It had seemed like a good idea at the time. Nix was still very new to this whole Senshi business, but after spending several straight days running and jumping, and puzzling out how to do the most basic of things (not to mention looking at the magic gadgets he got—space iPhones, who knew?), he thought that he could take one of those Youma things that had tried to eat him a few weeks back. He hadn’t actually sought one out. Wasn’t off patrolling or anything. (That sort of thing sounded a bit too organized to just up and do because you felt like it, to him.) He just happened to be at the right place at the right time to actually see one of the things. It was prowling behind someone hurrying home, oblivious to what was behind them, and he managed to nail the thing in what he thought was a most impressive way. It even burst into dust like the first one he’d seen. He had approximately 10 seconds of feeling proud of himself before he heard something behind him, and spun around. There were two more. He looked back and forth between the two, eyes wide, and his arms out some. "Oh crap," he muttered, suspecting that if he went for one, the other would get him in the back, and if he ran, they'd get him good. At the edge of his awareness, he thought he detected something else nearby, but his attention was a bit too held up to concentrate on it. This whole 'sensing auras' thing was a strange thing that he hadn't fully gotten used to yet, either. He could only hope it wasn't more of these things...or worse.

"Alright.... Alright, you can do this..." Susquehanna muttered to himself as he stepped out of the safety of his neighborhood and further into the dimly light streets. A couple of months had passed since he stepped foot outside at night on his own and it was more than a little unsettling. After the last powered outing he had no desire to keep going out, and any mirrored surface caused him immense distress, but hiding in the house wasn't going to make anything better, especially since he wanted to protect someone. He knew he wouldn't become any stronger if he just hid away like a frightened child.
The first few blocks he passed by in the dim light were peaceful, no sign of youma or any powered allies. It almost seemed soothing to the easily panicked Knight, hearing only the occasional car passing on a far away street or the sound of music playing from a house he passed. Part of him almost thought it wasn't worth being out at this time, given how nice everything had been. Of course, nothing stayed so simple, as he felt that aura of chaos mixed with Order not too far away. They both seemed fairly even powered... Maybe he didn't need to go see what was going on... But what if it was Mamertime...? Susquehanna hadn't seen the man in months, and he would feel even worse than he already did if he let his fear be the reason why came back hurt or worse.
He caved easily at that worried thought, feat racing to go and check on just who it was trapped by the chaos, and upon his arrival, his eyes went wide.
It was just a boy, a young boy, cornered by what looked like small angry youma's. It was just instinct that drove the Knight to summon his weapon and run up to one of the monsters, giving it a nice hard wack upside the head. Hopefully the boy on the other side could use his magic or something to take care of the other one during this fight, because the moment he hit the youma and it turned it's head, eyes landing on him, he squeaked and started going in the other direction, already hearing one set of feet chasing after him.

The youma were edging in closer...Nix was about to try whapping one in the face with his tongue when suddenly one of them was hit upside the head with...a little paddle(?!) wielded by a guy in a funny hat. He was surprised by the sudden turn of events, but Nix wasn't about to let an opportunity go to waste, and immediately shot his magical tongue out at the not-yet-attacked youma, hitting it hard enough to just confuse it a bit and make it angry...but he wasn't worried about the second one now, since it was figh...erm. Chasing the other guy now, so Nix was ready to deal with this one directly, and followed up his tongue bash with charging forward with a leap to put his fist right into it. With the monster skidding backward from the hit, Nix took a moment to look in the direction of his savior. "H-hey! just hit it again!" he called out.

Susquehanna hadn't run very far when he hard the kid call out to him, and he realized just how far he had started to run. Flight kicked in rather than fight as it often had, and he was nearly a block away by the time he snapped out of it.
That's right! It was a youma, not a human. Those he could fight. Those he didn't have to be afraid of because they were just monsters... They weren't humans, they weren't able to think like they could, they only knew how to eat and fight, so.... He could fight them back! To save people!
Firmly planting his heel on the ground, Susquehanna spun around, using the momentum he had from it to give the youma a proper kick upside the head, sending it flying into the brick wall beside them. Though he didn't think about it immediately, he was glad it was a garden wall rather than a house... That's just what they needed, having people come out and investigate what was going on.
Of course the hit didn't dust it, but it was enough to leave it dazed giving Susquehanna enough time to dash over to it again and give it a good wallop with his oar until it gave it's last angry hiss and burst into dust. The moment it was gone, he turned again, racing back to the kid he had left behind in his panic, only to see him... Lick it?
That was enough to make him pause in confusion. "Are.... D-do you need more help?"
Of course he did. He was a kid fighting a monster! Rather than stand there stunned, he ran back to the kid's side, giving the youma a hard punt towards the wall before passing it.
"Are you going to be okay? I-it didn't hurt you, did it?"

As the second Youma was defeated, Nix had hopped back to get the thing to lunge at him...He deflected it away with another Tongue Bash, spoiling its jump and giving him an opportunity to punch it hard again. It wasn't dead yet...But then the knight came back and punted it. It landed with a pretty unpleasant crunch, although didn't turn to dust quite yet. "I'm okay, They didn't really get me at all," he said, and glanced at the guy. The look on his face actually made Nix laugh once. "That's not my real tongue, you know." He stuck his real tongue out briefly. "It's just what I do!" The last youma was getting back up again, so he put on a serious face again. "Look out, I think it's pissed!"

