Honoring Those Who Are Gone
Prompt 2

Solo or RP Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7

The fall always seems to be a somber time thanks to the transition of the cold. With less distractions from the chores required during the summer heat, you cannot help but think about those who are no longer there in your life. Maybe it was your mother and father, prominent figures in your life that you never imagined would be gone. Or maybe it was someone taken from your life too soon, like a friend or a sibling. Or maybe it was an animal, a familiar that you raised when you were a kid but passed away from old age.

How do you honor those you have lost? What goes through your mind this time as you celebrate their life and mourn for the loss? Take some time to reflect on the past, and how that impacted you and shaped you for the future. If you want, you can even roleplay with a friend to discuss each other's loss (but both character needs to speak of their own personal loss in order for it to count).

[ We are looking for reflection more so than the actions, but here are the funeral rituals in tendaji:

A lot of it is just burials in cemetery like lots of land. The Alkidike take their Sisters back to the Islands where they have a night ceremony, bringing them back to Aisha, and then floating them off to sea on a pyre. The earthlings have funerals and bury their dead, leaving a stone marker in their place. They usually bury their deceased and pass their belongings down to kin during the ceremony. Each earthling tribe uses a specific burial blanket during their funerals.
]

Seziah sat at a table in the lower kitchens. Her palms rested flat on the surface, and her gaze stared dazedly but unblinkingly ahead. Though the Yaeli woman usually preferred some time to herself, now when there were no others to keep her thoughts from wandering, she found herself consumed by visions of what could happen to the precious bundle she carried within her womb. Mostly anything of the bad luck variety.

She'd already lost a child once before...

It had been nearly a year ago, of course, and even though Seziah didn't dwell within her native home, she felt better, more fit to care for anything than she ever had in Yael. But there were other complications. There was no Diavel or Keyla here to help her through the process. Unlike during her time with them, she now had to work to earn her place and any coin to support herself. the spawn she carried was a hybrid, and who knew what deformities that could entail? Seziah was already abnormal without the addition of mixed blood.

Her children with Tytus could be horrific monsters that turned out to be beyond her capabilities to care for. Seziah almost expected that that's exactly what they'd be. Would that be better or worse than if they simply never made it to being born...?

She didn't know. What she did know was that she was frightened. Everything about the future was unknown and frightening.

Tytus shuffled about his new chambers awkwardly. Even though he had persisted in keeping his sanctuary in the stables the man had secretly also agreed to take up lodging within the main manor - a secret that he had yet to truly reveal to anyone. It was only temporary lodging in one of the guest rooms he told himself as he finished dressing himself and prepared to leave. Temporary fix to a long-term situation that was. Tytus closed his eyes against the knot of worry that continued to twist back and forth in his gut. Everything would be fine, Seziah would be fine and their...their children would be wonderful. But how was he to know that? Neither of them had witnessed a Yaeli loving a mainlander before so only the gods knew what would happen to their hybrid children. Tytus could only imagine all the possibilities before shoving the traitorous thoughts aside. He was not the type to idle around while debating the possibilities of those yet born.

She was human just as he was so why bother with excessive thoughts of what if? They would be children who shared their traits just as any hybrid child did. Tytus nodded as if to persuade himself once more before heading down through the manor. He would find Seziah and see how she was faring though at the same time a note that he had just received crossed the back of his mind once more. It was the anniversary...the anniversary of his father's passing, but Tytus didn't think he would have time to worry about such things now. He would check in on Seziah and then decide the course of the day depending on her health and mood.

Turning and twisting down the hallways until he came to the lower kitchens Tytus stuck his head into the doorway and glanced around, "Seziah?" He called out softly as he spotted her sitting still - something which stirred him to move even closer towards the Yaeli, "Is everything alright?" He asked quietly as a gentle hand rested on her shoulder.

Seziah couldn't quite repress a flinch as Tytus' hand landed on her shoulder. She hadn't been expecting anyone and wasn't entirely sure she wanted to do anything more than be left alone with her own thoughts at present. But a question had been posed to her, and Tytus was here and looking worried. The nature of Sez's own concerns revolved around their children- theirs, Ty's too- so he had every reason to worry as much as she did. It wouldn't do to tell him she wanted space.

