Wren landed at the provided coordinates, and lowered her headphones as her systems switched from aerial transit to civilian mode, looking up in a crop top (She wasn't sure about baring her stomach but Omega fussed any time she tried changing her civvies before leaving, so, she stopped trying), black jeans, and knee high 'b***h boots' as she considered where she was about to go.

In the center of the capital, standing over all the other buildings, was a tower. It was a gorgeous building, and it seemed down town had skyscrapers close in size, but nothing was as tall, and Omega had insisted on a foot approach from the landing coordinates 'for reasons'. Of course for reasons, she supposed-- last 'for re3asons' had left her Aunt and Uncle rushed out of Omega's country for treatment for starvation - their plants nearly breaking meant Nic and Flynn had gone with. Now Wren was catching up, and so she entered the city, turning Metallica back up to take the public transit system. She may have been told 'on foot' and 'no flying' but nobody mentioned transit, and she was happy to listen to Enter Sandman and other delicious metal tunes before she was downtown, and walking.

After some time, finally, finally at last she was able to enter the lobby of the tower in the capital, approaching the Master at the front desk as she shouldered her duffle bag anxiously. Turning off her music and taking her headphones off, anxious blue eyes swallowed as she spoke in an uncertain tone.

"I'm here to see Dr. Wily?"

Oh it was OPDD to say.

Wren's earliest memories of her father were few. He's suffered cancer from one too many self experiments, and it finally had left him bedridden and frail after his magnum opus; his triplets. Wren remembered their lessons at their uncle's side, and at his bedside, too-thin face and large gray eyes full of love for them all, and promising to look after her family the final day of his life, holding his hand as those loving grey eyes closed.

It hurt, being raised by her uncle after. Her siblings and she were blamed often for the wats as they bore the surname Wily compared to their cousins' Light. But learning her father hadn't died here, instead losing her aunt and uncle to old age instead of them accepting plants... To learning he only had sisters and a Stardroid of all things...

She was intimidated hearing what his territory was like, moreso arriving. Meeting him? Terror, even with Nic and Flynn reporting well, even getting better.

Then again, she refused to abandon her cousins to work alone. She'd promised, after all, but now her work was done, and her hands needed rest... So Omega claimed was the Doctor's will.

A man whom had ascended manhood to that of Starhood.

And Wren looked down. She felt so very plain and uninteresting. Mousy brown curls were in a high ponytail, her crop top was a metal band, and she felt plain. Surely he'd change his mind of claiming her as family too, right?

She was very careful to block Nic and Flynn from her worries, but didn't bother blocking the onslaught of curious Tower robots that seemed to flood at once with inquiries and she chuckled.

"...And it sounds like the robots here are a nosy lot.
" She murmured to herself, and turned to the elevator to wait.

Of all the things to happen in his long, lonely life, Albert Wily knew that meeting an alternate dimension's version of his lost daughter had never been on the list of things he could have expected. (Not that finding out there was a world where Tom and Emily had lived instead of passing after too few years and too much heartache hadn't been a surprise in and of itself, mind.) The boys had been easy enough to adjust to - Nic kept to himself when he wasn't working, and Flynn had his own young family to tend to, so there hadn't been much call for him tobother them.

And... really, he didn't want to. He wasn't the man who had created them, for all he knew that he had once been very similar. He wasn't their father, he wasn't their Albert Lucian Wily. No more than he was to the girl that was coming the girl who, according to reports, was not identical to the project he had failed to complete, but similar enough that there could be no doubt she was meant to be the same person.

It was better not to poke at old wounds on either side, especially when he was no longer human - not even an altered human. To that end, he'd been careful not to approach the alternate Tomo and Emily while they were awake, too frightened of what could occur. He knew his kin wasn't pleased about that, but... well, just this once Terra could cope. He wasn't risking that hurt.

.... Though apparently it did seem that this hurt, he could no longer avoid. Grumbling inwardly as he received the comm - and swiftly reprimanding all of the listening frequencies to kindly butt out, he informed the secretary to send her up. That done, he dropped into his office chair and buried his face in his hands. And shook.

