The server was glitching. The server was a mess, difficult to handle for the net navis, and unsafe, which of course meant to Wren and Code it was excellent timing to log onto the web and investigate the sourse. There had been a string of computer issues like it; systems glitching, teetering, hiccoughing, before it stopped and the virus moved on, and well... Wren wasn't phased because she knew exactly who to call in if needed, and Code just didn't fear viruses or net navis, enjoying the company of anyone, so when they spied a fork and two doors, splitting up wasn't an isdsue. They couild communicate, after all, and the pair moved down two halls. SDaid halls led to two rooms. Wren entered a room that... While it looked dark and ominous, was surprisingly tidy, even kempt, but data floated, hovering and fizzling as if unsure if it wanted to delete, and the girl peered, blinking large blue eyes. She could see a navi moving, and crossed her arms, frowning. "Who in ******** are you?" She asked, fingers toying with her navi symbol. Code entered a room in less ideal condition. It seemed as if someone had lashed out, clawing walls, at doors, and the lights survived by height -- illuminating a figure in the middle of the room in a ball of red and gold, Code's brow raising. Normally, she held back, but something seemed off, and Code lurched, moving and kneeling to check the figure over, crooning in concern. "Oh gosh, are you alright? what happened?"

Red eyes glared from a corner as the dark corners shifted, the navi within - if it was indeed a navi, and not a virus - moving without entirely becoming visible as they seemed to inspect the newcomer, before suddenly moving within range, looming over the young lady with a look that was at first hungry... then changed into confusion as he circled her slowly, long blond hair practically brushing his ankles. "You're not prey. What are you?" The lump that heard Code enter didn't move at first, but then the head lifted, and eyes that were mostly blue looked up at her in surprise - mostly blue, that is, except for pinpricks of red near the pupils. "...Go away," the navi spoke, curling tighter around himself and bowing his head. "It... isn't safe. I'm not... safe. Please? Go?" He spoke in a halting manner, sounding confused and unsure of himself even as a soft growl tried to escape him. " Please?"

Oooof course it was a virus. Wten made no move to call her cousin yet, instead standing her ground to watch idly, frowning. "Human." She drawled calmly. "Programs and Navis are a terrible meal choice. As is my family's server." Her tone was more scolding, watching warily. The virus was massive -- likely powerful really, and pissing it off was dumb, but... Her home! And Forte JUST debugged last week! "You know most viruses dion't visit to trash the place." Wren continued, but didn't move to attack, instead crossing her arns. "So what brings you by?" Code listened, but didn't leave, instead stroking the young program gently, shaking her head. "Not if something's wrong. I might be able to help. I'm a coder. Will you talk to me? I don't bite hard. Wren's the bitey one, and she took the other fork." Code explained, voice a soothing tone. She continued stroking, humming softly. "You're safe with me. Promise."

"Seeking shelter for my companion," the virus said, expression a strange mixture of affectionate and annoyed. "He wishes to be something other than he is. Can't imagine why." He purred the words as he spoke, circling Wren a few more times with a catlike sort of grace - contained, but powerful and never giving away when he might turn to strike. "Here may be the only server where such is possible." Certainly the only place that might be sympathetic to his weaker counterpart's plight. He sniffed once, twice, then leaned in close to sniff the human once more - before a tounge darted out and brushed her cheek ever so briefly. "Ugh. Definitely not prey." Meanwhile, the program with Code was drawing inward even further, even as he lifted his head with more red visible in his bright blue eyes. "I don't..." He began, then swallowed and bowed his head again, seeming to shrink into himself, growing more and more tense with every little movement. "Want to hurt.... you. Please..." Why wouldn't she just leave? It would be so much safer for her if she did! He wasn't - he wasn't something good, he couldn't be trusted, he wasn't even in as much control of himself as... as the jerk in the next room.... Couldn't she see it was too dangerous here?

