Physical Description: 6'4 with dark skin and green eyes, shoulders are broad but overall he looks lanky because he is so young still. His hair is short and curly tending to stick close to his scalp, he has an ever ready smile.

Personality: Damon is the literal definition of a bucket full of sunshine with the requisit shadows tossed in for good measure. He is eager to help provided that the task is interesting. He has a flamboyant personality and a deep booming voice already which carries long distances but what else would an aspiring harper have? He pays particular attention to speech patterns and has a floral turn of phrase when provoked... so be warned he will talk you into the ground given half a chance.
He can be a tad reckless at times his mouth getting him places where not even his great size can get him out of but he is adept at garnering sympathy from all but the coldest of hearts...or at least he would prefer that people think it so. Hes used to the cushy intrigue of the harper hall and the rigors of weyr life might stun his Highness just a little.
Once his trust is earned those around him will find a loyal and true friend willing to bend his not inconsiderable intelligence to the greater good of the pair or group he belongs too. He has a penchent for protecting those he really cares about and for undermining those who oppose him.
His flamboyant nature can at time color him conceited to others and he will rub it in once he knows it bothers them, brushing the threshold of annoying them into picking a fight. It is not the fights thought that he enjoys its agitating them to within an inch of their life.

History: Way back when, Damon was born to a female green rider and a visiting holder with wealthy merchant connections. Ahh the things that happen when greens fly unexpectedly during gatherday. No doubt his mother thought it a grand gift...at least until the labor pains started. Damon spent his early years at the Weyr with his Mother then when he started to come into his own as the local pest, he was sent to learn some solid values from his father in the hopes that a male figure in his life would curb some of his immense energy.
Hold life had put a slight damper on him but he wasn't there overlong before the Harperhall discovered him through the eyes of a journeywoman who like him had little use for stoicism and not a little mischief up her own sleeve.
She thought that he would make a fine harper one day to help spread the Harper word and initiative whether that be in a small seahold or in a large dragon weyr. He was just the type she wanted, and her application met with approval once it was determined the boy could in fact sing..and showboat with the best of them...at least those in his age class.
He was eager to rise in the ranks to get to his journeyman level, pouring himself into the harper craft as he was never able to to at the hold before. His spirit soared.
Then low and behold during a search a dragon selected him as a candidate, in shock he was brought to Western Weyr to stand at hatchings. Previous goals aside he knew that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and that he was duty bound to stand for pern against the threat of thread, when the dragons called all those who could hear answered..He had never taken anything this seriously in his life. He was proud to be chosen, besides if it didn't work out he would be able to return to the Harpercrafthall and continue his studies.

Other: He does have a serious side...when it comes to dragons and what they mean to the people of pern. As his mother was a green rider, he has been around them but it was a long time ago. She instilled in him a great respect for dragons and those who ride them into battle.
