The tablets, as much as Wolfeite despised most forms of communication that were not direct speaking, were useful in that he could contact those that he'd recruited and tell them to meet him in Negaspace - which he did, since they clearly couldn't teleport in and out of the Rift.

He was waiting for them, in the Hall of Shadows. The message had been clipped and succinct.

Meet me tonight. Training. Hall of Shadows.

A summons was nothing new for Aue. For training, to be pumped for information, to be given direction. Business as usual. A summons to the Hall of Shadows, however, was not.

Mostly because the Hall of Shadows was impossible for senshi to traverse without escort. It was dangerous and Wolfeite knew that, though whether or not it had crossed his general's brain in a more solid manner than 'this is what I want to happen, so it will happen' was entirely up for debate. Generally, the practicality of something seemed to be left to Aue to figure out, at least...on the senshi side. It made sense, in some weird way - Wolfeite was an officer and had no practical experience or understanding outside of being an officer.

Still.

Aue and Kamacite came up to the entrance to the Hall of Shadows; the other corrupt immediately made to enter as though he had no concern for his life - which, considering things, he likely didn't - but Aue stopped him. "No." There was a moment of confusion, but Kamacite stood obediently, waiting.

"Our General has graciously offered us escort through a dangerous space, we'll wait here, for him." Aue was not setting one blessed foot into that hellscape without Wolfeite at his side, he wasn't stupid - or suicidal. And Wolfeite was all the way down at the far end of the Hall, by the door to the Rift. Of course he was.

Do you think of nothing you careless cur? Aue calmly took his communicator out so that he could contact the errant doggo.

"General Wolfeite, Aue and Kamacite reporting. If you would be so kind as to escort us down the Hall as you'd offered, it would be most appreciated."

The revelation that Wolfeite had offered escort to them had Kamacite frowning in confusion. This was the first that he’d heard of such an offer. He’d been preparing himself for entering the hall without an escort, but was more than relieved to hear Aue tell him to stop.

It wasn’t as though he didn’t have concern for his life! He did. But if this was what his General ordered, then this was what he wanted. And Kamacite had already resigned himself to the fact that if Wolfeite didn’t want him killed, then he wouldn’t be killed. But if this was how he was meant to die, then all he could do was follow orders.

As Aue pulled out his communicator, Kamacite quickly took several steps back from the door, the sound of youma inside howling and fighting. He wrung his wrists as he waited, his heart set on overdrive ever since the order came. The only reprieve he had was that Aue was there, too. It helped him relax just a little. The concept of having someone watching his back, and him watching theirs in turn, was still new to him but not unwelcome.

Kamacite was well aware that Wolfeite lived in the Rift, but why they couldn’t train in normal Negaspace was beyond him. But… Wolfeite was his General, and he would do as he was told.

Vanadinite really, really needed to reach Captain stage. While she was perfectly content to meet with her commanding General and the rest of the people under his charge... It was embarrassing to have to have Wolfeite bring her himself to his location of choice. Her feelings of inadequacy were quickly pushed aside however, and replaced by excitement at the prospects of getting some actual training and direction. That was the goal, and that was what she was focused on.

Standing at his side in the Hall of Shadows, she stood with her arms behind her back, her right wrists clasped by her left hand. The sound of youma echoed through the Rift door behind her, almost as a lure to get her to venture into the depths of the darkness- but now was not the time. She briefly heard voices over her communicator, and she glanced at Wolfeite at her side.

She would wait not-so-patiently for his orders- whether that was to wait where she was or go hold her comrades hands through the Hall of Shadows so Wolfeite didn't have to do it himself. Whichever.

Wolfeite did indeed know that the Rift was inaccessible without an escort if one was a lower ranked senshi of lieutenant; and he knew as well that the Hall of Shadows was the same way. Whether or not he actually cared about this was an entirely different story, because frankly, he didn't. Either they would make it down to where he had requested, or they wouldn't.

