An old church you are familiar with and have seen many times has recently been closed due to fire damage. The area has been deemed too dangerous for anyone to enter, and yet you notice a strange gargoyle perched on the roof. It is large and imposing and you know it’s never been there before. If you try to climb up the building or if you leave the area and return, the gargoyle will have disappeared. You never see it move, but you know you saw it. Giant stone sculptures don’t just up and fly away…right? Whatever it is you saw, it’s gone now, but you might want to keep your eyes on the rooftops and pay attention when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
A soft whistle echoed in the alleyways that Chara traveled as he headed towards his normal patrolling area. His hands were shoved into the pockets of his poofy shorts, and his heels made a steady clack, clack, clack on the pavement below his feet. It would figure that the day he was in the best of moods was just a few days after his favorite perching point had burned down. The church was a wonderful place to go brood every now and then, given its isolation and general lack of people. Not many people seemed to believe in a ‘god’ these days, not when monsters roamed the streets and killed at random.
To Chara, however, it was a peaceful place, and he looked at it in almost sadness when he saw it’s charred and soggy remains. It wasn’t the biggest or fanciest of churches but it was nice, with an almost ancient feel to it, even though it wasn’t erected too too long ago. It seemed as if nothing had survived the fire… None of the insides anyway, but there was something strange and out of place there…
“The ********…?” This must have been some sort of prank or something. Chara knew there weren’t any gargoyles up there before the fire. This wasn’t some ******** gothic looking bullshit of a church, it was nice and brick and plain, so just what the ******** was going on? “I swear to god, it’s like people have no ******** respect for anything around here!”
Whatever it was, he was going to knock it the ******** down, and made his way over to kick down the remains of whatever gateway that had been there, letting a loud CRASH to resound in the alley. Whelp, him being here wasn’t a secret anymore.
