■ ADAPTABLECas doesn't like to dwell on the what if's of life or the "If I only" but rather just work with what he was given and either flourish or fail from that. Either way he would get a great lesson. ■ OPTIMISTICHe likes to see the brighter shinier side of life never liking to dwell much on the negatives or the cynicism. There was always a silver lining somewhere, it sometimes just took a little hard work to find it. ■ LAID BACKJust because he agreed that hard work paid off didn't mean he was always on the daily grind. He enjoys slow days of doing nothing but listening to his music playlists and maybe going on a walk with his dog. ■ DETERMINEDCas firmly believes in a hard work ethic especially if it was towards something he wanted desperately. So whenever there is a goal in sight he pushes towards it with all that he had. ■ GUILELESSDue to his optimistic nature he likes to believe the best in people which could sometimes lead for him to be taken advantage of. He would always say it was a life lesson and that he would learn from the last time but it seemed "last time" kept happening. ■ UNOBSERVANTTry "completely clueless at times." Whether it was a man on fire while he had his headphones on or a girl was blatantly flirting wearing nothing but a bit of string. Unless it was right in front of him in blaring neon lights, he didn't see it.

CHILDHOODCas, formally known as Casmir, had to say that his childhood was a tad abnormal. His mother, Vivien, had been in her early twenties when she had given birth to him while his father had been in his mid thirties. To people who didn't know them they would say they made an odd pair; this eccentric ballet student and an older more sophisticated business man. Of what business no one really knew. To those who actually knew them they couldn't stop gushing over how besotted his father was of his mother and how his mother, despite apparently hundreds of suitors lining around the block, only had eyes for his handsome enigmatic father. Once his fetus had been discovered they married quickly and once he was actually out in the world was they lived in blissful harmony for a nice few years until problems occurred. Not to say marital problems but more death problems. His father had been involved in a hit and run when he was only four years old killing him instantly and leaving the young boy fatherless and his mother a grieving widow.
His mother had put off her ballet in order to raise him while his father worked full-time but quickly hit the studio to get back in shape after her period of mourning. Vivien had refused to touch any of the insurance money she received in her husband's wake only using enough to cover funeral costs and not a cent more. Thankfully she had not only still been talented but also well connected that she garnered an audition with a well-known company and was accepted even with her extra baggage, namely her son. Cas, throughout his childhood, was dragged city to city with the touring troupe either attending a public school for the months they would be in that city or just homeschooled so that he wouldn't fall too behind his peers. While he very much loved his mother and his adoptive aunts and uncles of the company, he longed for what his friends and classmates had of stable traditional families where they stayed longer than just three and a half months.
Despite their rather nomadic lifestyle, Vivien always ensured she had time for her only son such as helping with homework, occasional home cooked meals (if a tossed salad really counted God would McDonald's really kill him and make his teeth fall out or was it just an urban myth) and of course teaching him to dance. Being surrounded by dancers nearly every hour of the day, it would've been impossible for him to avoid it. As he got older his passion for dance grew thankfully instead of dwindled and he began researching other forms of dance expression, some of his favorites being hip hop, expressive, and of course hiplet. His mother of course pressed the importance of traditional ballet but said nothing to discourage his other pursuits.
While preparing for a role in an upcoming performance of the 'Carnival of Animals' the strangest phenomenon happened. He was sent a letter entailing that he had a strong aptitude for magic and that he was eligible to attend one of the nearest Pre-Wiz schools. Of course he and his mother just assumed it was a prank and ignored the letters and thought nothing of them until he was nearly twelve and another came informing that he would need to contact the American Ministry before he could attend either American magical schools. The official seal at the bottom certainly caught their eyes so they hastened to contact the appropriate channels and to their immense surprise found that magic was actually real. He was given a tutor and studies endlessly until he could take the entrance exam for Salem and was given admittance for the following Fall. It was odd saying goodbye to his mother of all people, friends acquaintances he had gotten accustomed to but his mother was a whole different ballpark. In the end he promised to write and find a way off campus so that he could skype and snapchat his mother when he could.
