Atlas's amphitheater has two uses over the course of the school year. One, it serves as the location for the introduction of new students. They arrive at the amphitheater and General Ironwood gives a speech to the new students before dismissing them to the barracks before their initiation. The second use the amphitheater has is that it is where promotional videos and the like are held to convince students to enlist in Atlas's military. There are also guests that usually hold speeches in the building meant to convince the students to fight for the kingdom of Atlas once they graduate from the academy. So, it doubles a recruitment center for the students.

Atlas Academy's Team Naming Ceremony Commencement A Speech From Headmaster Ironwood & Vice Headmaster Schnee
"Students, we would like to offer you our sincerest congratulations for making it through our Initiation Process. We did not make it easy for you, and that was on purpose, but rest assured, we were watching you work every step of the way. Your skill, your tenacity, is what brought you here and it is what will keep you going for the years to come. But, you are not alone in that aspect. Everyone standing around you has that same strength, and that same tenacity. You are already well aware of your partner, but there are two others that will come to join you. If you want to make it through this Academy, it would do you well to get along with the rest of your team. Otherwise, you're likely to get left behind, in more aspect than one. Stay dedicated. Stay studious. And stay honest. We adopt a military lifestyle within these walls. With the rigidity comes a sense of self worth, value, and brotherhood. You're here for a reason. Don't let that reason get away from you."
Actions, Extras, Filler, Etc. During his speech, General Ironwood wore a bright and happy expression, while he mostly stood at attention with his hands folded behind his back. The Vice Principal of the Academy, Winter Schnee, was at Ironwood's side as he spoke, but she stayed silent, simply looking out over the crowd with an inquisitive expression. The stage they stood on was as starkly white as the rest of the room. The only splashes of color to speak of were the blue Atlas flags lining the walls. Soon, the Headmaster stepped aside and motioned for Ms. Schnee to walk up to the mic, to which she nodded and did so. During her speech, General Ironwood simply watched her and then readied the large, built-in wall monitor so the entire student body could see the teams as they were called out. The students' first initial would come onto the screen and then fade to show that student's face, alongside those of their teammates. Winter read these off in expert time and moved on to finally complete her portion of the speech. After it was done, the students were permitted to leave.
"Let's keep this short and sweet, shall we, everyone? Please listen closely for your names and those of your partners." "Jasper Aurum, Lukas Litr, Blitz Bordeaux, Niraya Frost. You will form Team JLBN, with Jasper Aurum as your leader." "NPC Name, Ariana Sterling, NPC Name, and Morgan Birch. You will form Team ----, with Not Sure Yet as your leader."
"Congratulations. Since every individual made it through the initiation and was able to find a partner, none of you will have to wait for your teammates. Thank you for arriving promptly, and please continue that promptness throughout your years here. Now, this procession is over, you may proceed to your bunks, to the dining hall, or anywhere else on campus until your curfew in one hour. Your room number and other important schedule details have been uploaded to your scrolls. Check them regularly. Schedules are subject to change and it is your responsibility to keep up. Welcome to Atlas."

