She was itching to get out of the room. Lena was off doing something without her (which surprised her, but it was a good thing) and she'd been idly scrolling through the contact list in her phone.
There were names of people she didn't know and the few that she did.
Eventually she gave up on that and began flicking through messages, eventually settling on Henry's name. Chewing on her lip, she debated her options. In the end, she sent him a text.
beejoux Text to Henry: I'm bored, meet me for a spar in like twenty?

The text would be returned promptly. Nuxaz Text to Luka: Sure, I'll see you there! Outside, twenty minutes later, Luka would find Henry sitting on one of the picnic tables that surrounded the training field, a very new looking 3DS in his hands and some upbeat, 8-bit sounding music floating out through the speaker of it. If she happened to peek over his shoulder, she'd see him playing what looked like the newest Pokemon game.

Once the text was received, Luka slipped on her trainers and made sure to double knot the laces to keep them from untying as she walked. She wasn't willing to deal with the potential embarrassment that came from tripping in the middle of a spar!
Her steps were relatively quiet as she came up behind Henry, peering over his shoulders after she pushed up her glasses.
"Hiya, Henry." She greeted with a tap to his shoulder. "When'd you get that?" It hadn't occurred to her that she could get something like a 3DS with any of the money her and Lena had been saving up.

Engrossed in what he was doing, he didn't hear Luka walking up behind him, nor was he aware of her presence until she was tapping him on the shoulder and saying hello, which resulted in him jumping a good few inches off the bench and damn near dropping the gaming system. It took a bit of fumbling to keep it from hitting the ground, and once he had his hands on it again, and looked up at the other trainee, he looked vaguely embarrassed, but also happy to see her. "Hi, Luka." Baby blues flicked down to the 3DS, then back up to her, and he grinned. "Not long after we helped out on that mission to make the rain stopped. I used some of my bonus to get it and have it modded to work on runic power." Honestly, the idea had occurred to him either, not until he'd seen people talking about other gaming systems on Twitter. "What have you been up to, how's Lena?"

Luka couldn't help but giggle at Henry's reaction, feeling only slightly bad for scaring him. "Whoops," she said, hand over her mouth to hide her too large grin. "I'll try to be less quiet when I come up behind you," she offered, tucking her arms behind her back as she toed at the ground.
"Oh, that's neat!" She only had a vague idea that they could do that so it was exciting to see it in practice. "Lena's good, she's in the room reading. I needed some fresh air. She doesn't like being as active as I do."
Luka shrugged, nodding over to the field. "You ready?"

"Or I could get you a cat bell for Christmas," he teased back. "Then you won't be able to sneak up on folks." He really wasn't too bothered by it, but he'd managed to find a bit of confidence lately that made him a bit more comfortable with witty banter. He closed the game with a soft snap and set it on the table, then shed his hoodie and tossed it down beside it. "Yeah, I'm ready." As he got to his feet he'd summon his weapon, the over large start hat was both close combat, or, if his aim were true, ranged. nuxaz I'll roll after your next tag, since they aren't quite on the field yet.

"Maybe we just need to work on your sensing abilities." Luka tried to counter, pushing up her glasses as her sneakers carried her forward. Once they were on the field she tugged up her coat, quietly telling herself that she could do it.
Luka felt like she'd been good about actively keeping up on her stamina workouts and general training.
Steeling herself, she toyed with the bracelet on her wrist before allowing Aran to manifest in her hand. Unlike Henry, for maximum efficiency she needed range.
"Let's do this."

"Maybe," he conceded with a grin as they took their places or in the field. "Bell light be more fun, though." He was teasing, of course. She seemed ready, so the Mist took the opportunity to claim the first move. Niceven was drawn back, body twisting, so he could hurl the large star at her. HP: 40 DMG: 3 CHG: 1/3

"I'm sure there's a compromise somewhere," she chirped, fingers tapping the handle of Aran in anticipation. Henry's weapon was thrown and she hurried back, feeling the way it rumbled across her shield.
Her response was quicker, an arrow notched and set free almost immediately once she got her fingers around it.

He considered that for a moment before shrugging. "Probably, but I can't think of one at that moment." The arrow zipped past his arm, sizzling along his shield as it flew past, and he twitched away from where it'd been. "Maybe it'll come to me later." If not, oh well. He ran at her then, Nicky up and ready, but when she swung at her, the points slipped by without touching her. HP: 39 DMG: - CHG: 1/3

Luka failed to keep the grin off her face. She couldn't think of a compromise either, trying to focus on the task at hand because it was more pressing. Her eyes narrowed, nose wrinkling in a poor attempt to push her glasses up when he ran at her.
Sneakers hurried to back away, narrowly avoiding the hit. In her hurry, she just lashed out with the bow in hand and failed, falling on her butt when she lost her balance.

Or, he supposed, he could have a little fun with it and just buy a cat collar with a hell on it and have it on the twins' door as a joke. ~ Nows no the time, boil.~ The fey was right. Henry let the smile fade from boyish features as he shifted his group on his weapon. There would be plenty of time for goofing off later. Changing tactics, he planted his foot where he stood and twisted, throwing the star at the other trainee like a viciously pointy frisbee. HP: 39 DMG: 8 CHG: 2/3

She clearly needed to work on her aim because she wasn't doing a very good job of actually hitting him.
Her nose wrinkled, working to get her glasses up her nose further when he threw out his star and she scrambled back. It hit harder than she anticipated and she was left winded, skidding back. A few arrows were notched and she let them fly hoping for the best.

One arrow wasn't exactly easy to dodge, but a barrage was pretty much impossible. They hit, and they hit hard, sending him stumbling to the side before he managed to catch his balance again. "Nice shot, Luka." He turned to throw Niceven again, but his aim was off and the star spun off over her shoulder. HP: 32/40 DMG: 0 CHG: 2/3

At the praise, Luka grinned. She took a quick second to push her glasses up her nose before she was moving, sneakers squeaking beneath her feet as she notched another arrow.
"Thanks!" She chirped, letting this one loose.
