A new candy store is giving free promotional candy to try and attract new customers. At first, it’s delicious; it’s easily one of the best candies you’ve ever had. Only, within twenty four hours of eating your first piece, you begin to have extreme tooth pain that can last for up to a whole day. It feels like a cavity, but a trip to the dentist reveals nothing strange. It just hurts. While the pain eventually fades, you’ll remember how much it hurt. Is your drive for Halloween Candy dented or are you still gearing up for more?
Bernard would only admit to friends that he had one food weakness. It did not matter if it was cheap dollar store or gourmet but he could never resist one thing: chocolate. And he had been lucky enough to sample some from the new candy store that was giving them out. Luckily they didn't seem bothered by a kitty swindling a bit of candy away from them, even if it was no loss.
He looked at the pieces that he had managed to get and wondered which one he should try first as he sat outside of the shop on the sidewalk, away from the large line of people. He had about 10 pieces, him being large he could easily have held more but decided to pace himself. After all, he was promised a gourmet chicken dinner later that night.
He batted them around as he looked at the wrappers and what they said on them, before trying a piece that was supposed to be chocolate with caramel inside. It was good... but it wasn't amazing like he had expected. Curious, for a shop wanting to give out free samples, one would think it would be amazing but this... is just average. They probably fall under the other category of 'free samples': samples no one would be willing to try otherwise. He thought as he made a bit of a face before looking at the rest of the candy to see what else he would like to try next.
