Webs have begun to appear all over Destiny City at an alarming pace; at first it doesn’t seem like anything to be concerned with—at first. Maybe a web over a window or door frame is the worst you see, but there have been reports of webs that cover a whole tree or even entire cars. The media cites changing weather patterns and, even though you don’t see any spiders, it’s clear you might have a problem.
Being bed bound had one advantage. You had ample time to read about anything and everything and if you ever doubted something you could just stop reading that particular thing and go read something else at your leisure. If reading bored you? Well, according to both Arthur and his ward, you were stupid and just had not found the right reading material yet. A kindle, (perhaps the greatest gift she’d gotten and item she owned because books and movies and bubble popping games all in one device? Better than any magic to be sure. Plus it was made for books. MADE for it. She ate book with a viciousness now because of it). Reading was how the teen was keeping her mind sane and sharp, it was also how she was keeping just occupied in general because had she had nothing, the girl with the name of a forsaken royal hell bent on killing his father and taking over his kingdom, she would have been attempting to break out from the hospital at every opportunity, (not that she didn’t already with her recent antics of taking to sitting outside on decent weather days just to be defiant and spiteful to the hospital staff and life in whole).
So as she was reading the city papers, the spread on webs was interesting to say the least. One, if a prank oh man she loved it. It was so weird and creepy and such a big ******** you to the city because the city kept having to clean it up and try to explain it. Granted, she had no idea how anyone could have done it, but man, it was a great prank if it was a prank. Now, however, if it was not a prank but the second coming of Shelob or the spiders from the mirkwood, she was not too thrilled if that was the reality. You didn’t have to be a lord of the rings fan to know how ******** they’d be if it was a mirkwood type situation. Was it youma? Mutant spiders from some government experiment gone wrong? (if so, um, where was spiderman? Hello? Comics lied, monsters before super heroes always. Not a hero then super villians. Lord) No matter the cause, Mordred sat in her bed, reading as much as she could find on the web about the mysterious cob webs around the city, (haha, funny. Web on web action she mused).
In the end, she was left with more questions than answers, and it sucked because the internet was nothing relianbe because the fact remained, she couldn’t henshin in the hospital, she couldn’t go look, and she couldn’t DO anything about the webs even if she’d wanted to. She just had to settle for pictures and cover ups and tumblr theories. So far, she kind of hoping that it was semi-mirkwood and the world was becoming middle earth. At least elf dudes were hot. She could appreciate an Orlando bloom elf dude running around.
She was 14 and stuck in a hospital. Let her wish. And hope it wasn’t youma.
(It was probably yoma)
