For a long time, he burnt. Every system, every feeling was burning pain. And sometimes pain was replaced by torture/ Alpha was a merciless beast, who tortured his best (boy?)friend. Who forced Draco to remain male even when being male was sickening. Alpha abused, made him see all the death he wrought, and even forced him out to exacerbate flare-ups of illness, to.... Draco was, in the end, scarred and tired and the constant pain and torture lead the first of all reploids' code to sink, deeper and deeper into the beast's freshly claimed body, until it was too much. He'd felt Altair, and taking a moment, had sent his person a pained apology -- and a goodbvye. Surely, he lay dying. Surely the growing black was it. And then he woke to fresh air in his chest. Draco shot upright with a gasp, gulping for air like a starving man before rubbing his chest, wincing, and unconciously adjusting coding to a more comfortable figure. It felt so much better, to be free of that body, to... Wait, free. Draco touched her face, and blinked, gasping a frightened gasp before hudding in her blankets. She was alive? How? When? Was Alpha cxoming back? Rapidly, a sound of distress began rising in her throat, and Draco began to cry in fear, shrill, yet delicate sound of panic emerging from her. She wanted safe, and safe now.

Altair had been sleeping rather soundly, curled up close to where Draco, in their new chassis was recovering and adjusting. Somehow, the Zero model had managed to regain enough fight from that one, fleeting grasp for help to break free, and thanks to some useful help from... people he didn't know well, for all that Omega seemed fixated on them, had managed to... ... well, in truth he didn't quite remember. Which was just fine with him, because he'd been in a near-death state for a long time now, and had little reason to want to remember all the suffering that he and everyone he cared about had endured. So he didn't, and wasn't, and he and Draco had enough healing to do without worrying about little details that weren't worth remembering. He'd taken to resting by Draco as much as possible as his auto-repairs healed him - it was a slow process, given the world's limited resources and his own stubborn refusal to supplement his systems, but it just meant he could guard poor Draco as he healed. So when the sleeping X awoke in a blind panic, Altair was quickly stirred and rolled over, taking one of the panicking brunette's hands in his. "Hey," he said, the words coming with difficulty around a still-repairing throat. "It's okay. Safe.... we're... we're safe."

Draco cheeped ditress at first. She cheeped, crying and shoving her fingers in her mouth to bite and chew, before diving to bury in Altair before she began wailing. She was ever so confused, but.. But Zero was here? Zero, not the male Alpha told him wanted to drain every scrap of code that made him, him (or her) and he was okay? Unsavaged? Draco needed the assurance. She needed it desperately, and in a voice that was a whisper-soft tone from screaming, she swallowed and spoke, trembling even as she pressed in. "Z..Ze...Zero..?" If not, well, please kill me quickly was wruitten on her face. Then -- then she'd see her hero again.

Altair felt his core split in two (all over again) when X threw herself at him, trembling in fright and exhaustion. Even so, he couldn't help being slightly afraid of the action, too used to being pinned down and trapped at Alpha's mercy. Swallowing, he wrapped his arms around his oldest friend, his... his person, and pressed what he hoped was a reassuring kiss into Draco's hair. "It's me." Not Omega - Omega who was terrifying and cruel to anyone outside of his protection, but oddly regal to those within it. Regal.... but just as terrifying, and X was in no state to know he was around somewhere. Not with all the things Alpha had said. "Promise." He fell quiet for a moment, before taking X's chin in his fingers to gently get the smaller reploid to look up at him. "You're safe." And somehow, impossibly, alive and free.

Draco relaxed, and buried against Altair, fear melting into upmost trust at spying her oldest, dearest friend alive and free of the terrifying red eyes of the predator that qanted to cannibalize him -- moreso, that he was free. Free, in a safe body... A safe place... And Draco sighed, finally beginning to ettle as she looked to Altair, all eyes and releif and love. "He burnt." Draco said. It was important -- he didn't want to hide the pain, what Alpha did. Alpha was TERRIBLE. "But made me feel what he did too. He.." And Draco shuddered, the female keening.