"If you want a programmer, you want my father or cousin, not--" Wren was cut off when he leaned in, licking her cheek before instinct kicked in and she slaspped the virus. "Ex cuse me, I'm not foir tasting!" Wren snapped sharply. "As I was saying[, you want my cousin or Father, and my cousin is online around somewhere. And she'll probably take being licked less well." Or gush. Hard to make that call -- Code was about as fearless as her. Still, one hand stayed in a pocket, fingering her deviuce. If he tried to attackj her, she was calling in help." "Eh." Code shrugged, motioning. "I doubt you'd do much harm." Code admitted, then sat, frowning. "I'm not leaving until I know if you need help, though."

Instead of being offended by the slap, the virus made a sound not unlike a chirp, red eyes brightening as he peered at Wren with an unreadable expression. "I don't need a programmer - I'm content as I am; I'm only here to ensure the foolish child I brought with me accepts any aid that is offered. Though...." Now he smiled, a softness of emotion that looked out of place on his features. "I'm curious enough to say for a time, if there are such oddities as yourself around." The program curled up with Code gave a low moan - before exploding into motion, red completely overtaking the blue of his eyes as he launched himself at the walls, clawing at them and snarling, entirely feral. Suddenly, he noticed the figure still sitting in the room and growled, red eyes locking onto her as he slid into a predatory crouch. Thinking was hard, at the moment - he was just so hungry, he needed to feed, needed something to fill the hole in the middle of his being... maybe this person would fill it?

...Well this was an odd virus. Not unpleasant, though, and Wren motioned. "Like I said. Dad or my cousin might be able to help him." She shrugged. "And really, you can clean up, things are glitchy and Forte might try erasing you for it. But if you can FIX it he might deign to spar with you--" The noise next door snapped Wren to attention as she realized how wrong things sounded, and she listened, before her mind procce34ssed. "Oh. Oh crap my cousin found your companion I think. Tell me those sounds aren't trouble." Code could protect herself, but the woman was on her feet when the poor boy turned, acvutely aware he was studying her for something. Something was wrong andf she didn't want to go -- nor die, though, and rapidly, she drew out a handheld device, inserting two chips with practiced speed and patience. Said practice yeilded results immediately as the near-adult was enveloped by golden light, data running over her form as the program executed. While General hadn't been close, Code had prepared for such eventualities, and in this instance, she knew it best to employ it, initiating Cross Fusion rapidly. Practice was a boon as the golden net navi's data settled, and General Cross nodded patiently. "I don't think we'd make a good target, dear." The entity drawled in a patient dual-voice meshing the pair. "Trust me on this."

"That... would be because of my companion," the virus said, rolling his eyes. "He won't accept what he is and because of that he has no control over what he damages. I assure you, I choose where to wreak my havoc, and damaging a potentially-helpful party's servers is not something I would choose." Yes, he was a virus, but he was practical. Why not choose what he damaged, selecting only the deserving? It was a way to embrace what he was without causing trouble that would get him destroyed. If only that foolish idiot he'd brought with him could understand that... The sudden crossfusion drew a startled noise from the feral program, and wild red eyes looked between the figure and the exit, starting to pace anxiously. Hungry, he was so hungry, there was a hole eating away in him and he needed to fill it but the target wasn't a target any more, they were a threat, and- he needed out. He needed out. So he sniffed and turned his back on the stranger, returning to the process of throwing himself against the walls and clawing at them, wearing away at the defenses keeping him in through sheer persistence and desperate need.

"...We gotta slowq him down then." Wren groaned, grabbing the virus' hand to pull him along. She wasn't affronted by what he was -- he was intelligent, reminding her of the stardroid responsible for the Neko virus, and she moved for the other room deftly. If he could damage the server this much, General-Cross might be in danger. But they weren't, and the cross fused figure observed, both minds analyzing the virus. He'd turned scared, and based oin a scan, something was wrong - his data was damaged and... Code could fix it out of the server, but he needed calm. And calm, General could mansage, the golden navi taking command of their body to approach, gently drawing the virus to them, and held them close, rocking them as if a small nt navi soothjingly. "There there..." The male voice dominated, General humming a lullaby. "It's safe, we don't trult wish your termination." And about then Wren entered and stopped, blinking at General-Cross before a brow raised, but she didn't draw too close. The other virus was off, and so far, the cross fusion seemed to have iut in hand.

