A Wanderer’s Heart

It had became clear to her shortly after setting out she had been ill prepared and still needed time to recover. What she had thought would be a few days of rest had turned into a few weeks as once her adrenaline had worn down she had discovered she had been a little more injured than she had previously thought. While on this ‘downtime’ she discovered she had a knack for for herbology though. It wasn’t something she had every really paid much attention to before but after some trial and error she had gotten a fair good understanding of what herbs did what and which were best for certain ailments.

Her main concern had been one of her wings. It had been heavily bruised in the avalanche and had given her great worry. She had thought perhaps it had been broken but after some much painful poking and proding she was pleased to find it was just banged up. She had fashioned a leather nap sack from an animal hide and had placed her armor in it. She had found she wasn’t going to need it since she couldn’t exactly fly right now. Plus the weight of it had been an annoyance while she was healing.

She had been overly pleased to see that her armor hadn’t been too damaged by the rocks, if anything one of the Flocks artists would be able to bang it back into shape once she located them. Whenever that might be though. She glanced towards the sky and wondered if her brother was looking for her or if he had given up hope. She was pretty sure they all thought her dead, she had thought she was dead for a brief moment of time there.

A sound caused her to look back towards the earth though. “Who is there?” She called out in a firm voice. Despite her injuries she was still very much a fighter and could still hold her own. She had removed all of her plating except for the sharpened metal upon her left claw. She dug it into the earth as she waited for whoever it was to appear or respond back.

As the mare came into view she relaxed. She was no threat to her at all so she felt no need to be on alert any longer. "So I see." Her words were light and she have herself a shake to release some of the tension her body had started to build as she had been waiting to look upon who had been approaching.

"What may I call you by?" It was good to know who you were talking to right? She nudged a few of her belongings around with her muzzle and then turned her attention back to her. "You can call me Athena."

Shifting her wings she peered at the mare for a moment and then gave a small snort. She seemed truthful enough and Athena believed herself to be a rather good judge of character. She prayed her instincts didn't fail her now. Besides, the mare would be easy enough to overpower should she try to attack her for some reason. That was if she was alone, she hadn't scented anyone else with her so it was highly likely the mare was just a passerby, though she wasn't sure she could be too careful.

"Not currently Liliana." She said the name to help imprint it to memory. "What brings you this way aside from traveling?" She figured by the question she had just been asked that the mare wasn't from the area, that still didn't solve if she was alone. Slowly shifting her wings against her side she wondered if shrinking at some point might speed up her healing process. Smaller body equals quicker healing time right? She'd have to give it a try later.

"Is it just you? Not that I have anything against traveling by one's self." Gesturing towards her own form as a case in point sort of thing.

The clawed female took a sideways glance back towards her belongings, she was sure those would become a topic of conversation sooner or later but she was going to let that wait till later. While it was clear to her this female didn't come off as a threat, she wasn't really wanting to get into the details of her travels just yet.