SCHOOL YEARS
School was school no matter what was the end goal and even the brilliance of magic could stop that. Though Cas had to admit he rather enjoyed waking up in the same bed day after day after day even if it was to the monotony of school life. Wonderful blissful monotony. Once he had arrived there he had been sorted into the chameleon dorms where he met his first new magical friend, a boy with the largest retainer he had ever seen in his entire life, and was put quickly on the track of his magical schooling.
Due to him not attending a pre-wiz school he had been afraid that nearly everyone there would already know everyone and he'd be the odd man out, which was true in some cliques but not of the majority. He had been tickled pink to see that there were people from nearly every side of the country attending the same school so he got to meed the same different people only in a more stable (and by stable he meant that they didn't move not that they were actually stable since he blew up his potions classroom at least three times a month) environment.
Cas of course still practiced his dancing so that he wouldn't get rusty (and because he knew his mother was the absolute worst task driver on the face of the Earth) and while he enjoyed the thought of flying, he didn't really have that much grace in the air as he did on his two feet. So he happily cheered on for Quodpot and Quidditch from the relative safety of the bleachers. He studied hard, gained new friends, and was able to graduate not top his class but definitely in a good standing with absolutely no idea what he wanted to do next.
POST GRADUATIONAfter graduation, Cas met up with his mother's dance troupe and almost seamlessly blended back into the family taking on larger more intricate roles much to his mother's glee. She had retired his final year of school and had found a lovely home to occupy when not still touring with the company as a dance instructor and coach to the younger inexperienced dancers. He toured with them for about two years and while he enjoyed it he couldn't truthfully say it was a passion of his to be a worldly ballerina. Er, ballerino.
On one of their rare international tours, they traveled through a city in England and he had fallen in love with its charm and had even found a small rustic cottage. It was a bit of a fixer upper but he reveled in getting his hands dirty and building up his own home. His mother was of course devastated that not only was her only child moving to a different country away from her, but he was doing so not even to be with someone! Around the time of him finalizing his move, he reconnected with a friend from Salem who was also having a bit of trouble figuring out what to do next. He jokingly offered for her to join him but to his shock, and later consternation, she agreed stating that someone had to be sure no one took advantage of him. After promises to call or skype his mother daily, least she finally get her own home hooked up to the floo (she'd been threatening to do so since her discovery of it), Cas was given her blessing and moved on to his next great adventure.

■ DRAMATICWhen Gabby feels, she feels explosively. Meaning that anything at all can be quadrupled until infinity. An irritation could be the end of the world while a joy could be another Big Bang. ■ PERSUASIVEAs her dad once told her, she could sell honey to bees and have them coming back for more. Anything she wants to get or get done can happen with either some nice words or an even nicer smile. ■ BOLDIn both colors and personality, Gabby will back down from nothing and nobody. Be it bullies or a gator, she fears no thing on this Earth but the Fates. ■ LIVELYGabby loves to have fun and she especially loves to help people have fun in any situation. The term "life is for the living" is one she takes close to heart. ■ SUPERSTITIOUSSince growing up and hearing dozens of stories and then going into the magical world to hear dozens more, Gabby believe everything has a hidden meaning. She knocks on wood, prays over fallen salt, and hasn't carried a compact mirror in over three years. ■ COMBATIVENot to say she views every disagreement as a physical fight, but she will throw the first punch if prompted. Or if she thinks she's prompted. She's the first to have a war strategy and the first to tell someone about themselves if she views they're in the wrong.