Instead, Seziah tipped her head back to look at him and gave a crisp nod. "I am well, yes," It had occurred to her that she didn't want to be upsetting, but in the next instant, she thought better of it.

"I mean, no," Sez admitted after a brief pause. It was the truer answer. Even if she was physically well and there was nothing to be done that could assuage her fears, everything was far from 'alright.' "Actually, I am mulling through fears of what the future could hold for us," she confided. "I am uncertain if I've told you, but this," her fingers rested lightly on the growing bulge of her belly. "Is not my first pregnancy."

And even at that time, she'd been incapable of carrying a child to term... It would have been a pureblood yaeli, born in the security and surety of its home nation... Seziah shook her head. "I have been a bad mother before."

A flicker of hurt, only if for the barest moment, darkened the Oban's gaze before he quickly removed his hand as if to itch the back of his neck. Nonchalantly he lowered said hand again and fiddled with the belt that was around his waist before he peered back towards Seziah with the slightest of smiles. It was fine, he had simply startled her that was all. He simply had to remember to approach first and then if she seemed comfortable he could reach out for her. Tytus studied her as he walked around and settled on perching on top of a preparation table, that was thankfully for the most part cleaned already, and since it was directly across from Seziah it allowed him to keep his gaze on her as she spoke.

"It's..." As the words registered, truly registered, within his mind Tytus found his mouth opening ever so slightly with surprise. He knew that Seziah had a troubled past which pressed her decision to flee Yael in favor of Oba but he never thought about pregnancy, "No, you never told me." He finally admitted as his legs shifted as if he were about to move towards her, but then the man held off and simply sat there instead as he struggled with what words he should say.

"How so?" Tytus finally found himself asking, "Did...did you leave your child behind or?" His cheeks darkened as he struggled to find his words, a rare moment for the usually talkative Oban, "If that's even acceptable to ask, Seziah...I just...I mean I'm here to talk to if you want." His pale gaze sought out hers as he attempted to show his sincerity, "I feel like you saying you're a bad mother creates a simple statement out of something that is probably a bit more complicated, right?" He let out a soft chuckle, "Or perhaps I'm biased, but I don't see how you could be such a bad mother - you haven't appeared to me as a bad person yet." He would have never gotten so close to someone like this, so he was determined to find out the truth of it all. If she was willing to talk about it that was - Tytus personally knew how painful it was to have lost someone. His own father...rested beneath the ground nearby with a marker for the spot...could...her child be the same? Why...why does it have to be such a painful thing? What could he do now but simply wait and see what she had to reveal to him? At the thought his fingers tightened around each other as he tried to sit still and wait for her answer.

She couldn't bring herself to look at him. Though it wasn't her norm to make eye contact to begin with, it was something she tried to manage with Tytus, since she did consider him to be quite special to her, and she wanted him to be able to see whatever reasons for her words and actions he could divulge from her gaze. Diavel had once said such a thing was helpful in forming a strong bond within a relationship. Seziah wanted that now, but... Something like shame kept her pale gaze fixed away from him. He hadn't known the intricacies of the events that led her to Oba, but neither had he needed to, as far as she was concerned.

Seziah wasn't afraid of talking of her past, but she feared it might make her seem too unsavory to him. Those things that had happened... They were filthy things, and even though Ty spent almost his entire day with beasts who were surely as equally as filthy, it was different with another person.

"It was not a planned event," Seziah admitted, smoothing a hand over her stomach as she did. "I would never have thought someone like me was capable of bringing a new life into the world, and I did not have any interest in men. That remained true even after the first time..." She couldn't think of anyone she'd been less interested in than Litanu, and it was only because their unholy act had granted her the small blessing of a child that she hadn't immediately walled all thoughts concerning him off for the rest of her life. "But... But it happened that Dafiel was only prepared to take from me, as she has always done. I was incapable of carrying the child to term."

And such was the reason for her fears now.

"Even though I have left my land and my gods behind, no one has ever said that their powers are limited. They could chase me here. They could take what I have worked to build together with you, and..."