spaceJasper walked beside Lukas as they approached the Amphitheater. She was walking with a fast pace, excited and eager for the ceremony, and thus she kept up with her taller teammate's normal pace. Her bow was secured firmly on her back, clipped into place at multiple joints, and her quiver was half full. She hoped to be able to collect more arrows, but she had plenty extra parts to make more. That was actually something she looked forward to. Weapon maintenance and tinkering was a pastime for the archer; but that wasn't important right now. Now, they were entering the tall, stark white building. It was full of sharp edges and tall pillars, Atlesian flags decorating the clean walls. She wasn't sure if Niraya and Blitz followed them to stand in the same space, but Jasper stuck close to Lukas. At least she knew the two of them would be teammates. His up close and personal fighting style greatly contrasted her keeping to the backlines style, but it was that difference that made them work well together. She could learn to deal with the silent bluntness so long as he could deal with her boisterous bluntness. As much as Jasper wanted to be her team's leader, she would find it unlikely for Lukas to not be chosen. He was the epitome of "leader."
spaceThey stopped near the back of the crowd. Jasper stood on the tips of her toes so she could see the stage, hand on Lukas' arm to keep balance. "This is so exciting! I didn't think I would ever be excited to be here," she spoke low enough that Lukas might have been able to hear her, but it was more a remark to herself than anything. General and Headmaster Ironwood spoke to the crowd, then conceded the microphone to Winter Schnee, the school's Vice Headmaster. She was more to-the-point than her higher, and she carried on rather swiftly with announcing the new teams. There was a large monitor behind Miss Schnee and General Ironwood; it displayed the names and symbols of the students that Winter called out, then transitioned simply to the first letter of that name, to be joined by three other names/letters. After that, the team names were announced, and the captains were confirmed. Jasper leaned up more when she saw a longbow and quiver flash to the screen, her name soon following it. Then, it was Lukas' name. A ball of excitement pitted in her stomach when she heard Blitz and Niraya's names being called out.
spaceThe archer was no longer engulfed in the ceremony since her name and team were announced. When Winter continued on to say Jasper was the team's captain, she fell flat to her feet and stopped leaning on Lukas. She stared up at the screen with a grin, fists balled up as she tried to contain her excitement. She reminded herself that this was Atlas and that she couldn't have so many outbursts here. Vacuo was much more lenient than this place. The blonde relaxed her fists and opened her hands in front of her, staring down at them, "I'm the captain?" came out as an excited whisper. She let her arms fall to her sides and she smiled up at Lukas, then over to Blitz and Niraya, giving them all a confident nod, "I won't steer you guys wrong." She clapped her hands together in front of her chest in a mock prayer and grinned widely, rubbing her hands together, still trying to contain her excitement.

Blitz would be following some distance behind Jasper and Lukas, lagging behind to stay with Niraya.Oddly he had removed his jacket and stored it off somewhere, showing just how far his scales went and showing off his families insignia on the back of the plain black shirt.By the time he arrived in the ampitheater Miss Schnee had already begun announcing teams,he would skirt around the edges of the gathering of students, looking for someone in specific but pausing when his team was announced, smirking and giving a short exhale from his nose when he put together the thought team Jellybean."Hm...me and Lukas end up on a team...this'll be fun"

Niraya was being a little slow. but blitz kept her company. she appreciated that She took her time as she was still a little bothered by the stuff her father said. it wasn't his right to tell them that. She would notices Blitz shirt but stayed silent about it.
they eventually make it into the amplitheater. she looked out of place. everyone was so eager but yet she looked like she was expecting to not be placed in a team. when her name was called that is when she perked up. she looked at the screens to see Jasper was the team leader. so she did manage to have jasper and Lucas as teammates. She looks over at Jasper who looked like she was doing to her best to contain her excitement.

