This is a class dedicated to non-English speakers to help them better their English skills. It is different from the English Language class, as it focuses on basic conversation leading to more detailed skills. It does not focus on the ability to teach the language, and the English Language class centers around a more strict and straight-forward teaching method. ESL is a class that merely gets students on a starting path, to allow them basic communication. This is often a starting point for students who cannot speak English yet, but want to take English Language as a class at a later time.