Seziah's eyes stung. She was afraid, yes, but it was more than that. She had already suffered enough atrocities that if it were to happen again, she didn't know what she would do. Just the thought of it hurt. Her lips pinched together, and her eyes burned as though she might cry. Even this sensation was an uncomfortable one. How was she to go on explaining the situation like this? "What if it happens again?" She asked in a small voice.

Tytus was afraid to ask what exactly her worlds entailed. For someone to be with child in an unplanned manner who claimed a dislike of men and who he knew would shy away from even casual touch...the pieces that fit into place did not create an ideal assumption. Whoever it was had to he fortunate that they were on Yael while Tytus lived here in Oba. His fingers curled inwards in frustration because he knew that while it was no fault of his for not knowing Seziah at the time, for being separated by many miles and even by the great ocean, it still bothered him that such a thing could have occurred. Taking a deep breath the Oban stilled himself against the protective fury that had started to warm his chest and heat the back of his neck. That fury which dissipated almost instantly when Seziah's tone shifted and the true loss was revealed.

She had hidden that hurt for so long and had even attempted to avoid revealing such fears. Or was he simply that dense? His thoughts had been full of preparations for the baby's arrival, never had the thought of loss crossed his mind, he had boldly denied it when she had attempted to broach the subject. Oh what a fool he could be!

Fool that he was Tytus still found himself fearing no gods. Those from across the Ocean gave him no stress, but the fact that they could still haunt Seziah broke his heart. She had already suffered so much so by his own gods he swore that no Dafiel or whatever would be reaching out their greedy fingers across the ocean for more. If only he could reassure Seziah of that...

A small, bold trickle of an idea began to process itself in his mind. What if? It was due time that he had introduced her. Closing his eyes for a brief moment as he made his decision Tytus slipped from his perch so that he could approach Seziah, "It won't happen." He stated boldly as he stretched out a hand towards Seziah, "You've trusted in me so far, correct?" The Oban smiled as he gazed at her with warmth in an attempt at expressing his hope and great fondness for the Yaeli, "These gods of yours may have touched you on Yael but these are not their lands. This is Oba, home of warriors and many gods. We also have strong guardians who protect their families and if you are willing to trust and follow me I want to show you to someone who can beat back this Dafiel you fear."

'It won't happen.'

The words left Tytus' mouth, and Seziah's pale gaze flicked toward him almost fearfully before darting away again. He couldn't know, she wanted to argue. He couldn't know what plans the gods had in store for them. Even if he had been graced with the powers of an oracle, that still did little in the way of his abilities to stop any oncoming troubles. Tytus was only a mortal man, and she only a mortal woman... Anything could happen yet to change the entire course of their lives.

But she did trust him, more than she trusted anyone else. Though Seziah still felt wildly hesitant and unprepared for anything that they may face, at least he was here for her now. "Yes," she admitted slowly, as she eyed the hand he extended toward her.

'Gods have no limits,' she wanted to say. Whether Oba was Lerin and Dafiel's land or not, as one of their children, Seziah had no hope of being anything more than a puppet to a higher power's whim. But she liked the idea of being watched over instead by whatever spirits Tytus spoke of. Born on Oba as he was, perhaps it could be different. The children she carried were half his, after all, and conceived on soil far from Yael's borders. Seziah tried to give him a hopeful, hesitant smile as she settled her fingers atop his, but she had no way of knowing how successful it was.

Instead, she pushed from her chair and rose to a stand. "I would like to see anyone who you believe could offer us any assistance."

He knew she was fearful of the future, of the fates that she carried inside, and in all truth so was he. Tytus simply didn't want to give into such fears as he felt that surely everything would work out. Hadn't those very gods brought the two of them together in a way? Had none of those tragedies occurred then he would have never met Seziah for she would have had no valid reasoning to leave her home for this strange, new country. While it was incredibly selfish of him the Oban was secretly thankful that their lives had unfolded in such ways to allot such a fateful encounter. Not that he was pleased to learn all that she had endured thus far, but at the same time he was undeniably thankful that she had in the end been led to his arms.

Now that their fates were intertwined Tytus was determined to keep any additional hardships away. She was already in his life and none of the gods needed to tarnish anything else with curses or whatever one deemed their bad luck and heartache to be. Despair would be the last emotion that he would ever fathom allowing into their lives again. He had been there with his own loss before but now as promised a new chapter was beginning and Tytus was not a man to break such commitments. His promise would keep, it had to.

