Since the fight with Laby, Regan had not reached out to who she knew of the wolf pack or of the man himself. She knew, that Dia had told her, that Chase was fighting back things. That in the rift something had broken and reformed and caused him to be violent, even to the candy senshi herself. Even as she sat in her kitchen now, the attempts of eating a sandwich wasted and pushed away.
And it was selfish and stupid to think that Regan was anymore special then the candy senshi herself, that Laby would treat her with more care. With more thought. With more....anything. That she wouldn't be hurt because she was his little star and He was everything to her. It made her realize that she had been spoiled. Pampered perhaps? Was that the word she was? She was a pampered wolf under him. The weakest probably of all the wolves. A wolf that didn't know how to hunt without others and could barely walk on its on legs.
Every part of her body sung with rejection. To cast out the whole side of Chase and Laby she had been accustomed too. What good would Adamantine be if she wasn't able to keep herself protected? Her name was for the fictional metal that was the strongest metal in the universe, so why couldn't she live up to it? Why did she crumble underneath one blow from the Alpha? Because it hurt. It reminded her of Paul and Chase was no Paul. Chase would ever be a Paul. But there Paul was, reminding her that he would never leave her. That he'd be the firm remainder of what she was.
Perhaps this was meant to be? She wasn't known for getting attached to people or creatures. She couldn't afford too, and this was a good example of why. She was weak. So very weak.
She didn't deserve to be a wolf anymore.

Chase had waited to try and approach Regan after the incident.
He spent a long while debating how best to handle the aftermath of his disastrous mistake and had yet to come to a conclusion. But, he could be an impatient man and he worried that if he let it sit too long without doing something the rift would increase and there would be no salvaging. So he waited and then, when he thought it apt, he arrived at the apartment over the garage that he knew she had returned to.
Someone had let him in and he had climbed the stairs slowly and quietly.
At the door he paused, knuckles raised and ready to rap against the wooden door. Doubt, something he was unaccustomed to, bubbled to the surface and he found that he was second-guessing his actions. One inhale and exhale later, Chase forced himself to knock.
It would be now or never.

Regan hadn't expected anyone, but just because she hadn't, didn't mean her uncle didn't randomly come to check in on her now that she was back with him. He was always bringing her food and something to decorate the interior of the old apartment and she didn't mind it.
Probably because of Chase, she was a little more open to her uncles continued attempts to treat her like his own daughter.
But he was literally here just an hour ago, so why would he come back. She went over to the door and open it, prepared to tell the man he'd only get one visit a day if he kept this up and froze.
Blood drained from her already pale-ish features and she went a bit slack, staring at the civilian form of her general. Chase was here, in front of her door. Her eyes glazed, "N...No!" and then the door slammed in his face and he would ever lock on the piece of wood be put in place.
Her heart racing, she leaned back against the door and fell to the ground. He'd probably just teleport in, and that would be the end anyways, so what good was locking all the doors?
But Chase wasn't always Laby and Chase still might have more of himself then the general did and so she could only hope that he wasn't here to finish what he started those nights ago.

Waiting outside was uncomfortable.
Chase had thought of summoning her into Negaspace, but hadn't wanted to risk what little control he seemed to have these days slipping and further wedging a knife between them. No, this was a matter to be resolved as civilians. As Chase and Regan instead of the alpha and his wolf pup. So he waited, only pushing off the wall he rested against when the door open.
His mouth was half open, something akin to an apology on the tip of his tongue when the door slammed in his face and he recognized the fear in her voice.
Slowly, his mouth closed as did his eyes. His body shifted, one hand attempting to knock again and the other resting against it so he could press his forehead against his flesh. "Regan," he said, voice strained and tired. "Please, you don't have to open the door, but we need to talk."
He could only hope that she'd be willing. It had been difficult enough in the beginning, when they'd first met and she had only been his mechanic and now-- when he had become a living shadow, a reminder of what they'd sought to free her from...He knew that he would be lucky for even the talk.

Since the teleporting general did not appear before her in the house, the woman thought to make quickly away herself. She could escape a window as Adamantine, since the pain wouldn't hurt if she fell. The only problem would being her senshi instigate the general and would his wolf come to hunt her again.
She could hear his strained voice through the door, her heart racing. He sounded tired, and she wondered if it was because he was trying so hard to keep the beast at bay. Dia had told her, that the struggle with the man was intense.
"I-" Her voice shook in response, "What do...What do you want Chase?" She didn't unlock the door or even open it, but she was willing to at least.....try to listen.