Vanadinite had come with him; she was a lieutenant, and therefore could not teleport on her own, which had made at least her appearance an easy one. The other two were senshi - and therefore would require more observation to make sure that none of the youma picked them off while they were in the Rift. Wolfeite was entirely confident in his own abilities, but he had - somewhat grudgingly - asked Tourmaline along as well.

He did not, however, appreciate Aue's ******** stubbornness.

Wolfeite ground his teeth together, one ear flicking. "This way," he growled to Vanadinite, and led the way back along the hall towards the front entrance, rather than deeper and through the doors. It was mostly empty at this time of day, although there were a few Negaverse agents milling idly about, going to and from their business. Wolfeite paid none of them any heed.

He found Kamacite and Aue precisely where he didn't want them, Wolfeite's face entirely visible, the mask tangled around his neck as he came to a stop with Vanadinite beside him, golden eyes narrowed.

"Get in here," Wolfeite snarled. "Both of you."

General Tourmaline had accepted General Wolfeite's gracious invitation and would have arrived sooner had she not made a stop to pick up a troublemaker of her own. She would have brought both Lieutenant Cornetite and his mouthy friend but Lieutenant Fancy Pants wasn't entirely hers and until he'd been better trained she wasn't willing to risk the embarrassment. Even more so as she really had no idea what to expect from Wolfe and his crew.

"Stay close to me, Lieutenant. The Hall of Shadows is strange to say the least and you do not want to wind up wandering the rift unattended at your current rank." Given his temperament and vague curiosity, she was certain he would find himself spending enough time in this underworld in the days to come... Later, certainly, but not now.

She and her charge approached just in time to hear General Wolfeite snarling. Her own hackles rose and she nearly snarled right back at him, sorely tempted to offer him a reminder that she had been extended an invitation, not a command... But he wasn't talking to her and hers. He was talking to his. Senshi. Two of them; one familiar and one not.

"Wonderful. It seems as though we're just in time, Lieutenant." General Tourmaline stepped up with a broad grin on her lips, ignoring the blazingly blue haired man she'd brought along with her in favor of stepping up next to Aue, slipping her arm through his before looking to the golden eyed General. "Shall we show the children what lurks in the Hall of Shadows? You know I'd never miss this tour, General."

Dear god, what had he gotten himself into? One minute he'd been minding his own ******** business and the next his strange pen had started making noises to let him know that he was being summoned. He'd nearly finished his set project and a break was probably long overdue so he'd taken the 'call' least he find himself with an annoyance on top of a distraction.

He seemed stern and silent as he'd followed her through the hall, taller than his General by enough that he felt more like a body guard or brute than a Lieutenant. He supposed that was one of the reasons why he had been chosen... Of course, as he saw her step up next to the black and gold senshi that thought was only confirmed. Must have a thing for muscle.

Resisting the urge to roll his eyes he clasped one hand around his wrist behind his back, waiting to follow suit behind the others if introductions weren't to be immediately made. From his understanding he was here to observe-- he could do that. He supposed.

Aue had as much internal care for his General's poor temper as his General showed for his stubborn nature; granted, he didn't make a show of it, that wouldn't be acceptable. Wolfeite was a General and would be accorded respect as per his rank - but that didn't mean the Finn wouldn't keep up a lovely stream of invective internally cursing him and all of his line for thousands of years. He was just very, very good at looking completely nonplussed and showing no emotion outwardly.

He watched as the two distant shapes returned, noting that the line of Wolfeite's ears at tail spoke of irritation more than usual. Think before you do something like this next time and you won't have to back-track, you wretch.

Aue was unflinching under the scathing golden glare, "General." He tilted his head to Vanadinite, then spoke over his shoulder to Kamacite, "Stay close to my side--" And then, Tourmaline was there, voice like warm silk, sliding her arm into his like it had always belonged there. "Tourmaline." She'd brought one of the others too, though he'd not met him yet. Very well.

With Tourmaline on one side and Kamacite on the other, Aue stepped into the Hall of Shadows as his General had bade him, storm grey eyes as full of promise and threat as they ever were.

