Recent rainfall has kept temperatures cool but one of the parks can’t handle all the water draining into it. The water has turned it into a strange swamp and, in addition to the terrible smell, people have claimed to see strange floating lights—or, weirder—a strange, hulking figure that seems right at place in the swamp. Some have described it as being seven feet tall, covered in moss and weeds and mud and who knows what else; while no one has been able to confirm this, if you venture too close you might wind up observing something strange, yourself. The park no longer feels safe and if you wander too close you may feel hateful eyes upon you. You may even wind up chased out by a monstrous swamp monster, but if you try to approach him or interact otherwise, he seems to disappear. It’s probably best just to stay away from the park until the water dries up, just in case.
Hyperborea pinched her nose as she stood at the edge of the newly created swamp. All the rainfall recently had turned the park into a marshland. The air was cool and crisp, owed to the rainfall that had cause the land to change. Now normally the young knight and heiress would not be anywhere near a swamp but the rumors that had been circulating around had brought her here. Tales of a strange hulking beast weird floating lights, all signs pointed to it being magical in nature the only question was it order, chaos, or something in-between. She felt that it was her duty as a knight to determine if this creature be it a youma, a wraith or a new monster was dangerous and if it is then to take it out. Hyperborea had discarded her cloak as it wouldn't serve her well in the swamp. She lifted her skirt up as she stepped through the muck, it was not a pleasant experience to say the least. The young knight felt like she was in a dangerous place for some reason, she felt hate filled eyes watching her from somewhere. That was when she caught a glimpse of the monster. It seemed to stand over seven feet tall, even with the growth spurt the young girl had been having in recent months she still felt tiny compared to creature. The monster was covered in mud, moss, and cosmos only knew what else. Most people would be sent running by the sight of such a creature but Hyperborea was no stranger to fighting monsters. Albeit this was no youma or wraith she still wasn't about to back down. She began trying to rush toward the best but she was slowed down by the muck and sludge, luckily she was able to power through it with her superior strength but with the combination of trees and swampy ground she was still slowed down. She wondered if the creature was intelligent, was it a transformed human perhaps? It didn't feel like chaos per say. Where could this creature have come from, she was fairly certain it hadn't been in this park before the rains. Did it travel with the rains, that certainly wouldn't be the weirdest form of travel she knew about. There was alot of questions swirling around the silver haired girl's head and she wanted answers. She picked up her pace trying to gain on the monster in the dark woods. However just as she thought she had caught up to it, it seemed to vanish in thin air. Hyperborea was left standing alone in the dark forest. It was then she realized how cold she was, mud caked to her feet and staining the hem of her pure white skirt. She could feel the hateful eyes watching her again. The young knight decided maybe it would be best to call it a night and make her way home, perhaps some mysteries weren't meant to be solved in this world of magic and monsters.
