Alex hated it that he still had more days 'off' than 'on', but knew it was, on some level, necessary. He was still recovering, if more mentally than physically, and it was a slow road that was often painful to walk. But every day was another victory, or... so his therapist said, when he didn't bother to try getting out of it.

He still preferred the days he could keep busy, and while that wasn't an option with work today, there were other ways.

Usually, those ways were spending time with Zee, but the blond had been surprisingly scarce today, so instead he was taking the time to bother his sister. instead.

"Sami?" He moved toward her room, but it was clear even from a distance that she wasn't out of bed - and it looked like her was locked, as well. That... wasn't a good sign, at all.

"Sami. Don't make me break in."

He would, too.

"I know when you're lying," Alex said, and sighed. Right. Time to hack his way into her room, then. At least electronic locks were pitifully easy for him. There was almost no wait time before he barged in on his sister's room, took one look at her huddling in beg, and flopped next to her.

"Soooooooo. Time for me to dote on you for a day, huh?"

"No you're not and you're immune to other viruses so there had to be a tradeoff somewhere," Alex said, only slightly sympathetic. "At least you don't end up bedridden for a week every time there's a large Maverick outbreak." Still, he let her snuggle in.

"So. Want a day of me spoiling you, this time?"

"Sure," Alex said, though he would have done that sort of thing with her even if she wasn't feeling sick. "You can pick the game, if you want? I promise I won't cheat. And I can make you something to eat!" He wasn't a bad cook - nothing like their father, but better than their uncle and absolutely better than their aunt Gracie.

He could at least make a decent soup for her if she wanted one.

"I know," Alex said, and stood up to tuck her in and set the lighting in the room to a dim-but-visible setting, then set up the viewscreen TV. "How about we watch a movie right now and see if you feel up to mario in a little while, okay?" In her current state, he wasn't sure Sami was actually up to playing, as fussy as she was obviously feeling...

"Sure," Alex agreed, sighing. She was definitely sick, if she was acting like uncle Albert. He'd have to send a message to Mom to keep Dad under control before he came home and fussed too much. But for now... well. Her idea wasn't so bad. Sticking on a random movie from Sami's collection, he flopped on the bed next to her and scooted up with his back against the headboard, then lifted an arm for her to wiggle in.

"C'mere, okay?"

"Love you too," Alex said, then sighed as he peered at his sister. "...have you taken anything for this sick, or were you determined to suffer and be miserable until I came by?"

Somehow, he suspected the latter. If so, she really was as bad as Uncle Albert, and would need to be watched more closely until he was one-hundred percent certain she was feeling better....

"And does anyone even know that you're sick?"