If Kamacite had any choice, he would have avoided doing this at all and would have been at home, hiding under some blankets. The thought of going into the Hall of Shadows or even the Rift to train was, well, terrifying. There was no way he could keep his wits about him long enough to put in a decent fight.

In fact, when Wolfeite appeared, a Lieutenant with him, Kamacite still jumped at the sound of his snarl, and jumped again at the sound of the other General who approached.

Two Generals, two lieutenants, and two Negaverse senshi. Kamacite kept his head down as the woman greeted Aue, the hair and color of her uniform meaning she must be the General Tourmaline that he’d been told about. He’d never met her before, or the other lieutenants, but he was pretty confident he knew who she was.

And Aue’s greeting proved it. Kamacite glanced from the Lieutenant who’d come with Tourmaline, to the one by Wolfeite’s side as he stepped closer to follow Aue into the Hall of Shadows.

How he was going to survive this without his heart giving out, he didn’t know. It was already beating stupidly fast in his chest.

Her head nodded when her General told her to follow him- back up the hallway and to the entrance to meet with two others. Both Corrupt Senshi, Vanadinite noted as she quickly glanced over who must be the others under Wolfeite's charge. Soon after, a second General and a Lieutenant joined the group, the first of which seemed to know one of the Senshi rather well. Clear that there was no time (or need) for introductions, the fuchsia-haired Lieutenant returned the Senshi's nod before offering the nervous-looking one the very slightest of smiles when they made eye contact.

This was going to be one interesting training session, Vanadinite mused to herself as they began to make their way down the Hall of Shadows.

As one of the lower-ranked in the group, Vanadinite easily fell in line with the blue-haired Lieutenant that had joined them. Her eyes glanced up at him for a brief moment before settling back upon the group that walked in front of them.

Aue was, of course, unfazed, which was all the more aggravating. Not only that, but for reasons unknown to Wolfeite, he seemed to have taken a personal interest in Kamacite's well-being, which was somehow grating on Wolfeite's nerves, mostly because it implied Wolfeite wasn't capable of handling his own recruits.

He was not going to get into that now. The damned lemon senshi knew his views on things, and he would be dealt with later, at a more appropriate time, and not now. The rest of them were all here now - Vanadinite, Kamacite, Aue, Tourmaline, and the new lieutenant of her own that she'd brought along with her.

Wolfeite threw her a dark look, lips drawing back into a faint growl with just the barest effort at resisting rolling his eyes at her.

Back down the Hall of Shadows, back along the pathway that would lead into the Rift. With two generals accompanying them, there would be much less need to worry (not that Wolfeite ever worried) about the senshi they were bringing along. Wolfeite waited until they had all gone ahead of him before he slipped in after, into the welcoming darkness of the Rift.

It was a haze of purple and black, of muted growls and distant screeches from the youma. Wolfeite led them along a well remembered walk towards a small, open area set between a series of craggy, jagged rocks that made it seem almost like a small arena. It was here that he stopped, then turned around to face them all.

"For those of you who are new," he said - and here, Aue received a golden eyed glare, just because - " - General Tourmaline - " Wolfeite nodded to her. "Corrupted Sailor Aue - " Another nod, this time at the lemons one. " - Corrupted Super Sailor Kamacite - " To the dark haired one. " - and Lieutenant Vanadinite - " To the last one, who's vibrant hair almost matched Tourmaline's in color. "You are all my recruits, and it's about time that you learned to behave as such."

His gaze slid over to Tourmaline's lieutenant.

"You're free to watch, but I don't care for spectators who are capable of participating as well, if your General deems it so."

Tourmaline received a silken, sickly sweet smile that was more of a snarl with lots of sharp teeth.

Tourmaline feigned boredom as they passed through the Hall of Shadows, although Aue would be able to pick up on her unease in the way her fingers pressed against his arm. Even with the power granted to her as a General of the Negaverse there were some places that were bound to make ones skin crawl when you didn't belong. She was certain the only one who would truly feel at home this far down would be the golden eyed wolf General himself.