But it was his loss that he would address soon and as their fingers laced together the Oban gave Seziah a thankful squeeze for all of her attempts at hoping and trying to seem slightly more at ease, "It will be a walk but nothing too awful." He commented quietly as he gently ushered her forward alongside of him. The kitchens thankfully were still for the time being and even the quietest of noises could be heard as everyone retired for a moment to rest and others went about other areas of the estate on their business. Most of the Noble family were not present due to commitments that would force them to linger in the city until the later hours of the evening if not throughout the night into the next morning. For that Tytus was also thankful as it made it even easier to slip outside of the kitchen, out of the manor, and into the outside world where the sun barely shimmered about loose, gray clouds. It was still incredibly still as even the wind seemed quiet as Tytus gestured towards the Eastern gate of the estate near the stables where they could take a winding path away from the estate and towards slight hills that overlooked Jatine.

“I am not afraid of walking,” Seziah retorted at Tytus’ initial comment as she agreeably allowed herself to be led from the room. She wasn’t so round yet that such a thing was too terribly exhausting. To be fair, she hardly felt any physically different at all, at the moment… Aside from knowing she carried what was essentially a parasite within her and fearing for its safety and her capableness and- of any number of horrible things could befall her. Should she really even travel the distance Tytus was suggesting? What if the trek caused some added strain that she hadn’t anticipated or they met some untamable beast on the way that sensed her weakness and took her for prey?

Perhaps she did feel a little different.

Seziah thredding her fingers through Ty’s and couldn’t help but squint at her own folly. She’d never feared such things. ‘What if, what if, what if-?’ It was something so many Yaeli did while worrying, but Seziah had always thought herself different. Practical. With anxieties of her own, of course, but never something so blatantly out of the ordinary as to fear that a wild animal may just decide to cross her path and eat her. She frowned and decided she wasn’t any more fond of ‘what if’s now than she’d ever been before.

“I am not afraid,” she repeated again in a quieter murmur as they made it past the boundaries of the manor and out onto its bright, sunshiney lawn. Saying it didn’t necessarily make the entirety of her fears subside. It felt natural to think that anything in the past may just as likely happen again, but… She settled the hand not curled around Ty’s fingers over her stomach and took a breath.

She didn’t want her child to grow up (if it had the opportunity to grow up at all…) frightened of everything that moved or breathed. They were not on Yael, where it was customary to fear shadows for the curses they may contain, or forests for the demons they hid, or even negativity for the thought that the very gods wished ill upon them. They were not there, and Seziah wanted her child to grow up feeling free, happy and unburdened by such asinine things as ‘what if’s. Tytus would help her with that. She knew he would, surely, since he seemed intent on ridding Seziah of her fears now.

She wondered if she ought to speak with him about how things should progress between him and her offspring if she were to not make it here, in life, as far as he did…

But she decided against it. There were no symptoms now that might constitute as a warning for her early passing, and even if there were, she could safely conclude that death wouldn’t be something she would undertake alone. Seziah did have a precious bundle blooming within her, after all. Moons, she decided. They would be safe yet for many moons to come. With a nod of self-assurance, Sez fell into a calmer, more rational state of mind. “Will they be angry if we shirk from our duties again…?” She questioned with a quizzical glance over her shoulder, back toward the manor.