He waited.
Waiting was something he was growing more and more accustomed to and it was irritating. While Chase was a man willing to work for the things he had, because there was a satisfaction in earning and not expecting things to be handed to you, the things he was forced to wait on were things outside of his control.
Legal dealings when it came to his inheritance and the money he'd had before he'd vanished. Or waiting for Regan to feel comfortable, safe enough to talk to him. Or searching for the people who'd once been part of his life only to realize there was a chasm separating them that he didn't know if he could make the jump over to reach them.
It was pesky, aggravating, but he had to deal and perhaps that was the most annoying thing about it.
Finally Regan's quiet voice could be heard, hidden and muffled by the door that separated them.
"I just want to talk. I--" He swallowed, jaw ticking because apologies were not something he was accustomed to giving. "I knew seeing you would be bad, but I let you come to me anyway. I'm sorry." The thump of his fist could be heard when he bumped it against the door. "I'm...I'm struggling with things right now, but I'm working on it."
He paused, eyes closing to give himself a moment to collect his thoughts. "I'm not asking for forgiveness," he stated. He didn't deserve it. "I'm asking for some time. Alright?"

Regan couldn't help but be quiet while Chase spoke. He still didn't sound like himself and she needed to accept that right now, he wasn't the Chase she trusted so easily. She needed to remember that he was not well, and that he was clever and smart. This could be a trap.
Distrust clouded and sank into the girl's body, seeping from the mind to the body and slowly into her soul. Slowly enough though, that while her body and mind tried to reject him, her soul was still holding on.
He was asking for time, time to adjust himself? Overcome himself? Time was suppose to heal all and wasn't it time that took them to become as they were once a upon a time? The frustration with having to start over was there, but Regan wasn't sure she was ready to start over either. She wanted to flee. Hide.
She was not strong enough to handle the blows again.
"You...." Her voice was still quiet, and she spoke this time with a bit more sterness then she ever had with the man. "hurt me."
She didn't know if he could understand how much she said in those words. She was hurt because he had left, she was hurt because when he came back, he didn't even recognize her and if he did, it was to actually try and kill her. She was hurt because she was weak and couldn't stand up to him like Dia. She was willing to give him time if he just spoke the truth to her. If he could take that of his on initiative.
"Do you....." she swallowed, "want to kill me?"

Regan had never been much of a talker, that had always been Chase's role in their relationship. When he wanted to be, the man was incredibly charming and charismatic even, and for the most part conversations weren't difficult unless he was shutting someone out. But the quietness from the young woman was almost unnerving.
Still, he couldn't blame her.
"I did," he replied somberly. "I can't take it back and I can't promise it won't happen again." Chase wished that he could because it would mean this his were safe around him when they currently weren't. He hadn't expect to have to work so hard to reestablish relationships but it appeared that even though he served his sentence, he hadn't finished being punished.
"I..." He stopped, heaving a heavy sigh as his body sagged against the wall he stood against. "It's complicated." He didn't know how to explain it otherwise and as a man who rarely lacked the words he needed, it was increasingly frustrating. "I have discovered that there are side effects from my time away," he started slowly, picking at the hem of the jacket he'd worn. "I, myself, do not want to, but there are these urges and impulses I'm struggling to control that do."

He was being honest with her, she'd like to think. He was telling her it would happen again and that was something. A warning. More then she had gotten when she had first found him in the night.
"Dia told me some." She breathed out, "of when you were gone." The words were just that and then he would hear the door crack only a little bit, the small bit of white/blue hair and a wary gaze looking up at him.
"I'm scared of you." Regan wasn't one to admit those kind of things. The very statement reminded her of the early days of Paul, when he would hit her and apologize for it. He'd blame her mother, the alcohol, himself.
Eventually....he stopped apologizing.
"I'm tired of being hurt Chase." A small tear trickled down, and she quickly brushed it aside. "I'm not strong enough to keep you from killing me." and she wasn't sure that if he tried, she would bother to stop him.

