The park no longer feels safe and if you wander too close you may feel hateful eyes upon you. You may even wind up chased out by a monstrous swamp monster, but if you try to approach him or interact otherwise, he seems to disappear. It’s probably best just to stay away from the park until the water dries up, just in case. Michiko had decided to go to the park to see the flowers and plants, to just relax things were rather strange in the city lately, she wondered if this was all like some sort of citywide prank, maybe the spiders were actually fake after all. Michiko was carrying an umbrella and wear a red and green raincoat this there had been a lot of rain lately. Still, the rain didn't bother her as she walked towards the park. Once she got there she stopped shocked to see the park she loved was now what looked like a swamp. Michiko stood at the edge of the area trying to figure how what to do. She wondered how deep the water was it couldn't be that deep right? She was wearing rain boots so maybe she could get a little farther. Michi wanted to check on her favorite plants in the park. She thought perhaps she should call the city or make flyers so a park clean up the plant life in the city was extremely important to Michi. Michko looked around the park that now appeared to have become a swamp. Out of the corner of her eye she thought she saw a ball of light she blinked and rubbed her eyes.

Now, as a Botany major at DCU, Benji was absolutely pissed at the state of affairs of the local park. What in the ******** happened here?! He trugged through some of the shallower parts of the newly swampified area, glaring at absolutely no sign of the original plantlife that lived here.
To him, it was all glaringly bad bullshit to see this happen. What sort of water main were they running under here for it to have burst as bad as it did to turn this place into a swamp of all things?! During his previous expeditions out here for field studies there were absolutely no signs that there would be anything more than dirt and shallow sprinklers in this particular location... Could that have been it? What kinda faulty a** sprinklers would burst and cause this much damage?!
As he glowered and stomped through what he knew was a pathway before, he noticed someone else was out there, another civilian he though, and he made his way closer to her, realizing she was prepared to walk through this muck too with her big ol rain boots.
"Oi! Do YOU know what happened here? I was here like, three days ago and now this place has gone to ******** s**t."

Michiko heard someone coming towards her and she turned to look to see who it was, she didn't know them but at least she wasn't alone. Michi shook her head "There has been a lot of rain but nothing to explain this and I thought I saw a light over there." Michiko gestured in the direction she had seen the small light. "Maybe there is someone else out there with a flashlight?" Michiko pondered. Then Michi turned to look at the person who had just arrived. "I'm Michiko." She said in a soft tone, Michi was still shy with new people. Michi looked back towards the swamp wondering what all was out there and how this had happened she felt like she should know something but it just wasn't clicking at the moment. "Do you want to go exploring with me?" She asked the other person in a soft tone, not making much eye contact since they had only just met and it was a forward question. More importantly, though Michiko didn't like going on adventures like this by herself so she felt better asking a stranger to go with her than she did trying to go it alone. Michi looked up at the new figure hopeful they would agree to go with her.

"A light... I wonder if it was the park warden or something. Whoever it was, if they work for the park they need to do their ******** job and not let the plants suffer from their incompetence!" If the drains were clogged for some reason, then yeah, that would have definitely caused the water to flood and was away all of the carefully laid down mulch and fertilizer.
"Are you sure you want to go exploring out there? I mean, for one, with all the strange s**t going on, I could be a crazy axe murderer looking to hide a body in the mud." His expression was more deadpan than threatening, and given his size and.. general small frame it was probably really hard to imagine him being any sort of threat, no matter how intimidating he often tried to be.
"For two... I swear I heard of a story that had teens following glowing lights in the forest or swamp or some s**t and then they died. I think it would be better off if we just go home. Can you make it back on your own?" While Benji wasn't exactly a friendly type, he didn't really mean to seem more unwelcoming than not. He had seen more than enough murdering and pain in the past few months, and if he could guide someone away from such a suspicious situation, well, he was gonna try.
"That person with the flashlight is probably prepared to be out here, more so than us since, you know, they have a flash light. Without gear we probably shouldn't go any further. Make sense?"

Michiko nodded "They do need to protect the plants, I love plants so much and care a great deal about the plants in the park. I have a garden in my backyard at home, but I can only grow some many things in the space we have." Michiko said softly "Oh I'm Michiko by the way." She said in a soft tone wondering if it was the warden of the park out there. She frowned at the ax murder comment and shivered. "Yea I've already seen some weird stuff lately, giant spiders, ghosts." She glanced over at the other person she hoped they wouldn't think she was being silly like Bluebell had thought. Michiko nodded it seemed they didn't want to go see if there was a monster in this mysterious swamp and Michiko agreed she didn't need to roll the dice yet again on her safety. "Yes thank you, and thank you for your advice I think I will take it and go home and get a cup of hot coco instead." Michiko said warmly. She didn't see it as harsh or mean, Michi figured that it made sense that she was just a teenager. She had done enough dangerous stuff this week anyways.

"Yup.. Sounds like your standard Destiny City bullshit..." Benji muttered softly, turning on his heel to move away from the swamp. Whatever was out there could stay the ******** out there.
"I'm Benji. Come on, let's go. I'll get cocoa with you at some cafe, just incase there is something freaky going on out there. Better to be in pairs than on your own. Then I can help you home before those spiders and tigers and ghost come out again to wreck s**t..."
He wasn't really about to let her say no either, even if he might have to drag her back to civilization.