The faintest trace of a wry smile appeared across Tytus's features, "Good." He replied as they continued walking. It was true that while Seziah wasn't far along in her pregnancy Tytus couldn't help himself from worrying about her. Not that he had ever truly interacted with a pregnant woman before nor had he ever expected to experience such a situation in which he was fathering children. It was a hazy feeling to realize that his reality would be forever altered by this Yaeli and the one that she carried inside of her body. Yet Tytus was not disdainful of the unborn child rather he was just in awe that such a thing had occurred. How was it that he, a young careless and reckless man would suddenly be thrust into a realm of responsibilities? Even if she had assured him that she was quite capable, something he truly did believe as she seemed to be one of those women who once determined could satisfy any necessity or desire, Tytus was one who was raised to recognize his responsibility for his own actions. It seemed that for the past few years he had turned his gaze away from the reality of who he was, what he was supposed to accomplish in this world, but now things were shifting beneath his feet again. All because of one person. His gaze shifted towards her and despite the sorrow that lingered in the revelation of her loss the man did have a flicker of amusement now in his crimson gaze. After all his running, all his playful hiding the man had finally been caught by someone - who would have expected it? Such thoughts created a warmth that flooded his stomach and filled his heart with a twisting feeling that expressed his secret worries that mixed with that happiness. Who after all wished to lose anything when a new chapter had appeared before them? Tytus found his fingers squeezing Seziah's hand reassuringly, a motion possibly more for himself than for her in truth. He wouldn't let her lose this baby, he would do his best to care for her and to make certain that she was looked after by those who could assist more in keeping her and her baby safe. Perhaps it was a bold declaration for him to speak against any gods but Tytus felt as if he were willing to chase any evil spirits or greater beings in order to protect this new beginning.

Such feelings made him dismiss any fear on what any employers could do and so Tytus shook his head at Seziah's question, "They are gone for the day and I'm certain that I can cover up any stories if someone on the staff wishes to talk." The corner of his mouth turned downwards in a slight frown as he pondered the possibilities of complaints against Seziah as thankfully Tytus was accustomed to working alone if not with Yu, "Worst case I had a medical emergency and needed your assistance for the day. Perhaps one of the Janarim or a Xaraan got too wild and I'll need bandages on an arm later." He flashed a small smirk towards Seziah, "And if a certain noble boy wishes to stir trouble please let me know so I can find a new way to deal with him." It was a valiant statement and perhaps Seziah wouldn't believe in his ability to follow up on such a thing yet Tytus had his resolve. The more he thought about it, the more Seziah expressed her worries, the more that a decision was forming in the back of his mind. He simply didn't know when the time to act would be best. Nor did he wish to disappear, not with their current situation, and to move would be to leave for a short time. Tytus bit the inside of his cheek thoughtfully as they continued along. Crucial decisions always were a hassle for the young Oban since he dreaded them so much that it constantly made his insides feel like they were being pressed onto iron spikes.

It was much better to be reckless and to go on his intuition. Potentially a small lie to help himself forward since even now he wondered if his current choice of action was the best for Seziah. Still it was too late now to regret anything and so as they wandered a bit more Tytus eventually showed her to a small gated area. The gates were iron covered with creeping vines rarely found in Oba with their delicate white flowers and sweet aroma the plants could only thrive in a place with water. Thankfully Jatine was perfect considering its position in comparison to the rest of the desert country. It was the main reason his father had wished to settle here and it was here that Tytus had allowed him to rest. Ever so carefully he let go of Seziah's hand so that he could press against the gate which swung inwards with only the slightest of creaks, it was a place obviously cared for as the gate swung almost effortlessly due to its upkeep, and the grounds themselves were trimmed and full of Jatine's wildflowers that decorated the teal-green blades of grass with various speckles of gold and indigo. Standing above the gently shifting sea of emerald, amethyst, and gold colors was a strikingly white monument made of white marble with its edges gently curved and shaped by some artisan. It was carved and smoothed in such a way to accent the engraving in the center that showed a man riding a Xaraan in full Oban army regalia. Beneath was an inscription, 'Gen Rakgazi - A great man is one who leaves others at a loss when he is gone', and it was that inscription that Tytus gently traced a finger over before daring to peer back towards Seziah. Arron was always a bit sentimental and Tytus was honestly surprised that the man hadn't gone with something more endearing to leave on his lover's marker.

"I know Yaeli can be a bit superstitious and the Obans have some beliefs as well." Tytus smiled as he turned back towards his companion, his expression a mixture of sorrow and endearment, "I opt to believe that our ancestors guard us and that since the child you carry also has my blood I wanted you to know that at least this one spirit is surely watching over them." He studied Seziah with only slight apprehension for her reaction before taking a deep breath and gesturing towards the tombstone, "My father was a highly respected warrior so I doubt many would want to mess with his spirit. I wish you two could have met when he was alive, but I was hoping that maybe this introduction would still work?" He knew that she had opened up to him about her loss and so he wished to do the same. While he had never experienced the loss of a child he had experienced loss in his own way and hoped that he could share it with her as well. And perhaps it would be comforting to know that in a way Tytus did feel that his father's spirit could and would be watching over them.

