Anti-fascism and communism
The communists historically have preferred to use the term anti-fascism to make their views more palatable to the general populace who, by and large widely needed convincing to follow the state's harsh and often oppressive rules. Riots and disorder was frequent and so, to belay the people's retaliation they often had to invent threats that the government was supposedly fighting to justify the often extreme measures they took. For instance, the Berlin Wall was officially known as Antifaschistischer Schutzwall (‘Anti-Fascist Protection Rampart’), denoting the communists view that they were fighting fascism . The term Schutzwall has defensive connotations and is hence used euphemistically here, giving the impression that the people of the GDR had to be protected from an outside threat. Many communist terror cells, funded or even created by the soviet union called themselves anti-fascist groups (such as blank x etc.), representing a mindset that could more easily penetrate in to societies not as open to communism or marxist viewpoints, but more open to the idea of uniting to fight a common enemy which could be carefully crafted and controlled in the minds of their followers and those exposed to the propaganda.
While an interesting trend and look in to the mindset and psychology of the communists, it is particularly concerning that this terminology has made it's way in to common vernacular in many western countries, including the United States. Groups, such as Anti-fa, responsible for violence at various anti-government and anti-establishment protests (such as burning down schools and small businesses, apparently to fight "the man", rather than attacking the supposedly evil corporations themselves), have begun springing up in the west, officially declared a terrorist organization in the U.S. and committing acts of violence globally, such as in Germany at the G20 summit. The Communist mindset, at it's core is not really about the support of the communist system itself, which takes the form of an amorphous rorscheck test that represents whatever the follower projects on to it barely held together by a thin veil of vague, connected ideas, but really more so grounded in what they are united against. They dislike capitalism, imperialism and, what they tend to deem fascism. As fascism is seen as the worst of all of these common enemies, these countries delved deeply in to a paranoid delusional focus on anti-fascist activities, largely predicated on fighting and developing means to fight an external outside aggressor, or bogeyman, known as "the fascists". While the Nazis were a real threat to Russia once, decades later they had ceased to be a real problem and thus the communist insistence that their organization was necessary to defend against this external threat gave them leniency to operate accordingly as a police state with the approval of enough within the public sphere and their own militaries. The paranoid delusional tail-spin that would inevitably lead to the organization delving deeper and deeper in to the rabbit hole, and would lead to the organization seeing nazis and fascists everywhere, even where they did not exist, in order to spread and justify the beliefs as well as the actions and behavior of the communist state.
The sad thing is this same state of affairs is happening now, in the modern west, in what many would consider to be free-world democracies, despite the lack of official state-run propaganda. The rampant fear of secret neo-nazis everywhere, especially in regards to entertainers and enemy politicians, has given rise to an ability to create witch hunts on people who, by virtually all accounts on the outside, are innocent of what they are accused or committed comparatively less severe crimes than the actual nazis in real life (who murdered millions of people). The equivocation to fascists or nazis, the manipulation of language and facts, the lies of omission and even at times straight fabrications all contribute to a pervasive aura of fear, which leads many not only to see nazis everywhere but live daily in fear of them and how their secret power is influenced over the entire country. What is less important is the actual prevalence of the threat and more so the perception in public mind, which is controlled in large part due to the absolute domination of the media.
It's easy to see the parallels between the modern left and the communists, given their similar viewpoints, attitudes, behavior, tactics, terminology and inevitably, even the exact same terms of which they refer to themselves with (such as groups calling themselves "anti-fascists", despite not fighting fascists). This deliberate manipulation of language, and the generation of a climate of fear, reminding us there are still witches or, in this case "fascists" among us is used to control and manipulate the populace at large, in to supporting behaviors or acts they would ordinarily condemn disagree with. This constant, undeclared state of war and thus the justification to do "what is necessary" to win gives them carte blanch to do whatever they want, in regards to moral justification within their own group, thus muting any kind of response against their own people. This can be seen with Bernie Sanders who, despite being seen as mistreated by the
The ability to create and exploit an ever persistent, omnipresent, always present threat in order to justify the most wicked behaviors and cloak their corrupt actions is an exceptionally powerful tool, and perhaps the greatest extension of their absolute control over the media. The ability to downplay the actions of their own side or even justify them to their constituents can allow them to essentially do anything they want without moral recourse or retaliation, thus giving them what is essentially a blank check to commit any horror necessary to win. The great irony of their actions is that they use a lie to justify lying about their opponents, with the followers ironically never questioning if the first statements were a lie as well. The propaganda is as insidious as it is virulent, spreading to virtually all faucets of modern life and virtually unavoidable in your daily activities, present in Hollywood, the media, TV shows and video games and even your average football game where the ever present droning of the left infiltrates the vast majority of their lives. In their schools, in their favorite TV programs and even eventually their homes, the most extreme segments of the left have managed to not only take over their own party, crushing any moderate opposition (such as Bernie Sanders)
To the left, the most terrifying kink possible in their plan has occurred, with the election of Donald Trump and a Republican majority in the white house. An almost impossible to rectify conundrum, the bewildered left has now met it's worst nightmare and as a result, is likely to continue onwards even deeper in to their delusional paranoid tailspin, with those at the top scrambling to keep control of their organization as it rips itself apart from the inside. This is likely to culminate in a breaking point which, will inevitably, lead to more corrupt acts and even potentially violence, as we are seeing via the multitude of riots in the streets, many of them by groups paid by the DNC and even at times operating directly by their direction. Like a pheonix from the ashes, the DNC is going through a purge, and by the end of this cleansing in a bathe of fire will emerge from the ashes purified as an organization dominated by nothing more than the most extreme of the organization, who now feel they had not been extreme enough to win. With many considering Hillary Clinton to being too conservative, despite considering 47% of the population to fascists, racists, sexists and all the other buzzwords which denote hate and evil, one can only imagine what a "true liberal" in their mind really is. Nothing more than the total destruction of the Republican party and it's purging will be seen as acceptable by the left, who if they gain power will use it to systematically destroy the right, moderates and any opposition remaining within the left, with their own side cheering them on and even celebrating this win as a victory. In their minds, they are fighting fascists after all and, what is to be done to fascists other than their total annihilation?
