By the time they reached her office, the sky outside had darkened. Rough-looking clouds scudded across the sky. Stepping right throug the open door with an inviting smile to Anna, Song crossed to the window and closed the heavy curtains. Next to the window, a cherry bookcase glistened through the dust motes. The office was lit by muted lamps, and Songjewel flipped on a desk lamp as she sat down. Two chairs sat in front of a desk, facing the much cushier-looking desk chair Songjewel used. On her desk lay a file folder and a small leather-bound book.
"Hello Anna, I'm sure you already picked this up, but my name is Songjewel. Its nice to meet you. Why don't you tell me a little about why you want to adopt a plant? Most people prefer pets that can interact with them."

Anna carefully came inside, her orbs glancing on whatever they could capture as she seemed to show herself quite curious. Delicately setting a hand onto the surface of the bookcase, the neko like girl let her fingers travel smoothely upon the wood as she seemed to be in thought. Hastely retreiving her hand for she noted she hadn't been given permition to touch anything, she smiled somewhat nervously. "Well, you see, I have plenty of live pets back home, so to speak. They each have such different personalities. I come from having foxes and cats to porcupines and squirrels." She replied, laughing lightly as she retreived a small roundish creature from her considerably large pocket. Unwinding itself once settled on the table, this showed up to be a very small porcupine with those suave feminin creatures. The small beast yawned cutely afore setting itself to exploring the lamp upon Songjewel's desk. "I wanted to have a calm presence beside me for a change. I already have a strange flower back home, put she is bound to become a pet of mischeif, or so I hear from the owner that breeds such creatures." She once again scooped the smallish porcupine. "I wanted something to talk to in the nights, even if it cannot answer me. I don't mind much if it can, even if it has an attitude, I know that as a plant it needs my presence to live as much as I need her presence to know I'm helping something." She stated once more, soothing the female beast in her hands as she seemed to be unharmed by the weapons that were propped onto the creature's back. "Besides, a plant is as much living as is little Airou here and she deserves to have an equal treatment of kindness and care. I'm just willing to give that life as much love as she needs." She finalized, once again settling the curious porcupine upon the table. The smallish pet looked forth to Songjewel, coming closer to and sniffing at the her hands as if studying the girl. "I brought Airou along for she is forever doomed to be a child. She's as calm as any of my pets will ever become, and she's probably the best to meet new family members. You can pick her up, she won't bite nor use her spikes." She replied, noting how curious and interested the small pet had shown herself in Songjewel.

((Oh, by the way anna...if you ever need something worded differently in RP, let us know. That offer stands for all non-native English speakers, which is why I generally ask about it on the application form. ^^))
Song smiled and reached out a finger to the little one, charmed by the small creature. She waited for it to come to her, so she could give it a little stroke on the neck.
"That's quite appropriate; all creatures are welcome here. We are, after all, a public facility. Please feel free to bring any of your pets with you. I can certainly understand wanting to balance out a mischief-maker." Song winked conspiratorily. "I've got a few of those myself."
Well now, she thought, looks like you're a perfect match for this little lady here. Although you might be getting more than you bargained for. But I'm betting you can handle it.
As she mused over Anna's compatability with her assigned plant, Song picked up the folder and handed it to Anna.
"This is the plant we've matched you up with, Anna. It's a pumpkin plant, but it won't actually be old enough to bear any fruit for quite awhile. Once it does, you're welcome to pick anything that's ripe. Just please record what you take in this..." Song handed her the small book as well. It was pocket-sized, and the leather was smooth and soft. "This is a journal for you. It's not required or anything...you don't have to write anything if you don't want to, but a lot of people want a place to keep their thoughts."
Song watched Anna look over the information in the file as she absently stroked the little critter. The picture on the inside showed a small pumpkin plant, and on the opposite side of the folder was a fact sheet on how to take care of it.
"So," Song asked bemusedly, "what do you think?"

((Worded differently? Forgive me, I'm a little slow on things. I doubt I'll need it, but mind explaining me a little more just what you mean by that? sweatdrop ))
Airou took but mere moments to come forth and nudge at Song's hand, rubbing her small head against the older one's fingers. She purred in a small satisfaction, taking much to the liking of being stroked beneath the neck. She, taken into being carressed, climbed onto Song's hand, playfully making way into the girl's sleeve and up her arm. Do to her rather eternal child state, this small creature was to be forever curious, and was not about to supress such curiosity. Travelling about the other's sleeve, Airou 's spines were flattened against her body so not to harm Song or damage her shirt as she slowly made way to settle upon her shoulder.
Anna silently went over the information. She knew nothing regarding plants, taking care of one would prove to be a much difficult task. Spending a few minutes in silence, probably reading over the sheet, Anna gazed up quaintly as she noticed that she hadn't responded to Song quite yet. "Oh! Sorry, got a little carried off in reading." She laughed a little nervously, closing the folder and looking over the journal. "Well, I might have a few troubles regarding the journal, even a few regarding the care of the plant. But I am most happy to be given such a chance. I doubt I'll pick any of it's fruits though, it'd be like yanking off my tail! Besides, I know only how to make jack-o-lanterns out of a pumpkin." She slightly joked, once more gazing over the folder.
Soon noting Airou had mischeviously climbed Song's sleeve, Anna seemed rather alarmed. "Yeash! Sorry 'bout that. Airou!" She called the small porcupine, who poked her head out the collar of Song's shirt. "Just because you can't climb up people's pants doesn't mean I haven't forbid you from climbing up their shirts!" Anna stated, receiving a slight grin from Airou's part and a playful chirp aswell.

((Which part did you need reworded? It looked like you responded just fine, so I'm not sure.))
Song laughed at Airou's bad behavior.
"It's quite alright. She's not hurting anything. Now, if you start to have trouble with anything you can always come up to the office. Natasha or I can help you find resources that will tell you how to care for your plant. Do you have any other questions, or would you like to go meet it?"

Anna's eyes glimmered for a moment, she smiled widely. "I can assure you that I'll be the one you'll most see around your office, considering just how much I know of plants. But, since Airou is already impatient, I would like to go see this pumpkin." She replied, lifting Airou carefully from Song's shoulder and setting the small beast upon her head. And, like she had done before, Airou curled up and tried to have a nap, for as small as it'd be.

"Okay then!" Song scooted her chair over to the bookshelf and grabbed a book from the middle. Standing, she offered it to Anna. The book was bound in smooth brown leather, with blank lined pages inside.
"This is your journal for as long as you care for the pumpkin. Anything you want to write in there, go ahead. It's not required or anythign, but we think it's nice to be able to see the thoughts of the parents after the plant grows up."
Song slipped over to the door, opened it, and beckoned Anna to precede her through to the waiting room.

Anna blinked, letting her fingers travel down the smooth cover of the blank journal. Hopefully, it'd be full in a few months... actually, maybe in a few years. She soon followed after Song, not minding just how painful it had become to deal with something spiny on her head. She'd glance about curiously, just as she had done in arrival. But she remained silent, not willing to be disrespectful or foolish.
