Physical Description: Varinia is a fairly average height girl, around 5'4". She has a medium skin tone and freckles that cover most of her body. She has wavy, deep red hair that she keeps pulled back away from her face at all times and plated when working. Light green eyes compliment her hair and some could say they're a tad too far apart.
Personality: Varinia has led a rather mundane life so far. She was born to a bronze rider and a kitchen drudge, so what she grew up was sort of predetermined in her eyes as a child. She didn't like the fact that she had to think that, she was determined to become something more. Not that she looked down on her mother for her position, it was more that she saw how hard her mother worked and ended up dying an early death due to an accident. It spurred her to want to get out of the kitchen, at least until she got older. It also instilled in her a sort of protective nature for the other children who were in positions similar to her. She would often take the fall for someone elses mistake if only to take their punishment and spare them. That is, if it was an honest mistake. She's intelligent enough to calculate everything and make appropriate actions. Therefore, she tends to be a little bit of a liar but only when she sees no other way out. A small white lie here to get soandso out of trouble, nono they were definitely not there. In this way, she is very reliable to the people she's loyal to and with her job. There is a part of her, and will always be a part of her, that will worry that everyone will leave her. Although it wasn't her mother's choice to leave her, she still did. Not knowing her father also plays a part in this. It'll leave her feeling insecure at times, not that she would let people know about that.

History: Varinia was born of flightlust between a bronzerider and kitchen drudge. Mina, her mother, wouldn't outright say she regretted that night as it gave her Varinia, but she would never talk about Varinia's father. Internally, Vari yearned to know about her father but her mother was imovable on that front. On others, not so much. She would always take extra duties in the kitchen so that Varinia could play outside or spend time with other children. It was during such a time that she had an accident and the healers were unable to save her. So Varinia's days in the sun ended and soon she began her duties in the kitchen once more. It was soon obvious that she had a knack for baking and so was sent to work specifically with the bakers. Vari seemed to know just how much to knead or how to change the recipe to compensate for different atmospheric conditions. She thought it was much more fun to bake things than other kitchen chores. One time in her 17th turn, she was asked to help carry sacks of flour to the kitchens which was when she was searched. Thinking she would finally have a chance at something greater than kitchen work (and maybe an opportunity to try and figure out who her father was) she accepted. While she enjoys being a candidate and can't wait to stand and hopefully impress, she misses baking and can often be found in the kitchens in her free time helping the bakers.