Oh, good. Good good, the little boy was still okay. That much couldn't be said for the youma who was still struggling to stand and fight back the two ordered individuals.
"What you do...? Still, I think licking youma's might be a little.. Unsanitary. You might get sick..." Ever the worrywart, Susquehanna's mind wandered off into the 'what if's and maybe's' instead of focusing on the youma that was already before him. So.. When it got up and lunged at him, he was caught by surprised and taken to the ground, the small youma not big enough to pin him down, but it's snarling and clashing teeth were just enough to keep him from doing nothing more than keeping it away from his throat.
"AH!!" he squeaked, fingers trying to dig at the joints of the youma to try to get it to scramble away. Sadly, it was not working one bit. "H-Help, p-please!"

Nix blinked in surprise. “Well…I guess it might be?” he ventured. “But then that tongue disappears, so it’s fi—oop!” the Youma was back in business and pouncing all over the guy again. “Hang on!” he said quickly, and took a couple steps back before lunging forward and ramming himself bodily into it, slamming it right off the knight, and then into the ground…with Nix following with it. He landed on the thing with a thump and a bounce, and it exploded into dust around him. He coughed once, mostly from the force of the impact, but partly from the dust, and rolled onto his butt to sit up and grin awkwardly at his…savior. Yeah, let’s go with that. “Thanks for the help!” he said, and coughed again, shaking his head. “Whew, that wasn’t the best move…I’m fine!” he added quickly. “I’m Nix, and I’m glad you came along when you did! That would’ve sucked alone.”

It took a long moment for Susquehanna to realize he was alright, panting as he laid sprawled on the ground after the monster was tackle crushed by the smaller senshi. One he did, however, he got back up and hurried to the kid, worrying and brushing off any lingering dust on him.
"Ah... I'm sorry, I'm not the biggest help. I'm glad you're alright though. Your magic seems really useful though, despite it having to touch everything... I do hope you don't get sick..." Part of him really wished he had some magic to use and no a small tiny oar that was only as good as his confidence was that day. Atleast no one got hurt!
"I'm Susquehanna, Page of Jupiter. What is your magic? You look a little froggy. Is that it?"

With eyebrows pushed together quizzically, Nix smiled at this guy… Susquehanna. He was quietly glad his powered name was really short. He didn’t object to getting brushed off, and said, “I’m Nix! Uh, Senshi of Frogs, yup! I’m sure I won’t get sick from doing that. It’s not like I really lick them,” he stuck his tongue out briefly. “That’d be gross!” He adjusted one of his gloves idly and said, “I read about Pages and Knights and stuff, but, I never met one before. Does that mean you’re from Jupiter?” He scratched his head. “Wait, no. That wasn’t it…uh…” He shrugged, and gave a thumbs up, his quizzical frown long gone. “Cool either way. Do you have magic and stuff?”

"Well, if you are certain, it's nice to meet you, Nix. Frog licking is gross... Unless you're sick, and you're in the Avatar the Last Airbender world. They had the sickness with the fevers, the bother and sister... And... The main character had to get them frozen frogs for the medicine that came out of their skin... I guess only during that time is it okay to lick a frog... Oh, but we weren't talking about frogs licking but licking other things.. Weren't we?" His mind still seemed a bit fuddled up after the fight, as he often found himself rambling on a bit when nerves were on the verge of being shot.
"H-huh? Oh, uh, no, not from Jupiter. Atleast I don't think so...? I think it's more like, Jupiter has a place there that I'm supposed to protect, but somehow I was born here instead of there, and... Well, it seems like there's more that needs protecting here than on Jupiter right now... When I get better at fighting, anyway..." Susquehanna would be the first to admit he wasn't the best fighter, but he was trying. That's more than he could say about himself before. The thumbs up from Nix recieved a shy smile back and he nodded, giving his own little thumbs up as well.
"No magic, not yet... I'm only a Page, magic comes when I hit Squire, from what I've learned. But right now, nothing. It is a little late though, shouldn't you be heading home? It only gets more dangerous from here, and we're not even in a park or somewhere where the youma get more and more fierce... I think I'll head home myself.... I'm not new but just... Getting used to it."

Nix laughed lightly, shaking his head. "Never licked a frog," he said. "But I remember that episode! Avatar was a great show." "Well, I'll bet you'll get cool magic maybe, uh..." he paused, considering the outfit of Susquehanna. "You know, I dunno how knight magic works, you don't have something obvious like 'frogs'." He shrugged. "Anyway, uh, thank you again for helping! Going home would, erm, be a great idea." He nodded, glancing around. "Yeah, definitely." He held out a hand to shake. "Until we meet again!" Once they shook hands, he'd run off into the night. He'd probably head home. Fighting three of those Youma was a bit rattling...he was still super new to fighting magical monsters, and while he was good at grinning and acting brave, but he was shaking a bit...and really just wanted to sit on his bed for a while.

"It was!" Conversation with this kid seemed to come easy, and it was a refreshing change from his normally bumbling words and conversations with those closer to his age. Perhaps because of how often he did stay around children when he went to the hospitals. It was most likely because of that bond with them he worried greatly for their wellbeing, even though he knew more often than not he was helpless to do anything.
That being said, atleast he knew this particular kid had his own power to defend him, and that brought a great deal of comfort to him.
"If I ever do happen to find out what my magic is, I hope I have the chance to show you." But tonight was not that night, and with a hand shake, they parted ways.
"Take care, Nix, and stay safe, alright?" That said, he turned back the way he came, heading to his own home and soft bed to recover from all the excitement.
