[PRP] Brother? (Anrothan, Saoirse, Somhairle & Damu)

Distantly, she was pretty sure she was being lazy... and perhaps driving her poor mate crazy, but Saoirse wasn't motivated to move from her spot. She'd found a nice sunny place and had nestled comfortably in the grass, ready to just sleep the day away. And for the most part, she had succeeded in that plan.

To be fair, pregnancy was exhausting, and she fully believed that she deserved the rest. These pups sure loved to kick. She was surprised they didn't make any noise when they did so! So said Roth, anyway. She wasn't sure if she believed him

Speaking of, her mate had wandered off somewhere, after saying something about getting some food. Which did sound nice, now that she thought about it, but not enough to get her up. So she'd stubbornly refused to move, and Roth had been forced to hunt by himself. Ah, well. He should be back soon.

Anrothan, meanwhile, had managed to catch a rabbit, and was making his way back to his mate. It wasn't the bulkiest thing in the world, and unfortunately would only feed one... but he already knew he would be giving it to Saoirse. Both she and their pups needed it, and he could live without food for now.

Their pups. Just the thought left a giddy flutter in his paws, he could hardly believe it! He couldn't WAIT to meet them, to teach them.

Though he was starting to suspect that it wouldn't be long before that was a reality. Saoirse has been pregnant for a while now, her stomach close to bursting (in his opinion), and he was starting to worry. Would she be alright? She was insisting she was fine, but what would they do when it happened?

His worrying was cut short, though, when a new scent drifted on the wind towards him. Roth froze, nose tilting up to take in whatever it was. It was coming from the direction he was heading... where Saoirse was!

Gripping the rabbit tighter in his mouth, he broke off into a run, wanting to get to her hopefully before whoever it was did.

It wasn't often that Damu wanted to go down the mountain. He had been a wanderer when he was young, travelling the open spaces to his hearts content. When he had gone blind, he was forced to stay in places he could recognize, and places that he was safe.

After he'd started a family, the itch to travel had mostly diminished, but today his mother had taken their babies to coddle - they were weaned and it was fine for them to leave for a couple days. He wouldn't have left if he thought his babies would need him. The whole pack was watching out for them, and his mother had raised him after all. Damu wanted to just... go!

Of course, he couldn't. Not on his own. It was a good thing he had such a lovely and doting mate as Airle. He was practically pressed against his mate's side. Their progress was slow, of course. Airle had to murmur any obstacles so he wouldn't trip and fall. He still stumbled every now and again, if Airle didn't see something or Damu misjudged the distance or height of something.

Soon they would find a place to rest, though, and Airle would hunt for them.

Saoirse had started to doze off again when the thumping of something on the ground broke her out of her reverie. Blue eyes slowly blinking open again, the wild dog looked around for whatever could have made such a violent vibration. Roth...?

But then her gaze fell upon something decidedly not her mate - not even a wild dog, in fact.

A leopard... and a hungry looking one. Ears flattening against her head, she stumbled up to her feet, which unfortunately set the feline off. The next thing she knew, it was charging at her. Heart sinking, Saoirse scrambled back a few steps, despite knowing she had nowhere else to go.

A snarl left his throat as he dove through the air, tackling the cat mid jump. Damn it, he shouldn't have left her alone like that! Leopard were quiet, crafty creatures, and while not all cared to attack them, the hungry ones would view a pregnant wild dog as a tasty meal.

Well, not on his watch!

Antrothan bit and scratched at the offender, kicking at him to try and get the leopard to back off as the two tumbled across the dirt floor. He ignored the claws digging into him, and so into his fight, he also didn't notice the familiar wild dog approaching nearby.