I think Wren got spooped.

Wren nodded to the secretary and carried her bag to go up, but the sudden disappearance of most frequencies gave her pause -- and the elevator closed before she could make up an excuse to run. Her family was safe, right? Her job was done and she didn't want to intrude. But now she was riding up the elevator, and the bridge was beginning to bolster the block to her siblings to begin to fall into a hysterical fit. She was scared, she was intruding she knew it so why, why had his representative requested her?

No, no she knew about the failed project from the Stardroid who checked in too often, and the girl shook, trying not to cry.

Terra sighed at Albert's order, and ignored it after a moment, sending his kin a sharp warning. The Stardroid had told Albert stories of them for years -- reassured him, worked to restore his kin's family, and this was... Going badly. Already. The Stardroid entered the office brisky, eyes flashing as he leaned over the stardroid even as he sent Shadow word his kin was not only there, at last, but Albert was being silly, and his reactions had SCARED the baby-- something he was about to address.

"She was fine with them, Albert." Terra drawled, without greeting. His tone was patient, and the stardroid rubbed his back. "You scared her more calling them off."

Terra motioned, sighing as he touched Albert's back gently.

"It's going to be alright, Albert. She's barely met your mirror. Just breathe and be gentle."

A pause.

"She's as much an orphan as he brothers, Albert. And she's had to be an adult too long. She needs you, much more than you know."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 16, 2017 8:14 pm

Albert flinched as he was informed of what his attempt to cease frightening his alternate's daughter had resulted in, shoulders shaking as he leaned into Terra and sought what comfort he could. He shook his head slightly, forcing back the tears that wanted to spill over his cheeks. "... She needs her father, not... not someone who couldn't manage to create her in the first place."

It wasn't that he would ever begrudge Roll and her spouse their new baby; but... it hurt, that he hadn't been able to finish his Wren. Would never be able to. The only reason he was still here now was because of the stardroids; because of Terra's stubborn refusal to give up on him. And this Wren was grown up enough that her brother had a child of his own. Surely she didn't - couldn't need him, when he had been unable to be a father to his own Wren.

Meanwhile, Shadow received his message and melded into the shadows and through the building, arriving at the elevator just as the doors opened. He didn't hesitate long enough for the girl to process his presence - he moved swiftly and scooped her into his arms, singing of the love and longing he had for her after being unable to locate her in this world.

"She abslutely doies." Terra said, voice soft as he rocked His lovingly. "Becaue her father died before she was mentally grown. Albert.. She's had to be an adult because you Saw this place. I did the analysis. Sunstar helped -- dear, she wasn't born here because things were going sour where it counts. Sunstar looked. She's yours now. And before you keep arguing even Tom knows damn well there's been a multiversal irregularity because I showed him a still because he went histrionic and he still knows you Albert. You need to breath, remember. I know you can remember. We all do." Terra soothed,m rocking his kin.

"And she needs your love."

Wren was startled by the sudden affection, but the love was highly appreciated. It was warm and nice, and she hugged Shadow slowly. Now she had someone nearby, likely an escort, and she swallowed, holding his arm before nodding absently. He felt safe and nice, and she nuzzled faintly, but she was still stressed, making a stressed noise. What was going on? Why did the signals vanish? Was she a bad person? Had she somehow offended them?"

Maybe she should come back later? She could fly, that was a good idea. She wanted to meet Albert, really, but... But...

And she swallowed. She had to be a grown up. She had to be good, and adult.

And she didn't want to adult. She'd been adult almost all her life!

"She knew a version of me that was braver than I am," Albert said quietly, leaning on his kin and trying very hard not to fall into anxious sobbing. "Perhaps not for long, but... the things they've endured, and are still enduring... they're still enduring, Terra, whereas I..." He had fallen apart; he had broken, and even being fully adopted by the Stardroids hadn't made him whole.

Didn't his baby- the one he had failed so horribly - deserve better? Didn't they all?