space"Oh," Morgan moved into the bathroom to turn the shower off, then returned to the room with a sheepish smile. She'd assumed Ariana didn't get the chance to warm up enough. The marksman sat down beside the silver haired girl and listened to her speak, nursing her tea as they sat together. Morgan peeked over when Ariana produced her darkened scroll, setting it aside as she explained its modifications and particular uses. She hadn't even noticed an ear piece, either, but Morgan mused to herself that it was rather intriguing. Before, Morgan never had to think of blindness or anything of the sort, so she found herself wondering how she might cope without sight. Especially since she was a gun user; everything would be different. When Ariana mentioned her irregular sleep pattern and subsequently having someone follow her around, Morgan gave a thoughtful "Hm," taking a moment to gather her thoughts before speaking, "I'm more nocturnal anyway. I guess I should have mentioned earlier, I'm a snake faunus, so. Won't have to worry about waking me up," she gave a light chuckle, "and I won't follow you around either, not unless you ask me to, that is. I can tell you're capable enough." The pair continued to have light conversation as they finished their tea. After the appropriate time passed, they were off and heading towards the Amphitheater.
spaceMorgan wasn't completely sure what to expect of something like this. Atlas was rather pristine, so she assumed something like a team naming ceremony would be prestigious, but it was thankfully concise. Morgan and Ariana stood beside each other. They were near the back of the room, close to a set of doors. Morgan looked out among the crowd of students and wondered how Ariana saw all of this. Admittedly, Morgan had to get used to the idea of a blind person being able to see in some way, but she was willing to put the work in. They had a date, after all. The blonde pulled her bandanna further up her nose, pinching the fabric slightly between her fingers, a little anxious with such a large crowd. It seemed the entire school was here. Other year students, staff, alumni, and military officials. She crossed her arms and let out a small puff of air through her nose when her eyes landed on General Ironwood. He seemed warm and inviting, but all he was was a figurehead for recruiting aimless kids into his Military. She always preferred that the school elect a new Headmaster, or the Military elect a new General, but that would never happen.
spaceThe teams were announced after a short speech from Ironwood. He presented Miss Schnee and she called off the teams, announcing Morgan and Ariana's names after another student's. It seemed neither of them would be the team's leader, but that didn't matter much to Morgan. She wasn't the leader type. She didn't like to stick her neck out for others just because it was her "responsibility," it had to be her choice. Her eyes traveled down to Ariana, "Well, at least we'll have our own dorms now, right? No rinky-dink hole in the wall." Morgan crossed her arms over her chest and watched the stage as Winter continued announcing teams. There were some strong looking peers in the crowd, ones that Morgan wouldn't mind sparring against, but she wasn't sure who her teammates were. They would find each other eventually, she was sure, especially since the information would be forwarded to them all via their scrolls.

ooc: well, shouldn't be posting here long lmao. probably move them to the barracks after this again? to their actual room. idk what to do after this tbh
Ariana had finished her tea leisurely as the two of them conversed over the next forty-five minutes before they took off for the Ceremony. As Morgan led her into the amphitheater, her sensitive ears were assaulted by idle chatter from countless sources and she deliberately hung back, trying to not look too out of place, but, obviously feeling discomfort. She couldn't sense anyone nearby other than Moran but, they were outside her area of influence in that regard. Still, she could feel the overwhelming presence of so many. If she had something to focus on, this would be far more bearable, but, without it, large crowds were immensely uncomfortable to her more sensitive senses.
Not long after they arrived, Ironwood gave a brief greeting and an idea of what to expect, much as she'd heard before the few times her father had brought her along to meetings with Military personnel. Of course, those times had been very limited as most of his contracts were classified to various degrees and she was a citizen. Though, on some, they offered lenience with less sensitive ones as she was blind. After Ironwood concluded, a woman spoke. She couldn't tell by voice, though, she guessed it was the elder Schnee sister, based off her knowledge that Winter Schnee was his direct subordinate, his Head of Staff at the Academy, and his personal Shadow all in one. In a very strict and authoritative tone, she heard Winter list off a series of names and assign team names, being direct and curt about it, not wasting a second on unneeded syllables or words, speaking in a crisp and clear voice. Still, the drone of sounds, though they had quieted since the start of the announcements, rang in her ears, especially the amplified voices of the staff.
After a little while, she heard Morgan speak and cocked her head."Morgan? Do you know what my father looks like? Not sure how often you might have seen him in broadcasts. I know he was planning to be here today to announce some sort of system he was planning to incorporate into the school. Or something...He might not and just be here to discuss things with Ironwood, but, I think he wanted more to check on me. If you do...Do you see him anywhere?"Her father was an easily identifiable man. Military rigidness and a powerful but lean build with wide shoulders and a strong jawline. Jet Black hair that he always kept short and combed back with a neatly groomed mustache. He usually wore suits in hues of pale blues whenever he was shown in broadcasts.

