Perhaps you remember the flock of bats that swarmed down on Destiny City last year; if you’re lucky, this is your first time being attacked by one. Thankfully it seems like a lone bat has made its way out of whatever cave they’ve moved from, but this thing is giant. It has a six foot wingspan. Does the bat fly away without harassing you? Do you fight it? If it scratches you, you walk away fine, but if it bites you then you can expect a rough time. Being bitten by these bats leaves two small marks that will itch for a few hours. Then, exhaustion and fatigue sets in and you become extremely sensitive to external stimulus; skin feels like it becomes overheated in sunlight, bright lights are painful to the eyes, and smells and sounds can seem overwhelming. The victim will feel constantly cold and hungry, no matter how much they eat or drink. They may also be prone to agitation and bouts of violence. These afflictions may last only a few hours or a few days and then suddenly disappear. It was a nice evening to bring Cara some treats. Ally was carrying two bags -- one was stocked with home made puppy and dog treats for the shelter dogs she worked with, one contained treats for Cara and anyone she knew -- fresh and hot, Ally knew her mom had helped make sure they'd be delicious. Couple with Kaida coming to bring things -- her biological cousin she hadn't seen since god made creation? Well that made Ally dress extra-dapper. Cara may have known the woman had a flair for the gothic, but Kaida didn't and seeing if her dear cousin remained a sassy-a** creature of the night or had turned into some fainting violet of the social elite? Well that was important because if she was the latter, Ally was going to tease the hell out of her for it. While looking like Bela Lugosi this season would have been choice, Ally felt like mixing her clothes that day, wearing a small, feminine, black tophat, a nice, big warm trench coat, nice victorian styled pants in dark violet, and comfy shoes. She almost even brought a walking cane, but there was dapper, and then there was hella dapper. Dapper sufficed, and she was about to greet Cara at their meeting spot when it happened. "Squeak." Ally blinked, and tried ignoring it to wave. "Hey Cara! My cousin's coming with more stuff so ity'll be a--" " SQUEAK." Ally paused mid-greeting, and lookined up to spy a large bat, much like thosae at the festival last year, swooping towards them, and she blinked, ducking to the side before blinking. "-Gonna be a minute I wonder if I can catch that sucker!" Why?.... Well maybe Sandalwood could help her tame it. That cat was good for instilling respect (or terror), right? Besides. Pet Batty. She could name him Squeakers.

For her part, Cara was dressed... reasonably warmly, if not as fashionably as she'd like. She was still trying to pocket any money she could earn and save toward getting a dog someday, which meant when she did have to buy clothes, she bought cheap. So unfortunately, her fancy attire of the evening was just a Goodwill-purchased sweater and jeans, and sneakers. Not that she was complaining much - they were at least clean and whole, and sometimes that was really all you could ask for. "Hey," she greeted Ally, who looked far more dressed up than was necessary for a casual meet-up... and then blinked when she heard the squeaking. "Damn, that's a big bat." Pale eyes narrowed up at it as she dodged, small hands already tightening into fists as she growled. "You want to catch that thing? It wants to eat our faces!"

Kaida hated the cold. She hated it with a passion. She loved fall fashions, and Halloween, and All That Was Punky and Spoopy, but did it have to be so damned cold? At least, considering her fashion-sense, she had appropriate clothes unpacked despite the heatwave, and was nice and warm. [The wonder tights and knee-high boots did when your skirts didn't tend to be long.] She adjusted the bag over her shoulder, trudging along until she reached the place she was meeting up with her cousin and her cousin's friend at.
"Ally! Just so you know, it is too da-......what the ******** is that?" She stared openly at the giant bat, her metaphorical hackles up. Was it a youma? Good god, she hoped it wasn't a youma. She didn't need to deal with her fuku when it was cold out.