Seziah couldn't say that she held any special degree of certainty for Tytus' words this time. Even if the whole family of them was out today, doing things that nobles did and likely thinking very little about the one Yaeli intrusion in their house, she felt somewhat skeptical that one boy in particular would take too kindly to her being off alone with Tytus again should he become aware of it. Zakeel had never been cruel to her. He'd never done anything that would make her more fear his presence than just be uncomfortable in it, but recently he came with a certain short animosity that made Seziah feel like regardless of whether or not anything expressly bad had happened yet, that could always change in the future.

She decided not to think on it. Zakeel's moods hardly seemed relevant for the moment. The concern just came at a time when she didn't want to be fearing anything besides her growing, unborn child's safety... And someone who could do as he pleased was certainly worth her concern- But she wasn't going to think on it, was she?

Seziah laced her fingers and folded them lightly across her stomach, then gave a sound that she hoped served as some sort of affirmative. She wasn't concerned, she wasn't... At least, she hoped Tytus didn't think she was.

It was easier to feel reassured as they moved farther away from the house and more toward... Ah, the untamed wilderness Tytus so seemed to enjoy. Except this particular wilderness was squared off by a great iron gate. Perhaps it wasn't so 'untamed,' after all. 'No,' Seziah decided as they moved past the gates covered in free-growing vines and flowers and into something more closely resembling someone's yard. 'Hardly untamed at all.' And amidst that field, standing starkly white against green and bursts of color.

"A gravestone..." Seziah mumbled softly. "A rather large and intricate one as compared to anything she had ever seen. Most Yaeli were not granted more than a simple marker, unless they were an especially important priest... And for her own child... There had been nothing of substance to bury, and no one even willing to send an undeveloped spirit to its rest with the carefully crafted words of a eulogy...

She really was a terrible mother.

It wasn't just that thought that made her sad. It was standing here, faced with the physical evidence of what Tytus had also lost, of knowing that her child- their child- wouldn't know it's grandfather, or either of its grandparents on Seziah's side. Even if they had a 'proper' family, it would be so small, so incomplete... "I would have liked to meet him too, I think," she admitted. "in my religion, the spirits of the dead are guarded by the god, Lurin, until-"

But she had forsaken her gods. She could hardly say she had a religion, anymore, unless Tytus was willing to share his beliefs with her, as he did seem inclined to do in the moment.

"It is good that he was a warrior, then. Brave and talented, I hope, because to me it seems like you would have to be, to ward of the will of any gods, regardless of where they may originate." Seziah rubbed her laced fingers up and down across her stomach. "And... she has your blood too. So perhaps she will be like you and more capable of warding off evil than I could ever be."

Tytus felt his gaze lowering towards the ground in shame. Perhaps this hadn't been the wisest decision after all. The Oban tried to force a small smile despite how solemn Seziah appeared. Then again how could one be jolly when faced with a grave? Tytus let out a soft sigh before nodding in acknowledgment to her words, "It's true enough." He whispered before moving so that he stood next to her, "Perhaps this wasn't my best timing but it's his memory day as well. In Oba when one passes we keep stones to remember them and can visit - I'm not certain of how those in Yael honor those beyond time but that is our way. Since the desert is a harsh place and since we have lost many in seas and at battles sometimes all we can do is make a stone for them."

The back of his neck warmed as he continued speaking, "I am hoping so. I know you may not know many of our gods but there is one named On'os and he brings fate and fortune....I feel as if he allowed me to meet you, one stranger in a sea of strangers who could have easily been swept away in the crowds. Instead I spotted you and you actually followed me despite your apprehensions." Sheepishly Tytus smiled towards her, "Even if you may regret it considering how reckless a man I am I still feel very blessed that On'os allowed us to meet and that Hatald, our goddess of women, blessed you with fertility and...more. Such as good healers who I will make certain to find to help you out should there be complications with your pregnancy." Tytus offered healers to express his dedication and to cover up how he had almost spoken of marriage. This was not a spot to propose in that much he knew and Tytus kept the full truth of Hatald's full domain to himself. One day though he would find the courage and even more importantly the perfect moment to mention such an offer to Seziah. She had so much to still adapt to in Oba and so much more to figure out that Tytus didn't wish to push her into anything so binding just yet. All he wished to do now was to care for her and to make certain that she had access to whatever she needed during this time.

