Quote: Walking anywhere at night can be risky in Destiny City, but tonight it’s not being attacked by some punk in a strange outfit. The squeaking above you is a dead giveaway that you’re not going to have a good night. Perhaps you remember the flock of bats that swarmed down on Destiny City last year; if you’re lucky, this is your first time being attacked by one. Thankfully it seems like a lone bat has made its way out of whatever cave they’ve moved from, but this thing is giant. It has a six foot wingspan. Does the bat fly away without harassing you? Do you fight it? If it scratches you, you walk away fine, but if it bites you then you can expect a rough time. Being bitten by these bats leaves two small marks that will itch for a few hours. Then, exhaustion and fatigue sets in and you become extremely sensitive to external stimulus; skin feels like it becomes overheated in sunlight, bright lights are painful to the eyes, and smells and sounds can seem overwhelming. The victim will feel constantly cold and hungry, no matter how much they eat or drink. They may also be prone to agitation and bouts of violence. These afflictions may last only a few hours or a few days and then suddenly disappear. Finally the time of year where my uniform actually starts to make sens. Alphubel thought as he calmly looked over the side of the building, glad that he was not sweating just by standing. Finally his wintery outfit actually helped! Though that wasn't why he was out tonight. Tonight he had been patrolling for a bit. It had been a couple of days after the spider attack, and like a few of his other fellow knights and senshi, he had been on the lookout for them, and anything else that was strange around the city. So far he had had no luck in finding any spiders, though he was somewhat happy he hadn't run into any of them. After all, they were pretty dangerous! Though at this point, it was an expected part of life being a magical squire who had to help save the world from the Negaverse. This time last year he would have never known about anything like senshi or knights or Negaverse agents. Even though he had been attacked by bats at an event last year, he didn't think anything else would be that bad. After all, they could have just been experimenting with giant creatures, right? It was only after the first party at the botanical garden building with the attacking poinsettas that he had considered possibly leaving and going to live back with his parents. His brother wouldn't have blamed him, after all, his older sibling had been the one to warn him about what it was like here in Destiny City, he just hadn't expected... this type of danger. Guns and knives maybe, but weird giant creatures? He would have never thought of it. It was only after he had been awakened as a knight that he realized that he had to stay here. He had convinced Tom that it was all right for him to be here and it's what he really wanted, but his older brother was still worried. Jason had desperately wanted to tell his brother what or who he was, but this was one secret he had to keep from his sibling, and it hurt him deeply. So, he knew that his brother would be wondering what the heck Alphubel was doing out here this late at night, but he could not, and would not tell him. He frowned a bit, suddenly feeling a couple of auras come to life. Or at least one. There was another, darker aura out there that he almost felt wasn't there, and questioned himself as to whether or not it was actually real.

Sailor Dejanira was out on her first patrol she was actually looking for danger and adventure, which was pretty crazy for the quiet mild-mannered gardener. She had fought the spiders, but only with the help of other senshis, it was pretty clear that Sailor Dejanira wasn't ready to fight my herself for very long. She shivered a little in her outfit considering that her outfit was very spring in nature and it was very fall and getting colder by the day. She wondered if there was a way to get a magical uniform that was more fuzzy but still cute raspberry in nature. After all she was the senshi of raspberries so that wasn't going to change anytime soon. Michiko felt close to the sweet fruit it was one of the first things she had learned how to grow. Sailor Dejanira had never thought the city was like this, spiders, monsters, ghosts, gargoyles, rumors of giant bats?? It was crazy but there it was. Here she was jumping from roof to roof looking for danger in the night. It was what Michiko had wanted in a way she wanted to help battle the darkness and now she could, though she knew that she needed a lot of training before she would be strong enough to stand on her own. Then again maybe the sailor scouts were never meant to stand on their own perhaps teamwork was what this was all about. Sailor Dejanira felt the dark aura she went toward where she felt it she looked around to see if she could see the source of the darkness. What she was first thought was a senshi wearing a lot warmer outfit then she was wearing luck. It seemed that Sailor Dejanira was more of a spring summer senshi then a fall winter senshi but of well. Just because it was chilly out didn't mean the darkness in the city sat at home under a blanket with a cup of hot coco, so Michi couldn't sit at home warm and cozy either. She stood near the senshi and asked. "Have you found anything yet??" Her voice was soft if there was a monster nearby Michiko didn't want to give away their position and put both her and the other scout at risk. Sailor Dejanira looked out into the darkness, she heard what sounded like wings flapping in the night and she shivered a little she was a little nervous. Michiko didn't love fighting, but she wanted to become more brave so she could face this and stand strong. When the bat finally came forward Sailor Dejanira took aim and cried out "Raspberry jam smash!" Sailor Dejanira creates a red ball of magic raspberry jam that she jumps into the air and smashes down on her target. The attack has a stinging sensation (with skin contact) that lasts about 30 secs. range about 5 meters. She landed back on the ground and watched to see what the bat would do next. Michiko was also careful to pay attention to the attacks of the other senshi she had been with.

