciated what he did for her rather than expecting it. While he made the call he headed up to his room to change into something they could go out in. A nice pair of slacks and a button-down with one of his favorite vests.

It didn't take her long to strip out of her riding gear and slip into the dress. Whatever additional time she took was spent in heating the flat iron she kept in the bathroom attached to 'her' room so she could fix her hair touch up her cosmetics. Katrina had toned down some of her usual bright, neon colors, finding a few neutral palates to go along with fancy evenings out. Tonight she went for a smokey eye, complimenting the class of the dress with a vibrantly red lipstick. Once she'd touched everything up she slid into her heels, checking herself in the mirror before heading back downstairs to join Kian.

Kian had beaten her downstairs and looked up when he heard heals. A smirk returned to his lips as he took in the whole package. "My, my darling. Why are we leaving the house again?" Once she reached him he slid an arm around her waist and leaned down for a kiss. "You look stunning." Katrina had gotten better at paring outfits with her usual more outlandish style for when they went out somewhere fancy. There was still just enough bite to her look but she still managed to have just the right amount of class as well.