Shadow chirped, a soothing sound for a distraught baby - though she wasn't a baby, there was something about her that spoke to her needing such reassurances. The way she kept looking around, as if scanning for an exit, a window told him she was just about ready to bolt, and combined with his creator's warnings....

"I'm sorry about Dr. Wily," he said, and wrapped an arm about her shoulders gently. "He thought they were overwhelming you, and ordered them off. I don't believe he intended to scare you further."

"Tom might kill me if I took him from you." Terra soothed. "They do want you. Not a replacement- You. Same heart, same soul, and a fresh life. And now you, in this life, can be a good father."

Terra rocked him, letting his hair. He picked Shadows feeds idly, praising the ninja before earning him to be alert, and nuzzles Albert.

"A daddy, who can play with his daughter. Who can give her the parent she needs. Your mirror put so much on her Albert. As a new build. Eight months is hardly time to have a father, let alone have to be the breadwinner. She was barely a child. You can help Albert. You'rYou're the only one who can. And she's outside so afraid her kin can't calm her. Afraid you won't want to live her and just see an intruder. I know you, mine. It's safe. Trust your heart. Bring her home to nest and rest."

Wren clung, still shaking.

"But I don't mind. They weren't mean bedoesntwantmedoesheicango."

And Wren began to hyperventilate, pressing close to cry in the nice Master offering comfort as suddenly years of tired, loneliness, and hurt flooded out. Of course he didn't want her-- even his mirror died to flee. Her mind lapsed to the old, unproven but frequent thought, and Wren wailed in Shadow a CRY of desolation, pleading to make it better.

Albert shook, but bowed his head and nodded."I...I don't want her to be unhappy," he said, stumbling over his words in a way he would never allow himself to do in public. "I only - she deserves better..." He would have said more, but the office door chimed, and he knew there was no time left to protest or try to hide.

Shadow let Wren babble for a moment, then sighed and decided to speed things along before scooping her up into his arms properly. "I assure you, he wants you very much. He's always had a hole in his life that was shaped just like you - you're the only one who can help him fill it." He accompanied his words with a gentle chirp and a cuddle, before ringing the office's chime and stepping inside, carrying the crying bundle of curls to Albert and Terra.

"I think," he said quietly, looking from one tearful mop of curly hair to the other, and then at Terra, "we should just take them both to a nest and keep them there together."

"Better is you." Terra sighed. The chime was a welcome sound, a sound assuring him all would be well, and he sighed.

"Truly, Shadow. They both need it. I can fish Albert's nesting materials out, but I don't have any for her." Terra cautioned. However, Albert was his people, and he knew Albert needed his instincts budged. The Stardroid brought the weeping man close to Wren, warbling to his kin softly.

"Wait here, Albert." Terra cooed, and quickly fled to fetch the material needed.

Wren sobbed in Shadow still through things, almost trying to hide until Albert was brought close.

The bridge still cried, feeling intrusive, even debating disappearing, but this mirror!

He looked like Terra, or Sunstar, but the eyes.

Stardroid modified, weeping, healthy, they were so familiar Wren reached for Albert, crying anew and APOLOGIZING. Apologies for failing, and for being such a poor child he wanted to die to escape, the bottled and suppressed new build feelings finally exploding.

Albert made a warbling, frightened noise, but there was a baby here, one that registered as his and she was crying, so he clung and rocked her, whispering apologies of his own; apologies to both her and the daughter he'd lost, for not being able to give his baby life, for not being able to be there for one who needed him for anything and everything.

Shadow remained nearby, but didn't dare interrupt their bonding. He did, however, take off his scarf and wrap it over Wren's shoulders, offering her something to hide in and snuggle with, so that she would have something in the nest they would be retiring to soon.

Really, these two were just alike.

Wren pressed in, begging forgiveness and crying several moments before sniffling, clutching to AlberAlbert for comfort. She was no longer a newbuild, but despite being grown, he registered as far older, and the rocking brought the REPRESSED child out, slowly beginning to suck her thumb and CLING as she peered up with SAD blue eyes, before removing her thumb again.

