User ImageZeerah stood in the hall, leaning against the wall and saying a casual 'hey' to everyone who walked past. This was the life; lazing around on the weekend, looking for the perfect sucker to prank. Of course Xero had chided him before he walked out the door, something along the lines of 'we're too old for this now'. Honestly, he loved his twin but he took himself way too seriously. You're only a kid once, after all, and Zeerah got away with just about everything because of it. Why waste your days sitting in your room reading? Reading about necromancy, nonetheless. Zeerah's face darkened for a moment as his thoughts dwelt on this. When Xero first picked up the interest, Zeerah thought little of it; zombies are cool, he could see the appeal. Lately, however, it was bothering him. Xero was always reading about necromancy, or writing about necromancy... or talking about necromancy. What was with it? It was starting to wig him out.

Zeerah was shaken from these thoughts as he saw a younger freshling walk past. He looked down at his feet nervously when Zeerah waved to him, indicating that he was the perfect target. Grinning to himself, Zeerah waited for a few moments before getting off the wall and shadowing his new prey. Freshlings were the easiest to prank, obviously. They were so oblivious and, well, fresh. Zeerah preferred to go after juniors - they proved way more challenging but hey, high risk meant high reward. He steered clear from all seniors, though; some pray was too big, even for him. Smiling to himself, he hid behind a water fountain as his target opened a door to a dorm. Score!

Zeerah waited for a few moments, ready to phase through the wall and scare the freshling. For the first time in his life, however, he hesitated. He couldn't say why, but something felt off. Why was he doing this, anyway? To scare some kid? Where was the fun in that? Zeerah was shocked at his own thoughts, as if they were betraying him. Deep down, though, he knew those thoughts were right. He was talented at illusion and phasing, all his teachers told him as much. So why was he using them for this? He pondered these thoughts for a few moments, before shrugging them off. Because it was fun, of course! With an evil grin, he phased his head through the wall.
"Boo!" The freshling shrieked in surprise, and Zeerah pulled away quickly, shaking with laughter. Maybe one day he'd figure out a better use for his talents, but for now he was happy with pranking.