As they paused for introductions she brought her other hand up, lightly trailing fingers along Aue's forearm. He was too well trained to let something like that distract him. With the mood Wolfeite was in the idle gesture was bound to at least catch his attention.

"Super Sailor Aue. Don't forget our furry feline friend made sure that this version of Aue got all of the upgrades necessary to make him a fine specimen and a wonderful addition to our happy Negaverse family." Her grin was just as broad and bright as the wolf's smile was sweetness laced with snarling poison. You invited me here, it seemed to say.

"Lieutenant Cornetite is more than capable of joining in on whatever you have planned for your team. I would hate for you to think I'd brought someone who wasn't prepared to learn along with me."

He offered a small smile to the other Lieutenant who'd fallen in line alongside him. Their position bringing up the rear seemed to be the safest of all until it was taken into account that the red and black General was now following behind them. Wonderful.

He thought to ask if the woman beside him knew what they were in for, but he didn't want to ask. There didn't seem to be any room for distraction as they made it through the hall aptly named 'Of Shadows'. It was like something out of a horror movie; wonderful and terrible, singing to a part of him and threatening to draw him in to misery.

On the other side it was worse. His eyes took a moment to adjust to the sight and his ears would never stop hearing the sounds of youma; creatures he'd been told of, but had not yet been introduced to. As if taking all of that in wasn't enough, he heard his name. General Tourmaline was speaking for him. <********>.

"It's as she says. I am up to the challenge." Reluctantly. Not as if he had a choice with the leverage she had on him.

Aue followed obediently down the Hall and said nothing as he preceded the others into the Rift; he was busy reading the 'room' as it were - Tourmaline's unease and baiting of Wolfeite, the half-youma's irritation and baiting of him. Kamacite's nervousness and fear, Vanadinite's uncertainty but willingness to serve and be part of something. Cornetite's wont to prove himself. It was all so very interesting, bits of information to be filed away and added to as more came along.

The fine hairs at the nape of Aue's neck rose; the Rift was not a place where any senshi should be. He could feel the weight of Kamacite's robes pressing against his more fitted costume, as the other corrupt drew closer - not trusting the crystalline hellscape they found themselves in for introductions and whatever training Wolfeite had deemed appropriate. The barb of announcing him as simply sailor Aue, as opposed to granting the recently upgraded title as with Kamacite did not go unnoticed, though Tourmaline flashed her fangs and interjected on his behalf. You really are asking for it, aren't you Koira? Very well, we will see that you receive precisely what you deserve.

Aue simply nodded to Vanadinite and Cornetite in acknowledgement before returning his attention to the two Generals. "What is the pleasure of our General, today?" They may have looked as though a cat-dog fight was about to break out, but Tourmaline and Wolfeite often interacted in such a manner, they grated each other badly...which was interesting as it was his understanding that they hunted very well together.

"Two senshi, two officers. In which manner would you like us to spar, Sir?"

Kamacite hated the Rift.

More importantly, he hated the Rift when there were others there, and not just Wolfeite.

Wolfeite knew what the Rift did to him. He knew that it terrified Kamacite, just as much as Wolfeite himself terrified the corrupt. The howling of youma, the heavy haze that felt like it was crushing him, the colors warped and turned dark and purple.

When it was just Wolfeite, Kamacite at least knew that if the youma were going to eat him, then it was because that’s what his General wanted to happen. Wolfeite had seen him panic before, had stepped forward to block out the light to try and bring him back to focus. He knew it wasn’t for his sake, because Wolfeite didn’t care about him like that, but as an investment…

Here, he was being put to the test. He was being introduced to another General and two other Lieutenants, and he felt as though his heart was going to break with how quickly it was beating.