spaceMorgan had to admit, she much preferred the presence of Ariana alone, rather than such a large crowd. She was glad they finished their initiation early and were able to spend time together, rather than being carted directly here. The blonde's gaze continued to scan the crowd. What was she searching for? Well, nothing, really. She was just silently willing this commencement to... commence... and end. After her own offhanded comment, Ariana asked something a bit more meaningful. "Hm? Ah. Yes, actually, I think I do." Her father always tuned in to see the other man speak, whether it was a simple interview or a formal address to the press; the man loved Atlesian tech and advancements. Morgan looked towards the stage, then, and regarded the small lineup of special guests standing behind General Ironwood and Miss Schnee. There were a few unfamiliar faces. She assumed they were important to someone somewhere. When her eyes finally fell on the Sterling patriarch, she was a little taken back to see that he was staring back. He was moreso looking towards Ariana, but she was sure he'd been watching them both. Eh, she couldn't blame him. Morgan wasn't the most well-to-do looking individual.
space"He's actually on the stage right now," she tore her gaze away and turned to face towards Ariana, "It doesn't look like he's going to be speaking, but you hit the nail on the head about checking up on you. He's staring right at you." With that, the blonde turned to look back at the dark featured man. He certainly had the prowess of a military man. Honestly, she wouldn't be shocked if she heard Sterling and Ironwood were related. As Morgan looked at the man again, he shifted his eyes ever so slightly to meet her own. The marksman gave him a subtle nod and a two-fingered salute/wave. She couldn't blame him for caring about his daughter, but if not to let her fight, why else would he so controversially train her? She was probably thinking too far into it. Her own father, even with him and Morgan fighting so heavily, would probably be acting the same way. They all just wanted good lives for their kids. Morgan sighed and stuffed her hands in her pockets, having thoroughly bummed herself out. She didn't like fighting with her father, but she also didn't like fighting for an institution built on corrupt ideals. It was a difficult situation.
space"Did you want to meet up with him after this, or get out of here?" Honestly, Morgan wasn't very sure how Ariana felt towards Jett Sterling. She seemed appreciative and happy to have been raised how he raised her, but there was still something Morgan couldn't pick up on. Perhaps it was just the doting and overly protective nature of others that left a bad taste in Ariana's mouth. She certainly seemed like a family girl and like nothing would jeopardize that. That was something Morgan would learn with time. They would have their chances to talk more in depth about their families and their morals and whatever else, really. One thing was for sure: she was already enjoying getting to know Ariana, and she was looking forward to expanding that knowledge.

Ariana focused more on Morgan as she spoke, saying she thought she saw him. It helped a bit, but when Morgan paused to reconfirm, the cacophony returned. At least it was now more clustered with claps and little bursts of celebratory grunts and cheers as people were teamed up with others they liked while Schnee read off name after name and announced teams and Team Leaders. She refocused again as Morgan confirmed he was on stage and looking at her, though, she said it didn't seem like he'd be speaking. She stepped a little closer with a sigh at that and stood beside Morgan.
"I'll have to speak with him. He's just worried I might...well..not make friends. To be honest, I'm not all that social, especially with upper society where he's spending most of his time. And I've never been away from home on my own before so...take into account that I'm fairly small and blind not to mention his youngest daughter and child, even if I'm a skilled fighter, any father would want to be sure I got here safely and want to make sure I'm alright.""Hey, are you deaf or something? They're making announcements right now, so shut your..."
The boy stopped as he looked at them and seemed to recognize Ariana, but, furthermore, that she had her white cane out. "Nope, sorry. Wrong disability. Though, as you so kindly pointed out, I am disabled. Blind. So, maybe do what I can't and look before you charge head first into a confrontation."The boy apologized in a subdued voice and turned around. Seemingly uncaring about his little outburst, she resumed. "But, yeah, he won't let me simply walk off, part of the whole caring parent deal. And he'd probably want to meet you."
While Ariana spoke, her father didn't acknowledge Morgan's nod and salute, but simply waited for the speech to end. Though, he pulled out his scroll and seemed to type something. Ariana brushed her hand by her ear that had the earpiece in it. As she did that, her father would look back over at them and she gave a little nod, knowing he'd be looking for it. "He wants us to meet in the courtyard after this, just outside."