"Essd is our guardian of the dead but she also guards those of the living as well. I suppose in a sense she holds the whole world in comparison to the other gods we know." Tytus glanced towards Seziah, "I'm sure she will not be so cruel to you, Seziah, not when Hatald already blessed you with child." He twisted the toe of his boot into the ground, "That and I'm sure my father would give them an earful as well." He forced a laugh, something tinged with sorrow and hint of his own fearfulness which caused him to ramble so, "I'm sorry I'm rambling so much but I just wanted to share something of mine with you since you shared so much with me already. I wanted to show you my father's resting place and perhaps offer you a way to remember your loss should you want." His gaze was gentle as he glanced towards Seziah, "Even if the child wasn't mine, even in that case, I still feel that whatever is connected with you in a sense is connected with my own life." He flushed lightly, "Like strings connecting us, tragedy seemed to lay the stones for our paths and so if you would feel comfortable with it or so desire there is plenty of room up here or we can find another spot to place a stone, that can be smaller or whatever you would like, for the one who you mourn as well."

It was difficult to explain the myriad of fluctuations in her mood. There was sadness, of course, at knowing all that she had lost and all she had endured, as well as for the opportunity that had been stolen from her to know the man Tytus spoke so fondly of... Seziah had always thought she'd treasured her parents, her mother in particular, but it didn't even feel comparable to the way Tytus spoke of his father. Besides sadness, there was acceptance. The past was behind her- and Tytus' behind him. They could only hope to move forward, and they had been gifted with something worth moving forward with. Happiness because her troubled life had brought her, to this place with this man, where she had managed to find more peace yet than ever before and where she hoped to continue to enjoy all that Oba could offer her.

Guilt. For running from the land of her birth, for fleeing from the anguish that Yael had brought her instead of trying to reason with her path and grow as a person and make more of an effort to remember and cherish the life she'd carried for even so short a time...

"No, it- it is a good time," She tried to tell Tytus, and it likely was as good a time as any, if the day was the same of Ty's father's passing... "It is a fine way to honor his memory." And more than she had done for even her own child, though she supposed that of course that was the case. Ty's father was a grown and respected man, who seemed to have some accomplishments. And Seziah's first was none of those things, just a couple months' worth of growth inside an outcast, single parent.

But the gods were good to her here, and she expected that even though Tytus had lost a treasured family member before his time, they were otherwise passable good to him as well. The fact that this was an 'introduction,' to his family and perhaps even to the more intimate portions of his life, was not lost on her. "Thank you for bringing me here," she murmured. "It is a beautiful place, one I would be honored to have my family share with yours."

A small, thankful smile crossed Tytus's expression at Seziah's words. If anything despite his worries at least it seemed a few words from her lips was enough to ease his spirit. What's mine is yours. He wanted to say but the man kept his thoughts silent before simply nodding, "I'm thankful to hear that." He admitted softly before reaching out a hand towards her, "We'll have to come again but for now I suppose it is best if we head back. I don't wish for either of us to get into trouble and there is still much of the day ahead."

Soon he would find a way out, but for now it was in their best interest to stay at the estate. For Seziah, especially,it was crucial to keep on the down low and to continue living as they had before. Who knew that the place that once offered him freedom now seemed to be creating chains for him? Tytus let out a soft sigh before forcing a smile, "Thank you for coming all the way here with me today. I truly appreciate it." As he was certain his father's spirit did. His crimson gaze for the briefest moment flickered towards the stone. I'll be back. And they would have a family one day to bring here so that he could show them his father's resting place...the thought was bittersweet but one that Tytus surprisingly looked forward to because it meant that he had a family, a family to grow in Oba with him.

Strange how eager he was for this new chapter - something he never would have dreamed of happening in his life until now.