"At least he didn't escape this time," grumbled the virus that was accompanying Wren, folding his arms over his chest as he watched the impromptu hug-it-out session. He sounded bored, and maybe a little irritated, but underneath it both was an odd sort of... pleasure? He definitely didn't seem all that bothered by his companion's situation... And in truth, he was far more interested in observing the little human who had tugged him here with her. Unafraid, polite, and overall willing to treat with him. It was unique ... and rather nice when compared to the hostility he had been met with elsewhere. The feral virus fought the confining arms for a long moment, clawing and biting with everything he had until his already-frail reserves drained near to nothing and he drooped in the hug, eyes half-closing even as they faded back to blue. Once the color had solidified, with no more red to be seen, he jolted upright and moaned, trying to pull away so he could huddle in on himself again. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'll control it better I swear I'm sorry!"

Wren relaxed as the Cross disappeared, Code beaming. "It's alright. That's why I used crossfusion. You're okay." Code crooked, and smiled. "You look to be missing code-- can I help? I program things all the time." "Yes, and you can both stay if you wish." Wren added, tone soothing. "Your companion said you needed help and refuge. You're welcome and obviously Code thinks she can help you. That said, are you based on Navi data?"

"Missing...code?" The blue-eyed blond echoed, then winced. "O-oh. Yeah. That's..." He swallowed and waved a hand at the virus. "That's him. We... split apart. I don't - didn't - don't want to..." he trailed off, leaving the implied 'I don't want to be like this' hanging unsaid in the air. After all, it was obvious by now. The virus, meanwhile, scoffed and rolled his eyes. "There are worse things to be than what you were made. As for our shared history..." He frowned, then shrugged. "Neither of us know. We were designed, but any knowledge of our creator was wiped long ago."

"I can help repair both of you if you like." Code said, nodding then. "Because if he tore from you, he must be missing data as well. It would finalize a cut, but then you can be more stable." The black haired woman nodded, as if it were already decided, but beamed, offering both hands as Wren nodded in consideration. "Hey, if you use Navi-based coding, then he'd be way happier to be a net navi. Especially if he's destablized... He must be the one with less data." Code nodded. "Oh course, no tear is perfect. And if he wants to be a navi, I could use that type of coding pourely and leave what's left alone for some onboard self protection." Then Code pointed to Omega, posture sharpening. "You newed to register as a net navi, though, or actual net navis or more will try deleting you and your quality of life will go down. I won't remove most capabilities, since you value strength, but I would need to modify and add enough for the definition to stick. That being said I can keep it as the present aesthetic and note I was bored and wanted to experiment with data I found online. Is that acceptable?"

The blue-eyed version nodded, seeming to shrink in on himself even more. "...Please? I remember...." There had been someone - someone nice, once, but navi or human he didn't know, just that there had been someone nice and warm and so sweet, had been kind to him and made him want to be better, to be Other, and... Well, he didn't think ripping yourself apart was supposed to make two of you, but that's how it had worked. The virus-side nodded, rolling his eyes. "Yes, yes, whatever you need to do... and I'll gladly let you use my talents against anyone deserving the destruction I bring."

"Of course.": Code moved, holding the smaller navi in a comforting (she hoped) embrace, and began to hum, rubbing his side. "You're a good person. I can fix it. I promise you'll heal, sweetie." Wren raised a brow at Omega, then, and smirked. "I know someone you might get along with. You have heard of Forte.EXE yes? I can put you in contact. He loves a good challenge."