CHILDHOODGabriella was born in the city of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana to a small yet extensive family. There were her parents, Roderick and Benita, her three uncles, and her grandmother Dassies, more commonly known as Granme Sissy. Breaux Bridge was known for its large carnivals and colorful foods and her family along with others gave motorboat tours and helped catch plenty fish, crab, and crawfish to supply to various restaurants. As the youngest and only child of the family she was, admittedly, spoiled rotten to the point where her feet very rarely touched the ground from so many people holding her the first few years of life. However once her legs did she was off and running, her favorite spots being the pecan trees for climbing and picking off large nuts for snacking on and taking her own small paddle boat out to lay in the sun and catch critters in the mossy woods beside their home. When she was old enough, her father and uncles allowed her to join on their fishing trips where she learned how to throw lines, clean and gut fish and shrimp, and even learn to catch crawfish with her bare hands without getting snapped. During this time she was home schooled by her mother who held the highest education in their family with a GED who tried to give her child her own love of reading and learning. Gabby enjoyed reading to an extent, but only if the sun wasn't out for longer than an hour. Her favorite thing to do however, was when the summer carnival came around and people from all over the South would come for their famous foods, she would go and see all the performances and acts, the most sought of them being a fortune teller with her own crystal ball. Her Granme had told her to never discount magic as a possibility and the idea of magic being able to tell the future baffled and amazed her. There had, of course, been stories passed down to her that some several great grandmother had been a Bayou witch or that they were descendants of powerful Witch Doctors from the Congo and Africa before being brought over to the States as slaves but she only believed them to be stories. At least until a letter and a representative came informing her that she had actual factual magic and could go to school for it. None of her family had been dubious to the claim having all known the stories and known about late Grandaddy's magic stick (that she later found out to be an actual wand, how cool was that!) though they were a little timid about the cost. Thankfully there was a magical primary just outside New Orleans that was tuition free and provided a lot of the basic supplies. For the school year she would go and board there and every weekend take a small portkey back home before doing the same back to school on Monday. This continued until she was twelve years old and another letter came informing her that it was time to further her magical education at Salem. Which was much much farther and much more expensive. For a while she thought of refusing thinking she had learned plenty but ever the philonoist, Gabby's mother encouraged her to accept and go. They got everything they could second hand while her scholarship helped cover stuff they couldn't and she then she was off.
SCHOOL YEARS
Gabby's school years started off on the wrong side of tumultuous...or the right side. Whatever. She was sorted into the coyote dorm and even after years of being introduced to the magical world she still held such awe and inspiration which was apparently cause for some light teasing. Then they started on her accent stating they couldn't understand her and even mocking how she sounded to her face. Last was her physical appearance; she hadn't thought there was anything odd about how she looked since in her family there were varied hues and shades of brown along with all the people in her community. Her red hair was of course a small oddity but really, she was but a small fish in an ocean compared to some of the brighter blondes, blues, and even lime green that populated around her. She hadn't thought it'd be any different but unfortunately it was. At first she tried to ignore it but after a few months she started to fight back. Literally. In her first two years she became something of a legend from her fights, mainly due to her wins. After speaking with multiple teachers and the principal she toned down the fighting, physically, instead turning to pranking any bullies that crossed hers or people she considered hers' paths. Finding out they actually had courses in talking with ghosts and Divination, subjects she'd only heard stories about, Gabby jumped headfirst into studying them. Unfortunately it was rather hard with Divination unless one was an actual seer, but the tarot cards she took a special liking to. She studied hard and managed to graduate from Salem with good grades and a great team of friends.
POST GRADUATIONAfter graduation, Gabby returned home to Breaux Bridge happy with her accomplishments and shining bright from the exclamations of her family. The only downside to it all was that she had no idea what she wanted to do with her open future. When she was younger, she had thought she'd join her dad and uncles on the boats helping with the fishing supplies, but her mother and grandmother would hear nothing of that. They encouraged her to use her skills to do something more worthwhile than simple fishing. So she left for New Orleans which offered a variety of small jobs both muggle and magical. While she was there she reunited with an old friend of hers from Salem, a dancer named Cas who was traveling through with his dance company. He informed her that he found a house in Britain, of all places!, and was looking to move there in the near future. Gabby told him her exact thoughts on the matter (that he was the biggest fool since the one who wondered why crabs had claws). Even though the invite had been in jest, she still invited herself to go along to ensure he wouldn't end up dead and floating in the Thames. Cas, reluctantly, agreed only because he knew he'd get lonely with no one but his dog as company. She still has no idea what she wants to do for her future, but she figures this new setting with help things along. Fate works in mystery ways after all.