The White Moon aura was coming closer, though he could tell the darker one had been hanging around. And wasn't too surprised when out of the corner of his eye he saw, and heard, a senshi jump onto the rooftop that he was on. He smiled, glad to have some company. "No, I haven't found anything yet. Though I feel like there's something here that I'm just missing..." He replied, almost muttering the last part, a bit distracted since he felt as though the negaverse aura was suddenly getting closer. Suddenly, like the senshi, he heard the flapping of wings, and suddenly the bat was within their sights! It looked a lot like the bats that had attacked the festival last year, though he couldn't be sure considering that he had been trying to dodge them but had mostly gotten hit instead. And they had been moving so quickly that he couldn't get too good of a look at them. Either way, another bat was attacking him this time, and this time he was actually ready and could do something about it! Faster than he could anticipate, the senshi next to him had sent her attack at the bat, and the bat seemed to screech in pain for a bit, and still covered in a bit of raspberry jam. Unfortunately the bat was still failing around as it tried to attack them still, and so Alphubel held up his lantern, light coming out of it and confusing the bat even more. "Maybe if you hit it another time it will either go away or it'll be defeated!" After all, he didn't really have offensive magic to speak of, only magic that could confuse. If the bat was distracted for long enough, the senshi could easily get some attacks in, right?

Sailor Dejanira's attack didn't hurt very much, but she figured if her second attack of raspberry jam smash didn't work, she could hit or kick the bat till it flew away. Dejanira jumped up and cried out "Raspberry jam smash!!" Bring her red ball of jam power down on the bat. "Alright then." Dejanira landed back down on the roof watching the bat closely to see what it would do next. She wondered what the other person was able to do. Michiko didn't know much about the range of powers others had.

Unfortunately Alphubel's lantern was almost out of power, and so instead he hooked it back onto his uniform, waiting for the senshi to bring down her attack again. At this point the bat seemed to hurting quite a bit, or perhaps it seemed to be getting weaker at least, and Alphubel decided to see if the strength he gained as a knight meant anything. He quickly ran up to the bat and aimed his fist at the bat's head, and before the bat could even try to dodge, Alphubel had hit it in the head with his fist. And to his very great surprise, the youma suddenly got dusted, and Alphubel was staring at where it had been for a couple of seconds, his brain trying to catch up with what had just happened. After a few seconds he shook his head, remembering that there was someone else here whom he turned back to and smiled. "Wow that was great! It's always nice to have someone helping when a youma attacks!"

Sailor Dejanira blushed and looked at the other person, she was still getting her footing in all of this. "Umm what's a youma??" Michiko was still very new to this world, and she just wasn't kool enough to pretend she thought the creature they had just fought was anything but a giant monster bat. So she would rather tell the other person she didn't know what a youma was, rather than letting them think she was kool and knew everything. Which she didn't she had learned a little from Sumi, but Michiko felt like she was still so clueless about so much in destiny city. "I'm Sailor Dejanira by the way." She said softly.

Alphubel's face turned into one of concern when Dejanira had asked what a youma was. Although he had been thrown into all of this rather suddenly himself, he had been able to get most of the information he had needed from someone else. And he knew there were others who didn't get that chance. There really needs to be some basic guide or something. He thought to himself as he walked over to her. "A youma is uh... well it's a person who has had chaos forced into them to where they turn into a monster. Though I believe most of them come from the Negaverse. There's no way of turning someone back to human that I know of so don't feel bad about fighting them. They go after people's starseeds as food and we have to protect others from them." He wasn't sure if he was getting it exactly right. Perhaps some youma were just made from something else? Either way, he didn't want the senshi to feel guilty about the creature they had just dusted. He knew that he had had to get over the guilt of not being able to do what he thought was morally right a few times. "I'm Alphubel, Squire of Polaris. It's nice to meet you Dejanira." He said, trying to change the subject a bit.

Michiko was shocked by what she heard she never wanted to hurt a person, she was a gentle person and thought she had been fighting a monster. She started to cry but whipped her tears away not wanting the other person to see her cry. "That is terrible." Sailor Dejanira said softly. Dejanira whipped her eyes again and cleared her throat before she answered. "Nice to meet you too Alphubel." Then she blinked "Squire of Polaris? Is that a different kind of senshi?" Michiko really needed a handbook for figuring all this stuff out. Sumi was bonded to another senshi but perhaps Michiko could find her own guardian cat friend who could help her navigate this strange magical world.

Alphubel got a concerned look on his face. This girl seemed to be very new to all of this and he had just blurted all of this out. Should have just called it a monster from the Negaverse. Stupid Alphubel! He thought, trying to come up with a way to keep her distracted from it. "You... might need to talk to someone more knowledgeable than me. After all, what I heard may have been wrong!" It could be, right? A different kind of senshi? "Ah, no. Actually I'm a knight. We're allies to the senshi though not every senshi gets a knight or knights, only ones who have become princes or princesses have them." At least that's how he thought it worked. After all, Polaris was a princess. Not one he had ever met, sure, but still that's what he had heard.

Sailor Dejanira wasn't so sure about all of this, she would have to consider her moves more carefully if Alphubel was right and the youma were once human. Michiko was a gentle soul and she didn't want to hurt anyone, even if others thought they were evil. "I will have to do that thank you for the information Alphubel." Sailor Dejanira said softly. "I better be going." Michiko said before jumping off the roof and heading home so she could power down and think.
