Prompt-Spider Bite
Being bitten by a giant spider is uncomfortable enough, but worse than the sharp pain you feel on impact are the linger effects of the bite. Being bitten can cause nausea, dizziness, fatigue and hallucinations. These symptoms can begin immediately after being bitten or can manifest up to a few hours after the toxins are introduced to the bloodstream. These symptoms may only last for a few hours—or up to 72 hours. You, or someone you know, has the misfortune of being bitten; no medicine seems to help this ailment, so you’re stuck weathering this one out on your own.
Lulu had planned on fully enjoying the event at the Bootanical Gardens. A chance to see some rare and exotic plants up close? Yes, please! Only, she didn't really get a chance to enjoy anything the event had to offer aside from the free food. Things had gone sour quickly and the next thing she knew a giant spider was digging it's fangs into her ankle. While she had managed to avoid getting eaten completely, she knew that there was a good chance it was fairly poisonous.
The medics showed up though and she was able to get her ankle tended to, a bandage to stop the bleeding. She was surprised when she actually didn't feel sick at first, maybe they were just very big wolf spiders or something. Hopefully it was nothing to worry about, so after checking in with her family she decided to go home. They were nice enough to drop her off at her apartment at least and once inside she decided a shower was the first thing she needed to do.
Maybe it was he steam from the water, but suddenly she felt light headed and needed to step out. She leaned with one shoulder against the wall as she pulled her robe over herself. Suddenly she was burning up and she couldn't quite focus her eyes. Oh god, was this the spider bite? It was hard to imagine the effects coming so long after the bite had occurred. It had been a few hours already, but she could barely get herself out of her bathroom.
Phone? Where had she left her phone. It must still be in her bag, which was in her living room. The room was spinning around her and she couldn't quite put one foot in front of the other. She thought she was something scurry by her out of the corner of her eye, but when she looked there wasn't anything there. It must be making her paranoid. She tripped over her own feet and threw her hands in front of her to protect her head from hitting the floor. Ugh, she felt like she was going to be sick. Even if she did try to take some medicine, she had a feeling it wouldn't stay down long enough for it to actually work.
She spent the next couple of hours in her bathroom, she must have crawled back in there. The night went by in a blur and when she finally woke up on her bathroom floor in the morning, she was at least through the worst of it. She felt sore and achey, but at least she wasn't seeing creeping things out of the corner of her eyes and she couldn't possibly throw up anymore. She called in a sick day at work and huddled up on her couch with blankets and orange juice.