He’d stepped closer to Aue, after jumping from the growling of a nearby youma, but he wondered if maybe he shouldn’t be standing so close. General Tourmaline was walking beside Aue as well, although much more comfortably and familiar with him, and Kamacite didn’t want to look like he was as much of a coward as he probably was.

But he couldn’t will himself to step away from standing beside Aue as everyone was introduced. He heard the names, but his eyes were squeezed shut, face drained of color, and hands clutching at the robes over his chest as he worked on reminding himself how to breathe.

The senshi were, of course, the least safe in the Rift, but Wolfeite had no care for that. They were a part of the team he had put together; they were underneath his watchful eye, and it was not acceptable to think that they could not enter this place simply because they might be frightened. He was not the sort of general who allowed for pathetic reasons such as that to dominate one's person.

Tourmaline received a narrow eyed glare for her intervention, Wolfeite's gaze flickering first from the other general, to the damned lemon senshi. He knew perfectly well what Aue's rank was, but that didn't mean that he was going to play nicely when he had no reason to. This was in public; that meant that it was his territory, and they both knew it.

The tension sparked between himself and Tourmaline, almost a physical thing full of saccharine sweet smiles and sharp, snarling teeth. Wolfeite let it go, for once, since there were more important things at hand here than a spitting match with another general.

He gave Cornetite a brief flicker of a gaze, then Aue again, then Vanadite, and then lastly, Kamacite, knowing perfectly well just how little Kamacite liked it in here. But he would never learn to be one of the Pack if he was just going to shy away from a possibility of danger at every twist and turn; and besides, he'd gotten this far. There was potential in him, in them all.

Wolfeite felt the satisfaction of it running thick through his veins, the adrenaline, the hunger. His ears were still pointed up and alert on the top of his head, tail slowly moving behind him, the thrill of a hunt, of a fight burning through his body.

"Senshi against Lieutenant," he said. A hand reached out and latched around Kamacite's wrist, pulling his hand away from his robes in a gesture that seemed too familiar to be anything but a normal occurrence. "Kamacite will fight Cornetite. And Aue will fight Vanadinite. Tourmaline and I will watch and observe. Use whatever means possible."

Senshi against Lieutenant. That was a decision that Tourmaline agreed with and she nodded her agreement, regretting it only seconds later as Wolfeite divided them up into their sparring pairs. Her lips pressed into a thin line that she was certain the Senshi of Lemons would catch. He was observant and, out of all present, likely knew the woman beneath the charcoal black and tourmaline pink the best.

The expression shift was brief, only the lightest tick of irritation that she wouldn't get to see her own recruit-- a man that she would have placed more on par physically with Aue-- go against the sour brunette. Knowing how she herself fought, she was certain that Vanadinite would at least give Aue a run for it, but...

Christ, she didn't want Cornetite to crush the trembling senshi that had been introduced as Kamacite, but...

But.

In the world they had been brought into there was no holding back, and she would instruct her Lieutenant to do no such thing. Wolfeite knew that. His own recruits would know that... Cornetite would have a very important lesson to learn out of going against someone she knew he would immediately view as delicate, and thus less of a threat.

Alright, Wolfe....

-------

He had mentally prepared himself for a throttling by the Senshi of Lemons. Hell, he'd even been ready to make himself fight with a girl. With the colors of Vanadinite's uniform he could have easly pretended that he was taking a shot at General Tourmaline-- even that would have been preferable to fighting against the senshi who seemed like he might vomit on someone's shoes from nerves any second.

Cornetite took a deep breath as he summoned his weapon to his hands, adjusting his grip to shift the weight of the softly glowing blue poi. They weren't as heavy as the ones he used while spinning fire-- practice poi really weren't an ideal weapon-- but he supposed that something was better than nothing.

"Whatever means possible. Right. Hope you've got something other than trembling hands up those sleeves, kid," he muttered beneath his breath, eyes narrowing in the direction of the senshi that he wouldn't have put as being any older than sixteen-- certainly no older than nineteen, in the vain hope that these whackjobs wouldn't have brought someone so young to a place like this.