"Trust me, he won't last meeting the twin bitchkitties of my place.: Ally said, waving to Kaida. Her eyes, however, were locked on the bat, and she soon swept her coat off and damned the cold, trying to catch thje bat in it rapidly. The bat, seeing three tasty people, however, had none of it, seeming to mock her by darting aside-- and launching for Cara rapidfly with multiple squeaks. Ally hissed. "DAMNIT! GET OVER HERE!" ...OK, maybe she was hyperfocused. "I SWEAR. These things ruined the autumn festival last year and I WILL GET MY VENGEANCE BY MASTERING THE LITTLE BUGGER!" Especially given how they were UNPLEASANT last time. VENGEANCE WAS HERS.

"It's a giant face-eating bat is what it is!" Cara called out, swinging a fist at the bat's fuzzy body to try to strike it off of her. "Don't let it bite you, is regular bats can carry rabies we don't wanna know what this hellbat could give you!" She growled at the bat, focusing only on the fight in front of her and strangely thankful for it, since it meant not having to feel awkward and third-wheel with the two cousins meeting up. "Nobody's catching the fuzzball, it needs to get the hell away from us!" What - what as Ally even on that she thought she could catch and contain a giant bat? Wasn't it more likely to be some weird kind of youma than somebody's future cuddlebuddy?!?

"Ally, you are not trying to catch that thing are you?!" Kaida put the bags of treats she'd brought down, and hefted her personal bag. "We should be getting elsewhere or hitting the thing, not trying to catch it! And then we call animal control!" So it didn't seem to be a youma, that was a good sign...sort of. Not really. It just meant it was something else big and crazy and....very cryptid. Oh good gods, what if they'd found a cryptid?!

"But I need a pet bat!" Ally whined. "I need him for my holy followers of the Heaven's Ward! Squeakers camn smite the wicked!" She pouted, and then dodged as the bat dove, trying to bite. Bite, screech, and... OK maybe it wasn't a good idea to keep this one. This bat -- she didn't forget how easily the bats had ruined her mother's booth at the autumn festival, nor the horror and panic the bats caused.... Or the fact, hey, TV. Ally rubbed her nose, dancing around the bat idly before looking to Cara. "Yanno, these buggers got me on TV last ye--" And the bat lunged to claw in frustration, and Ally tucked and rolled. "ALRIGHTYOULITTLE SHITI'M DONE." So Squeakers wasn't THIS bat. So this bat was getting a curbstomp.

"You do not need a damn pet bat!" Cara shouted, scowling at both bat and (absolutely crazy) friend. "Let alone one that's as big as we are!" She shrieked, dodging the giant bat and trying to beckon Kaida over. "C'mon, we can probably take it on easier if we're all in one place - it won't be going between us that way." And if it dove at one of them, that person could just duck and she could punch the hell out of it! "And why d'you wanna call it Squeakers, anyway?" She asked, growling out the question as she ducked behind a streetlight and squinted up at the giant shadowy creature. "Squeakers is a shitty name for something that looks like it was born out of a monster movie," she added, scowling. "Call it Fangs or Blooducker or somethin' cool!" Drawing a breath, she jumped at the creature as it took another dive at Ally, trying to punch it and drive it off. "Get the hell outta here, fuzzball! We don't want to join the creature of the night club! If you're a vampire you're the dumbest vampire I've ever seen!" Really. What kind of vampire took on people that wanted to make a pet out of it? If it was a vampire. If it really was just an overgrown, dumb bat... that was even worse. What kind of animal was dumb enough to attack three people at once, especially when one of them wanted to take it home and name it Squeakers?

"Ally, I swear to ******** I will call Alex if you don-" Okay, well that solved it. "Alright, let's just get this thing away from us, and call animal control. They'll take care of it and keep it from terrorizing other folks." She was freaking out at Abby later, though. And Matt. They could appreciate a good scream about cryptids. She took a swing at it with her bag, a little sad she didn't have that little boost being a senshi gave her here. It would be really useful.
But she couldn't very well henshin in front of her cousin and a stranger! She'd never hear the end of it! At best! "Get out of here, fuzzball! You are not welcome here!"