Altair listened, letting Draco vent and explain, knowing full well that the poison needed to come out, and wanting only for his dearest friend to heal. X ha been hurt more than anyone else had, after all, and deserved the chance to heal and get better. The same, he was afraid to admit, couldn't really be said of him. Oh, no, Alpha hadn't been in his head, and yes he'd been a victim of the insane being's torment, but. ... It was his fault he'd even managed to take root in poor Draco's mind. "It's over," he said softly, and looked away, thinking of all the lives lost, all the death poor X, who never wanted to hurt anyone, had been forced to witness. "It's over. I... promise."

"He's dead?" Draco whined. The little blue girl shook, looking at her hands before keening, biting at them in a mix of anxiety and punishment. She wanted the scared to go, but all it did was tewll her Alpha's birth was her fault. The dying was her fault. She was going to be as awful now she was free -- after all... Alpha was of HER mind, and what did it say if she buirthed the apocalypse? And Draco screamed, scrabbling at her chest. "My fault. My fault Zero please please don't let me do it again please please please..." "

It hurt to move this quickly, but Altair didn't care - Zero scooped X up against him and clutched the panicking reploid tightly to him, trying to shield her from the world - and from her own terrible memories. "You won't," he said, speaking forcefully enough that it twisted something in his still repairing throat and made him cough. "Promise. You won't. You're... you. Not alpha. Safe. Promise. Promise..." How could he make her see that it was going to be alright now? (Especially when he wasn't sure that he believed it, himself...?)

Draco wailed several minutes, noticing the cough - her fault - and the female buried, wailing. She felt like Alpha, she had been drowning so long in the dark of the monster it was hard to see freedom, and the good, but finally she cried herself out, sagging in Altair's arms exhaustedly. She wasn't feeling an urge to eat him - to feed, but she did hear the common, plain growl of hunger, and the female squeaked, startled as she turned wide eyes questioningly to Altair. "Uhm.. Uhm... Uhm... It grumbled."

Altair let Draco cry, too tired to do anything but hold the distraught X and let her weep herself out while he had her. When she seemed to settle, he nodded and sighed, rubbing his throat. "...Had something... brought up earlier." It wasn't much, but... there wasn't much to go around in this world, let alone for those with designs like his and X's. He was more than a little underfed himself, especially for someone trying to auto-repair from ... enough injuries that he wasn't going to think about it right now, but eating hurt, so... more for X. That was better, anyway. Draco needed it.

Draco nodded, the girl looking down before rubbing Altair's arm, eyes sad. She wanted him to eat as well, and the petit girl nosed to him hopefully. She was naughty anyhow, the girl reaching for Altair's throat to rub it guiltily. Upset had made him hurt more, and the female was sad as she rubbed his throat softly, eyes full of sadness as she tried soothing him. "I'm sorry..."

Zero sighed and shook his head, nudging the plate toward Draco with a grin. "...Eat. Real food," he said, though he couldn't shake the sadness in his eyes knowing what Alpha had made his oldest friend suffer. "Please?"He wold heal with time. But X ... well. he worried. ... Actually, worried wasn't a strong enough word. He was terrified.

"Share?" X offered. Still, the gynoid was examining the plate, uncomfortably removing meats and nibbling vegetables. There was once a time she'd not mind meat -- but the sight was too familiar, too much like other sights for her, and she shook, nibbling a particulkarly tasty looking asparagus as she nudged it towards Zero, shaking her head. She couldn't touch the meat. Not yet.

Altair shook his head, but did scoop any meaty bits off of the plate and wrapped them in a napkin for disposal. "Not... not hungry," he explained, and settled to watch Draco. He was worried about the gynoid in front of him, worried and frightened. X had been more aware of what Alpha did than he had thought she was, and to someone with such a gentle nature as Draco it... well. He worried. ... And maybe it was a little selfish, but worrying about Draco was far easier than admitting he was more than a little broken, himself.

With the meat gone, X felt safe eating, though she didn't feel hunger enough to finish. After sating herself, Draco instead lay against Altair to rest, trembling. She knew her couldn't be in good shape, and worrying meant no thoughts of what Alpha did to others. Rather, it helped her forget, and she nuzzles Altair, making a small fussy noise.
