The leaves crunched under Cynthia's feet as she wandered around in the park, closer to the pine trees. She usually didn't like fall, but it was suffering under a warm spell, and she wanted to take advantage of it before the cold and snow came in and covered the land, keeping her cooped up inside and grumpy.
One didn't like with Cynthia was grumpy.
Thought it allowed her to do more digital painting inspired by her photos, it still couldn't beat going outside and just getting yourself lost, though making sure you had the tools and ability to get back, and just in nature. Which is why she was outside for now. She got to see the park in a different way, what with most of the trees being naked or mostly naked with only a bit of green hanging around.
So far she had been unsuccessful in getting any good pictures with her camera, but it still beat sitting inside with nothing fun to do, at least to her. It made it too easy to get addicted to video games and as nice as her brothers were to let her have a turn on their consoles, it wasn't a good habit to develop.
She continued to crunch her way through the park, ignoring the sidewalks and generally going in whatever random direction looked good to her at the time. However, something in the corner of her eye caught her attention and she went over to inspect what it was. It seemed to be... a pile of something. But she wasn't sure what. Mushrooms most likely, but curiosity got the better of her and she went towards it.

The pile was most definitely not mushrooms, and was in fact, a very large, very sleepy cat. A very sleepy cat who heard footsteps coming closer and felt the glimmering feeling of an unawakened senshi…well…perhaps she could nap later.
Moving to her feet, Julienne shook off the leaves which had been serving as a blanket and stretched, digging her claws into the ground as she did so and letting out a very satisfied sounding meow.
As she looked around, she drew the pink hat that always adorned her head off of the ground and flipped it into the air, pleased that it landed in just the right spot. Slowly the Siberian made her way over to the girl, yawning again and sitting at her feet, looking up. Yes indeed. This was the unawakened senshi that she felt all right. So, the only reasonable thing to do in this situation would be to awaken her. “Hello there. Would you like to know a secret?”
Julienne paused for a moment, expecting some sort of reaction from the girl, but not wanting the reaction to go on for too long. “You’re a special person, and I can give you the tools to become even more special. Magical, even.”

Cynthia jumped back a bit when the pile suddenly moved and a cat appeared, shaking leaves off of them. Cythina let out an "Aww, such a cute kitty!" And, unable to help herself, lowered herself to the cat's height to see if it was friendly. What she wasn't expecting was the cat to talk, which made her fall over. Luckily not too hard, but still, a talking cat?! Now on her butt, hands propping her up, she looked over at the cat, trying to make sure it had actually said what she thought it had said. Is the secret that cats can talk and understand human language and we just don't know about it? She thought.
But no, the cat continued to speak. At this point Cynthia was pretty sure the cat was either a hallucination brought on by sniffing wild mushrooms accidentally when she bent down, or the cat was sleeping on hallucinogenic mushrooms. Either way, this was [not] happening.
Should she go with the hallucination? It said she was special... hopefully this wouldn't end with Cynthia sleeping on the sidewalk or something. "Special and magical? How is that possible?" Oh great, now she was talking to it, as though this was all really happening.

When the girl fell over, Julienne nodded, somewhat satisfied. She hadn’t wanted her to fall over…but hey. It was still a reaction. “Good, you haven’t screamed or started saying that this is a dream. You’re doing better than some do. Now, how is it possible? It’s just your destiny, that’s all.”
Julienne let out a satisfied yawn, then wiggled her butt for a moment before jumping into the air and doing a rather spectacular somersault before landing on her feet, though now she had what looked to be a pen in her mouth. Placing it on the ground by the girl’s knees, the cat moved closer, beginning to purr. “This is how you’re special and magical. This will unlock your potential and allow you to transform into Sailor Larissa, and you’ll have the power of water lilies. That sounds so nice.”
Her purr grew louder and she rubbed against Cynthia’s leg. “Please take that, and I need you to say, ‘Larissa Power, Make up!’ and you’ll unlock your true power. You are very special, and I’m so excited to awaken you to that potential.”

This either had to be a dream or hallucinations, and her money was still on hallucinogenic mushrooms. The cat started talking more and Cynthia truly wondered if she was going insane. The cat told her she was special and then suddenly doing a somersault in the air and some sort of pen landed on the ground.
A cat doing magic tricks? It was definitely the shrooms.
"Uh..." Cynthia was kind of dumbfounded by all of this, and really did consider running away and screaming like crazy. But, if her hallucination could be interacted with, and hopefully there weren't any people around to witness it, it couldn't be so bad to just go along with it right? Unless by following the strange hallucination cat she would somehow hurt herself.
She sighed. "All right. Guess I'll do it then." The kitty didn't seem to want to hurt her at least. Hopefully. Cynthia slowly got to her feet, and looked around. It didn't seem as though anyone else was there. She took the pen and said, "Larissa Power, Make up!" And suddenly it felt like she was naked for a few seconds! Sure, clothes seemed to be put back on her, but she had been naked in PUBLIC for a bit. Soon enough however, she opened her eyes, when had she closed them? And found herself in a wildly different outfit than what she had been wearing, one that clearly screamed 'SPRING!' and certainly wasn't suited for Fall weather. Luckily it was pretty warm out so the outfit didn't seem to be a problem. "What... just happened? And why do I have this... outfit on?" She wasn't exactly sure what it was, but it wouldn't have been something she would choose to wear out of a wardrobe lineup.

