Prompt - Spider Ambush
Giant spiders were reported at the Destiny City Botanical Garden, but upon police arrival none of the spiders could be found. This either means that everyone there had a mass hallucination, or worse…There are Giant Spiders still out there, lurking in Destiny City. You might have been at the Gardens, you might not have—but you’re about to get up close and personal with a giant spider while you are out one night. At first, nothing seems amiss; the spiders have no energy signatures and can creep silently, but they appear out of nowhere. They are easily the size of a small car and can appear alone or in groups. Their legs are strong and sharp, and they have long fans the size of steak knives. Toxic foam dribbles from their mouths, so if you’re fighting them—be careful. The spiders can be defeated or will run away if they are too damaged, but another spider will always arrive to claim the carcass of the fallen. You can run, fight, call for help—anything—just be careful. Those spider bites are a pain…
Some people chose not to believe in the spiders that had attacked them at the Bootanical Gardens event. How did you explains all the damage, the bite, the scratches, and the webs all over the place though? Tsih was there, she knew what was real and what was not. It was odd how they had all escaped like that, even taking their fellow dead spiders with them. They were still out there though and Tsih wanted some payback. She hadn't been able to hurt them at the Gardens and had been weak without her ability to transform.
But tonight, she was on the hunt. Not as Bluebell, but as Tsih. She knew there were out there somewhere, so she was adventuring in some of the more wooded areas of town, maybe she could find where they were nesting. Of course she didn't want to take on all of them herself, but she figured she could make them at least less of a problem for the town. She didn't like the idea of them lurking in her City and praying on those that couldn't defend themselves. They had been lucky at the event, because the outnumbered the spiders the people had been able to scare them off. But, if they went hunting in the city at night, they'd have better luck.
"Here spider, spider, spider~" She called out from time to time as she wandered around. After what felt like ages, honestly she probably should have just gone home, eventually she heard a tree limb snap above her. She was quick to look up and see the eyes looking down on her. "Peek-a-boo!" It jumped down at her but she was quick to jump and roll out of the way. All those years of dance and gymnastics could come in handy out here. She picked up a decently strong broken stick, it must have snapped under the weight of the spider, and she smashed one of it's legs with it.
"I'm not some little pushover now, you nasty beast." The thing hissed and spit flew out, she was careful to avoid it this time, knowing that it would eat through her clothes and bother her skin. When it lunged at her again, she used it's weight to push her stick through one of it's eyes. Tsih actually laughed as it started to skitter away from her.
It wasn't alone though as one came to back up it's friend. "Glittering Pixie Dust!" She called out her magic and blew the pixie dust into it's eyes. She had to admit she wasn't sure it would work, but then it turned on it's weakened buddy and the city had one less spider to deal with permanently. She had some time to land a few hits on it was well, but it managed to get away before she could end it. When she looked, the body of the spider that had died was also missing.
Another spider didn't try to confront her after that though and she started to make her way back into the City. It was so strange that they seemed to be concerned about being massively discovered. Were they smart, giant spiders? She didn't like the thought of that at all. Well, she had gotten a little bit of revenge for what had happened the other night at least.