There can of course be no compromise with an ultimate evil, who's racist, sexist, and bigoted in every way, and thus the left cannot accept any substitute than the total destruction of their enemies. In this way the left has made it's own bed or dug it's own grave, forcing them to admit fault or even defeat in the face of adversity, or double down and continue to proclaim the other side an ultimate evil, and be forced to be at odds with them in a state that can only be likened to total war. It is not a battle of policy, facts or viewpoints, but rather merely culture, a culture that believes and perceives a different reality than the other, one that is sadly fabricated from a modicum of well crafted lies and lies of omission, held together and promoted by the media and other political outlets. This organization is exceptionally fragile, due to the all encompassing nature of the truth, and thus only through absolute domination can it maintain it's deathgrip on the people's views. Common sense and intuition, as well as empathy and compassion, will inevitably win out against the worse ideas and thus, there can be no ideas other than their own allowed. Echo chambers must be enforced, with debates shut down, any opposition dismissed outright as fascists and nazis, or some other kind of evil and all opposing viewpoints be shunned or outright excluded. Fox news or other right-wing sources are automatically seen as incorrect despite the true value of their evidence, and left-wing sources in contradiction to the narrative of the left-wing establishment, such as the DNC, will be branded as right-wing or even alt-right or fascist in nature, in order to discredit it without providing a real argument based on evidence and facts. Individual people, including woman and children as well as the men we traditionally see as fighters, will be targeted and even destroyed in this fight, casualties of a war they didn't even know they were a part of. Violence indeed has been used already against Milo, Laci Green, Dave Rubin, Pewdiepie and many other in attempts to silence them, and the damage will move beyond reputation and career prospects if deemed necessary. 40,000 protesters marched against an Indian man who spoke out against racism in his home country, because of an incorrect smear in the media labeling him as a white supremacist. An entire army of people, mobilized in an instant, to crush a small 100 person speaking event that had to spent months to get permits and security, destroyed in an instant by an angry mob blissfully unaware of the intentions of their directors. An unspoken surreptitious war, designed to erode our liberties and self reliance, but more importantly our sense of self and our sensibilities, our culture, has begun which is already having impacts on the real world.
The battle is not over policy, rights, or the like but rather mere feeling, which is monumentally more important than any specific form of legislation. This is being used by itself as a replacement for actual change and benefit to real people or society, and serves as a substitute to trick many in to supporting candidates who support no actual policy. It has become more effective to support an idea of an idea, substancless rhetoric to push a concept, rather than real policy with real impact.
We not only have seen this in the past before, with the fascist boogeyman used to trick millions in to supporting a corrupt and authoritarian communist government, but are seeing it play out right now in front of our own eyes. This represents a threat greater than what we have faced before, destined to overtake our society unless we stand in it's way. Despite the fabrications of an imaginary enemy, this supposed enemy by itself is not a justifiable moral excuse to commit heinous acts, even if it were real. Authoritarianism is not a way to fight authoritarianism, and the fear of fascism is not an excuse to become fascists yourself. You must be better than your enemy, and not justify becoming like them in order to defeat them, as it is indeed our empathy, our compassion, our morals and principles and integrity that will lead us in to defeating them, that will lead us in to victory. We must not be tricked in to believing that evil corrupt tactics are the key to winning, as they will ultimately be the downfall of these organizations when the masses realize what they have done and turn against them; when these organizations destroy themselves from the inside out and suffer from bad policy. Even if this supposedly fascist enemy exists, it is not fascism that is the key to fighting fascism. Sacrificing our own freedoms will not protect us from losing them by the fascists, it will just be another way for us to fall to what they want. Sacrificing our own freedom of speech, right to defend ourselves or run our lives as we see fit will not stop our enemies from getting what they want, it will give them exactly what they want. We must not become so committed to fighting our enemy that we become like them, or even worse become them, as it is not only immoral, but would ultimately lead to our downfall. Even if this imaginary bogeyman exists, it is not a justification to do immoral things; a child can tell you that two wrongs don't make a right, and you are responsible for your own actions, regardless of what organization you try and deflect them on to. We must acknowledge and defeat this threat which, sadly exists primarily on one side of the political spectrum at the moment, in order for the continued survival of a free and moral society to exist. This is not meant to be a partisan attack at any one side, but rather an objective look at the circumstances and an understanding of the tactics and methods they are prepared to use to win.