"You look like Terra or Sunstar." She observed, voice quiet, but clearly amazed.

"That's cool."

And then Terra returned, preparing Albert's materials for nesting as he warned. Terra could fetch supplies for Shadow to include in a nest for his, but right now Terra was NESTING THEM-- though the girl's wonder calmed Terra, the Stardroid longing smugness to Albert. He was so striking his baby was admiring it. No need to hide now.

"They adopted me," Albert said, surprised he could speak without sobbing - and relatively clearly at that. He still felt weak and ill and frightened, but this was... This was his baby, enormous blue eyes and all. It was something he almost didn't dare believe, that she was here when he had already lost her once.

"I love you," he whispered, and if he sobbed while speaking, he didn't care. No-one would judge him for it now.

Shadow stood by, close but not too much so, and kept watch until Terra returned. He saluted the stardroid, then glanced around idly. This was no place for a good nest...

"Oh. We're you sick?" Wren cuddled, asking with the bluntness of one too used to cutting to the point as she continued looking him over curiously. Terra had tried explaining his race, but did she understand? Not a tic-- She didn't get all of it and she poked Albert gently in curiosity every so often, then blinked.

"...promise?" She didn't want alone again. Her cousins, aunt, and uncle were good, but not immediate family. Only Mix and Flynn... And Nic was often doing projeprojects. Flynn had been nice, but Rosie and her brother, before he vanished, took his time, as well they should.

Dating KITTY and Dynamo was wonderful, but the loss of a parenparent so young... There was a void, one she was slowly exposing.

No, not a good nest, but Albert had work, and this sufficed, Terra noted. They were calming, getting to know one another, and Terra rubbed his son's back. Albert's family was still mending, and Albert owes the others visits soon- and Tom was likely to find Albert and CLING soon. When Albert was with others, why, Shadow needed to bond and begin teaching his kin.

Terra tried teaching. It went so poorly Sunstar laughed and practically decided she was still a baby. He knew how that likely went.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 17, 2017 1:11 pm

"I was.... alone," Albert said quietly, not wanting to give her all of the details. Adult she may be but right now she was acting - and from all he could tell, feeling, like the child she had probably been when she had lost her version of him. "I've never done well alone." And losing her, though he wouldn't and couldn't say as much, had been simply too much.

... He hoped she'd want him, still. They were both touched by loss and aching from it, surely... surely this could help?

"I promise," he added, and tugged her to him in a hug, burying his face in her curls. Not his baby, but still his baby, and it was so confusing but so needed...

Shadow wanted to hug Wren too - she was his kin, and he'd barely had the chance to speak with her yet. But... his time would come. It would. Eventually.

Wren didn't need elaboration -- she'd seen her uncle and the bridge all too happily buried in her father-not father-yes. Daddy, this was a daddy, this was something he'd have wanted her to have. Him, where he could care for her and not put horrible awful terrible burdens on her, her code screamed -- likely, a protection line or two to ensure fate was satisfied properly by things. Regardless, Wren all too happily nuzzled into soft, froth-green curls and every muscle finally unclenched after years - years working as a Hunter consultant, as a Hunter, as provider to her family-- the tension had clearly built and stayed, and if the amount of joints popping to relax was a clue, she was like to ache. She didn't care, instead just clutching on tightly.

"I want Daddy." She said, voice muffled. "My daddy. You're my daddy. Mine. Mine mine please don't leave again, please? I tried to take care of them, Idid, but I couldn't and you saw them and--"

And she began sobbing again.

Terra understood, he did. He internally chided Albert for hiding, but it was half hearted and understanding-- and then the baby was wailing again and he sighedc.

"Shadow, darling. Guest closets. Albert may add to it later."

Slowly, gently, and soon petting his kin to show no harm meant (he did NOT want bitten. Kin or not he knew Stardroids were fiercely territorial of babies and young), Terra crooned soothingly.

"Shadow's bringing some things from the guest closets now, Albert." Terra soothed gently. "Kin-family nesting sound nice?"