Julienne seemed quite satisfied when the girl transformed. She had done it so perfectly and the cat couldn’t help but be pleased. “Well…I’m sure you’ve noticed the strange things that go on in this city, right? How there are fights and disappearances and monsters?”
She must have known, this girl didn’t seem the type who was living under a rock…and she seemed sensible.
“Well, you’re a guardian who is here to protect the innocent. You have powers, abilities that will let you fight against the darkness that threatens our city…You’re Sailor Larissa, the senshi of Water Lilies, and you’re absolutely wonderful!”
The cat rubbed against the senshi’s legs, admiring the rich greens of her fuku. “You have magic now! Powers to help you fight the darkness…to access your magic, you need only say ‘Waterlily Dance!’ and when you use that against those who are trying to do bad things…it will help you.
She wasn’t sure what the magic did…but at least now Larissa knew what to say in order to use it.

Did hallucinations feel this real? 'Larissa' wasn't sure, but she now felt like she actually wasn't wearing all the clothes that she had been, and did feel only a tiny bit colder. Maybe all of this was actually happening? She listened to the cat and thought about it. Sure, there were a lot of strange things that happened int he city. The news seemed to brush over it, acting as though there were just a bunch of crazy people around, which was still scary, or that something just didn't happen when it obviously did. And there were definitely a lot of disappearances, not that she knew of any in particular, but the news at least reported on them, like any other city.
Was... was what the cat saying really true? That there was something, well, evil actually doing all of this? "Sailor Larissa? I guess that's a nice name." She was more calm now, though her mind was racing. She supposed it was one of those weird survival mechanisms the brain went through to not drive a person crazy. "Guardian? I don't really know how to fight though." The cat said she had magic powers, though she didn't know what it did. But from what she had heard about self-defense, it was more getting out of the situation. So if she could protect people by getting them out of situations and fighting as a last resort, she might be able to do it.
She felt the cat rub up against her. She bent down to pet her a bit, though it seemed a bit weird to be petting a cat who could talk. "Okay, water lilies sound interesting, but who are you? And am I just fighting against monsters?"

Julienne purred loudly as Larissa began to pet her and for a moment she didn’t say anything else, seeming quite distracted. “Mmm, no, not just monsters…though, I suppose if you look at it from another angle, the people you fight are just monsters too. There’s a lot of chaos in the city. People who just want to hurt others for the sake of their ‘cause’.” She bristled slightly and sighed.
“The people who are corrupted might seem friendly, but the chaos that fills them is a taint…it starts ebbing away at who they are, turning them from someone who might have been a sweet, loving friend and changing them into a bloodthirsty killer who has no desire to do anything but serve the Negaverse—that’s them. That’s the really bad ones…they…”
She shuddered. “They’re horrible. The literally make monsters, and they kill without a thought. Stealing energy…stealing people’s very souls.” Julienne paused for a moment and sighed. “I’m not trying to scare you. That’s the last thing I want you to do…I just…want you to be prepared, Larissa, you’re one of my senshi now, and I want to make sure you have the best chance at being the best you can…”

'Larissa' was still questioning this situation quite a bit, and wondering if she was going to wake up from the pile of leaves 100 years later or something. It felt so real though... She sighed. Well it seemed that she had been 'chosen' or something, to help the world, and she did want to help with that. It was okay trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible, but a teenager could only do so much. It's not as though she had a job that could possibly change the world.
So... if there was some way to help, even if it meant risking herself, that would be okay, right? But the Negaverse... that name just sounded evil. It seemed that Julienne was truly worried that Larissa would run off screaming. But if Larissa could handle a talking kitty popping out of a pile of leaves, she might be able to handle... okay well that in no way prepared her for what seemed to be serial killers, but maybe she could help fight against the monsters at least! "All right Julienne. It is a lot to take in right now, and I'm probably going to have more questions later, but..." and she looked at the kitty in the eye, holding her face a little.
"If I'm your senshi, then I would appreciate any help along the way, okay?" She asked, rubbing the cat's back a bit. After all, if this kitty was going to awaken her, then she might as well help with the basics. She wasn't sure how much the kitty could help, so just general information would be best now.
She gave a soft smile to the kitty. "If you want, we can talk about this somewhere warmer? But if you're tired," Larissa certainly was, "then we can talk later, all right?"Orangeish Sherbert" Last post from me! Thanks so much for the rp!

When Larissa capitulated that she was indeed Julienne’s senshi, the cat began purring, the strength of the purrs increasing as her back began to be rubbed. “No, I think going somewhere warmer and talking sounds fantastic, Larissa. And…when you’re ready to go back to being your normal self, all you have to do is think about who you are, and you’ll change back, super easy!”
The thought of warmth though, warmth and perhaps even a nice meal, caused Julienne to sigh in content. It was always nice finding new senshi, always nice to make new friends and find new places to sleep…and it was always nice to know that she was making a difference in the war, no matter how small that difference might be.
“Lead the way, my friend!”