"She was there when I came back," he explained, even if it was unnecessary. He had called Dia because he had trusted the cotton candy haired girl to wait for him and she had been the first one he could think of when it boiled down to the heat of the moment. There had been no need to call for more than one, unless she hadn't responded, because it had been for his exit when he'd been too beaten down to get back on his feet.
"Dia was also there," he paused to exhale slowly, eyes closed when his chin tipped upward. "When I first discovered The Problem." There was no other way to describe it. It was The Problem, one that would take an incredible amount of work to fix but he didn't know how to go about it yet. "It was my first attempt at going back out after recovery."
He had spent weeks, months even in a state of slowly reminding his body what it meant to eat and sleep and to work without running on fumes.
"We powered up and I snapped, more violently than I had with you." He had made some progress but it seemed to regress with the incident involving Adamantine. On his side of the door a soft exhale could be heard. "That's not the point, or why I'm here, I'm here for us."
His eyes opened and his head dropped, fingers sliding through his pink and black locks.
"I know and...I hate saying this but you should be. I'm not...I'm not in a good place and to be comfortable around me is a bad idea." Chase wished that wasn't how it was, but it was out of his control. "You need to understand that you are not at fault." He played with his hands as he tried to think of how to continue. "I can't offer much right now but Silk and I have been looking into how to unlock your next level. If you want it." Thumbs ran over each other.
"It's not a solution, or even a band-aid for the problem, but it'll help."

Regan wasn't sure what to say. She had never exprienced the want or need to keep someone in her life. She certainly never wanted or needed her father, as the man made her life hell, nor did she want or need her Uncle in her life as well.
"You said you wouldn't hurt me Chase." She shook her head, "Your problem, What happened, What has happened and what will. You promised me." She didn't know what to say since she was unbelievably hurt that no matter where she went and no matter with who, she was destined never to be happy or comfortable. "And I told you that being around me was not a good idea either. This is the first of many things we have lied to each other about. I would like us to be more honest." The door opened a bit more and small hand reached over to take Chase's even though she was terrified of the rejection that was soon to come. "I am not strong like you Chase. Sometimes...not mentally, or emotionally or physically. But I am trying to be." And that meant dealing walls against the only man...no the only person that she would ever allow near her heart or herself in general.
He would snap but she just needed ONE touch to remember that Chase had promised those things. This problem he was facing, he wouldn't be facing alone though. Dia was able to help him and stay with him, So Adamantine would too.
"If that is what you think would help." Regan quickly took her hand back, blue eyes gazing over him. "It will not stop you from killing me, but I suppose, that it will slow it down." She tilted her head, "If not for you, I would've been dead long before anyways."
In that statement alone, had made the corrupt stardust senshi realize that in the end, if it had not been for Chase, she would not be here. So she would not abandon him because of her own insecurities.
It was a weak resolve and she would waver, but it was all she had now.

While she talked, Chase remained quiet. From time to time he would shift uncomfortably, hands slipping into his pockets and then back out to cross over his arms and create wrinkles in the sleeves of the jacket he was wearing.
At several points, he thought of interjecting, but he didn't. Instead, he remained silent and mulled over what he could say verses what he would say.
He thought about asking if it was a lie if he had believed it to be the truth at the time. He thought about vocalizing that not all things were in his control regardless of how he presented it. In the end, Chase said nether.
"Strength is subjective," was what he settled on in the end. His voice was hoarse as he spoke, another sigh leaving him. "We can only strive to do better than before Regan." Maybe it would work for them, maybe it wouldn't but if they didn't at least try then they already failed.
"I'll have to check in with Silk, to see if he's finished securing the necessities. Then, we'll move forward and hope to be stronger for it."
They had suffered, but they would be stronger for it...eventually.

It was going to be a long road ahead, but Regan was going to try.
"I see." She nodded and then looked down. "I will do my best for you general." and that was all she had left to say.
Once she was powered again, she would see. If Chase...no If Laby could work with that, then she was okay with it. She was okay with making it work.
She'd be okay for fighting to stay in the pack.
For now, she just wanted to be alone to think. "I'll stay here for now." She offered, as a way for him to know where she was and to let him know that she had no plans to invade his space or force her presence in the house. Nuxaz We can probably wrap soon!

Things hadn't gone as smoothly as the man would have liked, but it went as well as he expected it to go. The road before them was a bumpy one, but he had faith that they'd survive them.
Pushing himself up and out of the corner he had settled in, Chase moved to put himself more solidly before Regan. His body swayed and there was something wild in his eye that flashed once before flitting away.
He wasn't completely in control but he had a better grip now than he did before.
"Okay," he replied. It wasn't what he wanted but it was a start, for now.
"I'll be in touch, soon." He offered, an awkward upward quirk of one side of his mouth before he nodded, stepped back and turned away. The sooner he and Silk figured things out, the better.
But they could only take things one step at a time and he would deal with that fact.
What choice did he have?

The quick movement earned a swift defensive pose but the moment was gone immediately as she saw that Chase was just wishing her farewell.
"Okay." She nodded, accepting that this was the start of rebuilding themselves again. One step at a time again.
She would do her best. Nuxaz I call this a wrap madame
